Dr. Brent Riley received his Doctorate of Dental Medicine from the Medical College of Georgia School of Dentistry in 2009. He graduated from Reinhardt University in 2004 with a bachelors degree in biology. Upon graduating from dental school, Dr. Riley served four years in the U.S. Army Dental Corps at Fort Campbell, Kentucky.
Dr. Riley enjoys attending continuing education classes, staying current with the latest in dental research and technology, playing golf, tennis, exercising, music, camping and spending time with family and friends. He feels very blessed to be back home and looks forward to serving the families of Lynchburg and the surrounding communities.
Dr. Bradley Hammitt received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the Medical College of Virginia School of Dentistry in Richmond, Virginia in 2015. Before that, he graduated from Liberty University in 2011 with a degree in Biology. Dr. Hammitt practiced as an associate in rural Orange, Virginia for five years before joining Riley Dental Associates.
He is a member of the American Dental Association (ADA), Virginia Dental Association (VDA), Academy of General Dentistry (AGD), Virginia Academy of General Dentistry (VAGD), and other local organizations. He is currently the Vice President and Editor of the VAGD, and has served as a delegate to both the National AGD as well as a delegate of the Shenandoah Valley to the VDA.
Dr. Hammitts passion for dentistry extends to his love for continuing education, where he is diligently pursuing his Fellowship in the AGD. Aside from dentistry, he enjoys racquetball, walks, outdoor activities, as well as spending time with friends around the kitchen table playing board games. He and his wife Corinn are looking forward to reconnecting with old friends from school and building a family here. Dr. Hammitt is excited to use his training and experience to meet and serve the wonderful people who make up our community.
Dr. Chalk grew up in Raleigh, North Carolina. She completed her undergraduate degree at UNC-Chapel Hill with a B.S. in Biology. She went on to attend UNC School of Dentistry, where she met her husband, Dr. Evan Chalk (local oral surgeon). Since graduation in 2011, Dr. Chalk has been in a private practice setting.
She moved to Virginia in May 2014 and loves calling Lynchburg home. Her passion in dentistry is found in forming long-term relationships with patients and taking care of the whole person, not just their smile. She takes regular continuing education through the Spear Campus and Online Platform. She is a member of the Lynchburg Dental Society. Outside the office, Dr. Chalk can be found spending time with her three boys, Hayes, Parker and Landon. Her favorite hobbies are Pilates, being outdoors with her family and spending time with her horse, Guinness.
Dr. Carissa Sprinkle grew up right here in Central Virginia. She received a Bachelor of Science in both Chemistry and Biology from Radford University. Subsequently, she attended the University of Maryland School of Dentistry where she obtained a Doctorate of Dental Surgery in 2020. While at the University of Maryland, she took interest in caring for the special needs and geriatric communities.
After graduation, Dr. Sprinkle went on to pursue a one-year advanced education in general dentistry (AEGD) residency at the Veterans Hospital in Martinsburg, WV where she cared for our nations veterans. She received specialized training in dental implants and complex prosthetic rehabilitations. In addition, she was able to further her clinical training in general dentistry. She is a member of the American Dental Association, Virginia Dental Association, and is an active volunteer in her hometown community.
Dr. Sprinkle and her husband, Travis, are very excited to have returned home to Central Virginia where they can be closer to their families. Outside of dentistry, Dr. Sprinkle enjoys hiking with her two dogs, spending time with her family and friends, and participating in CrossFit training.

Riley Dental Associates has been amazing so far! Everyone has been extremely professional and kind. Dr. Sprinkle is fabulous. She was very laid back and easy to discuss my dental concerns with. I have nothing but great things to say about her and this practice!

I've been an established patient here since moving to Lynchburg. It started as an emergency (front chipped tooth) and I stayed for all routine care, including crown. On a Friday, I called with what I felt was an abscess on my gum and, due to having major surgery the following Wednesday, knew antibiotics at the least would be required. The girl who answered the phone said "we're too busy today. I can try and get you in next week." and when I tried to explain the urgency of the situation, repeated that they were too busy. I then, at the demand of my surgeon, called back on Monday to be seen (my primary prescribed antibiotics on Friday and was shocked at the response from the dentist) and the girl repeated the same thing! I asked if she understood what an abscess was and she said "of course I know what an abscess is" and proceeded to tell me she might be able to squeeze me in on Tuesday at 5:00 pm, approximately 12 hours before I was to report to surgery". I contacted an emergency dentist who took care of getting rid of the infection, the right antibiotics, etc. Took all of 40 minutes. I will not go back to them. I thought they were great until this happened. At the VERY least, she could have put me on hold and checked with a doctor.

I have been going to Riley Dental 20 years. With the the retirement of Dr. Jeff Riley I was hesitant to start with a new Dentist. Dr. Hammitt is my new Dentist and I recently had to have him work on a small cavity and replacing a bad crown. (15 years old) It was the most pain free appointment I have ever had. Dr. Hammitt is excellent at administering novacaine (didn't realize he had given me the shot) and explained what he was doing and regularly checked to make sure I wasn't experiencing pain. I wanted to compliment him and his assistant during my recent visit. As a side note, Traci has been our hygienist at Riley Dental for as long as I can remember. She is the best.

I cannot say enough good things about Riley Dental. Dr. Hammitt is so nice and explained everything very thoroughly making sure any of my questions were answered. Tracey did my initial evaluation and was a pleasure to chat with the whole time! Suzanne did my dental cleaning and she was so kind and gentle! I would get my teeth cleaned by her any day. She also graciously entertained my 6 year old son's questions the whole time. ;) Every time I go to Riley, I feel like I am at a dental spa! Thanks for the great service!

Just moved to area. I had Dr. Hammitt and my husband saw Dr Chalk. We were so impressed with their thoroughness and professionalism as well as their flexibility, punctuality and most importantly, their ability to communicate with us exactly what they were doing, next steps, etc. Many thanks to them and to Lynn, Suzanne and Anna (and Dana!) Dr. Riley and the hygienists and assistants at Riley Dental are an excellent group of people. The many years I went to this practice, everyone was always friendly and had time to discuss any concerns I had. Cleanings were always professional and complete, and Dr. Riley never made me feel rushed when speaking to me. Additionally, their office staff always made scheduling and payment fast and simple.

I was new to the area and the courteous and professional staff at Riley were able to help me get plugged in right away. They also have knowledgeable staff about insurance policies and claims. This is definitely where I will be going now that I am in Lynchburg.

I am taking a teeth wellness journey after raising 4 kids and putting them first, me last. I also have had trauma seeing a dentist and so it was no easy feat to begin. The staff here are excellent and professional. Very calming, friendly and understanding. I appreciated the hygienist numbing my gums today for my cleaning. Last time I had this done I was in terrible pain. This time was pain free!! Big work ahead but these are the people I want to take care of me!

Good dentist, good staff - but do not stand behind their work. Had a routine cleaning last Thursday - when they accidentally chipped a tooth which required a filling to repair. I informed all personnel concerned on that day - but they insisted on charging me for the filing done today! Shame!

Riley Dental is amazing. I have been to a few other dental offices in the area and have always had issues with not being numb enough due to sensitive teeth. At Riley Dental I didn't feel a thing! Their staff is very nice and helpful and they will take the time to explain everything. Their process is quick and they have amazing attention to detail. Their office is nice and clean they have a nice waiting area. All my cleaning was covered by my insurance. I also felt like the number of pictures and x-rays they took was enough to show them everything they need. I would highly recommend going to Riley Dental!

Dr. Brent and his hygienist are genuinely friendly. They are gentle yet thorough. The staff are friendly & efficient. I always leave feeling well taken care of.
