Dry mouth, sometimes known as xerostomia, is a condition that is characterized by underproduction of saliva in your mouth. As a result, your mouth typically feels dry and parched, and you may also experience bad breath and cracked lips. On its own, dry mouth isnt a life-threatening or severe condition. However, it may be indicative of more significant underlying problems. Even in the absence of underlying health issues, chronic dry mouth can be uncomfortable and may make up for embarrassing or awkward interactions.
Dehydration and insufficient saliva production are the direct causes of dry mouth. Several factors may trigger dehydration as well as inhibit the proper function of the salivary glands. These include:
Xerostomia is treatable and often temporary. There are simple yet practical steps you can take at home to relieve the symptoms of dry mouth. These include sipping on water frequently, chewing sugarless gum to stimulate saliva production, and avoiding excessive intake of alcohol and tobacco.

I don't really know where to start on this Review. I had a very painful problem with my wisdom tooth, and was having a hard time finding a dentist close to home willing to take my insurance. I found Rifle Dental Care, and decided to call and see if I could get in. AS SOON as they answered the phone, I could feel the positive energy, enough for me to book an appointment! I arrive, and I am greeted by two really great ladies who I could tell enjoy their jobs, and actually care about providing good service, I sit down to wait to be called back and STILL felt such a positive energy just from other guests, and employees passing by. When I was called back I immediately knew this was my new dental office, instead of this being a business transaction, all employees actually cared about what I had to say, and wanted to get to know me. Dr. Courtney came to my room after Xrays, and was such a sweetheart, she was generous and I could tell she knew what she was talking about. Her assistant is amazing, and both of them made me feel so comfortable. I thought the appointment would be yet another consultation for the dentist to tell me to come back in three weeks, an charge excessively. Nope! Courtney says "we can do an extraction today, or tomorrow? What do you think?" Seriously!? Yes! In and out, it was so great. I literally felt no pain, both Courtney and her assistant were gentle, talked me through the procedure, and made sure I was okay. HUGE PLUS!! After all was said and done, Dr. Courtney took the time to make sure I understood my recovery, and her assistant was so knowledgeable. I was more than impressed with this office, and I (and my family) will absolutely becoming back! Thanks again ladies!

I have been seeing Dr Cappelli and Team for a sleep device for obstructive sleep apnea. They have gone above and beyond with follow up sleep studies and adjustments. My new sleep device has increased my energy levels and Im no longer tired half way through the day. I want to thank everyone at Rifle Dental Care for taking the time to listen to my needs and diagnose my issues. Truly life changing!

Katherine, the hygienist was exceptionally cordial. She listened to me thoroughly and answered my questions specifically, which showed me her care & knowledge of my situation. Katherine made suggestions for when I return from my vacation. It was truly a pleasure interacting with Katherine. I wish more hygienists were as thorough. Restorative dental work requires both skill and compassion. I had an emergency appointment and was met with kindness, flexibility and talent. I had a root canal performed by Dr. Courtney Schwind that was absolutely painless despite the undeniable difficulty the tooth presented. Each member of the staff at the front were such a pleasure to work with and I cannot say enough how grateful I am to each and all. Payment options are flexible for the unexpected expense. My young child was present and was treated with such beautiful regard the entire time. I'm thankful for Gabby who helped assist Dr Cappelli with my exam and Dr. Schwind with the crown preparation while continuously ensuring I was entirely comfortable. Dental work is an investment and it's important to find a dentist that is experienced and talented, Rifle Dental Care is both and so much more.
