Dr. Walis background is actually quite diverse! While she is of North Indian descent, she actually grew up in Quebec. Her family includes several doctors as well, so she had plenty of exposure to the medical field right away. While it certainly felt like her professional path was headed in that direction as well, life threw her a curveball after the completion of her Bachelors. She got married and moved to Japan, working as an English teacher there for several years.
When Dr. Walia returned to the United States, she wanted to observe American dentistry and eventually found her opportunity in Appleton, WI. She came across countless procedures that could create beautiful, positive changes for patients smiles, and having the ability to evoke so much happiness and confidence seemed extremely gratifying. She decided to apply to dental school the following year and the rest is history!
After studying at Emory University, Dr. Walia pursued her dental doctorate at the Nova Southeastern University School of Dental Medicine. Shes also completed a General Practice Residency at Staten Island University Hospital, which involved advanced training in cosmetic dentistry and treatment for medically compromised patients. To further advance her clinical skillset, shes also become a Master of Implant Prosthesis through Hiossen International Implant Training and is currently both a Platinum Provider of Invisalign and a VIP Provider of ClearCorrect. She is certified in orthodontics and Lumineers.
Dr. Walia has two beautiful daughters. The elder daughter, Suhina, is a dual graduate of UT Austin McCombs Business School with degrees in finance and international relations/global studies with honors. The younger daughter, Juhi, attends Schimelpfenig Middle School and is the creative one in the family she bakes specialty desserts AND loves dancing hip hop! Dr. Walias mother also lives with them, as her dad sadly passed in 2014.
In her free time, Dr. Walia enjoys traveling to exotic places, running, lifting weights, cooking all sorts of fusion dishes, taking her daughters out for a nice steak, and tackling various home improvement projects. Shes also recently developed a big interest in horticulture. She loves having a flower and vegetable garden!
Although Bana is originally from Iraq, she attended dental assistant school here in Texas. She joined our team with five years of experience under her belt, and she has since enjoyed having the ability to change a negative experience into something positive.
Bana comes from a very traditional family of seven, all of whom love pursuing education and building better lives for themselves. In her free time, she loves expressing herself through painting and strengthening her breathwork through yoga!

As with any oral infection, the key to treating gum disease is to get rid of the bacteria that is causing it. Said bacteria often gathers in the pockets that form between your teeth and gums as the soft tissue gradually starts to recede. A deep cleaning allows us to remove the plaque and tartar that have accumulated in and around these pockets. After scraping the harmful substances away with scaling, well smooth the roots of the teeth with root planing to encourage the gums to reattach themselves.
It takes more than a single treatment to stop the development of gum disease; after scaling and root planing have been performed, we can place an antibiotic called ARESTIN in the pockets. The medication will be released from their microspheres very gradually over the course of several weeks. That means that it can actively fight against oral bacteria for an extended period of time, which should give your mouth time to heal. The length of antibiotic therapy will depend on both the complexity and severity of your case.

Horrible. If I could give zero stars I would. I've been bringing my family to this dental office for two years so I can say I gave them a chance. Not only is the staff beyond rude and condescending especially one of the heavier girls in the front. The blonde with black Roots. I don't know her name but she is horrible. They will try and have you get work done you DONT need and yes I know this is true for months they've been pushing me to get crowns and I had another dentist tell me I did not need them. So why would so many people literally their whole staff tell me I need something I don't and another dentist says no you're ok? Also, They will try and ride up your bill as much as possible. Making appointments you did not ask or approve dates for? That's this dental office's specialty. When you try and cancel they'll try and charge you a $75 fee for an appointment you did not make. They aren't to be trusted you will regret it for sure. Maybe not right away but you will, guaranteed. Dentist here come and go I'm not sure for what reason but I'm sure there's one. Also, be weary of some reviews because they will tell you to give them a good review before you leave and before you have anything done. Can't tell you how many times they've asked this of me and I didn't want to unless I was sure they were good enough for a certain review. Which they aren't. Old reviews are not up to date with the staff they currently have. The great reviews on staff was from when those girls worked here they don't anymore. Whole new incompetent staff. The dentists bedside manner is on another level, Not in a good way either.

I have been a patient at Ridgepoint dental for almost four years now. My first year I was seen by Dr Walia and she was great. But after the first year it has been a revolving door of dentists. Same goes for the front office and administration staff. I like consistency and unfortunately this office doesn't have that anymore. The only person who is still there is their hygienist Marisela and she's wonderful. She's the only reason I haven't left yet.

My first visit was pleasant. Bana was very outgoing and friendly through the initial process. Overall the new patient process was very thorough, though it went smoothly. Scheduling was accommodating through several changes. I would recommend this office.

Dr. Walia and Ridgepoint Dental have been not only caregivers but like family. They care about you as a person and care for you as you were one of their own. Three years ago I went in with excruciating pain and Dr. Walia did everything she could to cater to my fears and get me out of the pain I was in. Needless to say the root canal was not a walk in the park but she sure made it seem like it was :) Most recently I took my sister who is Down syndrome to see Dr. Walia. At the age of 52 she had not seen a dentist in years. My sister needed multiple teeth pulled, gum cleaning, fillings and partials. The staff made her feel very comfortable and my sister looks forward to seeing them at her appointments. Not to mention she lights up a room now with her smile! Thanks to Dr. Walia and her staff at Ridgepoint Dental we know where to go to get proper dental care and recommend them to everyone.

My manager recommended this place because my crown (got it done somewhere else) broke in half. They took me in the same day, scheduled me 2 business days later for temp crown and sent it off to the lab. They are quick, efficient and everyone super friendly. I have been stressing about finding a dentist in my area and I'm pleased to say I finally did!
