The staff at Rio Vista is great, everyone is super friendly! Dr. Reyes is amazing and makes sure your comfort is a priority. I had a cavity filling that ended up being much deeper than expected and Dr. Reyes made sure to check in on me frequently to make sure I was doing okay pain and comfort wise. Overall a great experience and everyone here makes going to the dentist less stressful!

This is the best dentist and Gaby the hygentist anywhere- I am 67 years old and have been to many dentists- the most considerate and thoughtful and caring and gentle dental office. They help with any dental problem and do it gently. 5 Stars

I have not been to a dentist in 12 years so you can imagine I came in the office expecting the worst. However, everyone on the staff was polite, gentle, knowledgeable and supportive. They all made me feel comfortable and that my situation wasn't that bad. Everyone that helped me went above and beyond with my X-rays, exam and cleaning. In addition, they made sure I left with all the knowledge I needed to self care at home along with a treatment plan to get me back on track. I would highly recommend this office to anyone looking for a great practice to take care of their dental needs.

The front desk is unprofessional and incredibly rude. I submitted my new insurance cards 2 weeks before my appointment like they asked and they never called to verify my coverage. My appointment was at 7 AM & my insurance company didn't open until 8 AM so by that time there was nothing I could do. I had to cancel my appointment after driving all the way there and changing schedules at work. The front desk could of at least apologized but she didn't she rudely told me to sit down. I have never been treated so poorly. I am disappointed because Dr Lockwood is amazing but her front desk staff is horrible. I won't be going back.

I have been going to Rio Vista Dental for 14 years. The entire staff is incredible! My teeth have been in top shape since the day I walked in their door. My wife is a patient too and we both agree this is the best dental office in San Diego!!

No words how much I appreciate Rio Vista family dentistry especially Dr. Lockwood and her staff. It has been a special journey with them since I walked in to their office terrified especially my case is complicated. I love the professionalism and the friendly patient centered care vibe. I couldn't be smiling the way I am now if it wasn't for Rio Vista. Trustworthy team and I highly recommend this place to anyone.

I was having some issues and was able to be seen within a day. Staff are knowledgeable and checked my insurance before my arrival. The office was not part of my HMO but I decided to be seen and paid cash which was a reasonable fee. The dental assistant who took the needed X-ray was courteous and explained what would happen afterwards. The doctor explained her findings and the treatment. The professionalism of the doctor and staff, the cleanliness of the office convinced me I would continue care here.

I was very nervous about changing dentists since I am nervous about dentistry in general. Happily, my experiences with Rio Vista have been wonderful. They are very kind and caring and I had a wonderful cleaning today!

Services provided were amazing and I have no complaints on that. Their billing practices are a completely different story. After the 1st two claims for my husband's services were submitted in Dec 2021 to our insurance I noticed they were billing with the incorrect NPI # causing them to be processed as out of network. I was able to contact my insurance company and have the claims corrected and paid appropriately. In the mean time, the front office staff had my husband pay his portion for out of network services. Resulting in an overpayment of $541 on our part. I promptly notified the office of the billing error on their part and was assured we would get a refund when they received all the EOBs. Fast forward almost 8 months later to this week, after many emails and phone calls back and forth, I was just advised we will not be getting a refund and I was not given a full explanation as to why. Bottom line they are charging us above the allowable amount for an in network provider. I have requested several times to speak with someone in management or who does the billing directly and have gotten no where! If you go to this office, I recommend you check with your insurance on all procedures yourself before you pay anything out of pocket.
