Wisdom teeth get their name from the fact that they usually appear at a later or older stage when compared to the rest of our teeth. According to the American Dental Association (ADA), this normally happens between the ages of 17 and 21. Wisdom teeth are four molars located at the very back of your mouth, but it is not uncommon for people to have less or even no wisdom teeth at all. If you are not able to see them in your mouth, they could still be under your gums, so the best idea is to get an x-ray.
Not everyone will need to have their wisdom teeth removed, but it is a common thing to do since these can start giving you problems at any point in time. Besides feeling pain there are several reasons you may need an extraction. One of the main reasons a wisdom tooth needs to be extracted is because it doesnt have enough room to come out from the gum. Other common issues that will lead to extraction are infections, damage to neighboring teeth, bone loss, or even just for prevention. Even if your wisdom tooth isnt causing a real issue yet, it could still mean trouble in the future. If the tooth is partially out, it could cause bacteria and plaque to build up around it, if the tooth is on its side, it can cause bone loss around the roots. You should always ask your dentist if and when it would be best for you to have them removed.
Once youve had the procedure done, there are a few things you can do to help your mouth heal a bit quicker. Ice, cold packs, and cool water will be your best friends for a couple of days since the cold will help with any soreness and swelling you may have. Try eating soft foods that wont hurt the sensitive area and avoid spicy foods, alcohol, hot beverages, and smoking. The most important thing is to always follow your doctors instructions.

They told me the retainers would take about 2 weeks to arrive and that they would contact me to make an appointment. Two weeks went by and nothing so I contacted them and they told me they would get back to me, they never did, twice. I called them again and same thing. Finally they told me they had my retainers, when were they going to contact me? I have to wait 2 more weeks for my appointment. I understand that they are short staffed but why lie in the first place and tell me that it would be about 2 weeks for the retainers to arrive to the office and have my appointment? And this is not the first time it happened, the first time I had my braces removed the same thing happened. I did not think it would happen again.

I went to this location last year to have a tooth pulled. The numbing treatment went right in with little pain. My tooth was pulled quickly. Dr. Menlove and his team were excellent. The price was reasonable even with Medicare. I will return for any dental work I need in the future.

I had my braces removed a year ago from this office paid fully and I also paid to get porcelain crowns done on my front teeth. The office FORGOT to give me my top retainer for months then told me I had to wait til my treatment for my crowns was over before I get a new retainer that would fit . They do not give retainer for temps which lead to months of me not having a retainer while waiting for my crowns today I seen my orthodontist and he told me it was my fault for not wearing a crown and I would have to pay for braces all over again or keep them spaced . The office acknowledged fault but felt no remorse for me being without from a retainer so basically I have to start over they ruined the smile I invested a lot of time and money with definitely not going back

Went in for a clear aligner's appointment, I was very impressed with the staff having a very friendly, professional service with Maria and Erica helping me through the whole process. Was in and out in one hour. The office and equipment are still new and clean. Every thing was explained concise but in a clear way, highly recommend this dental clinic that treats you like family
