Though his preteen years and some of his teen years were spent in the Midwest, Dr. Rick Lane has spent most of his life in California.Initially attracted to the Sonoma area for the beautiful cycling opportunities, he raised his son and daughter here and loves the people, the weather, and the physical beauty of the area. He has established himself as one of the most highly respected dentists in the Sonoma County area. His patients include many specialist dentists and many of their team members. Dr. Lanes office is proud to have patients traveling from Marin, Napa, Sacramento, San Francisco, and Lake Counties for the gentle manner and fantastic results they receive.
Dr. Lane takes pride in being a smaller, privately-owned dental office. Having such an environment allows him and his staff the opportunity to offer the very best in general and cosmetic dental care in a highly personalized manner. Seeing patients who came into the office with not-so-healthy mouths, turn into patients with healthy mouths because of their work is incredibly rewarding to him and his staff.
When hes not working, you may find him playing guitar and singing with his brother in their band, The Fabulous BioTones. Or he may be out in his garden growing vegetables, or visiting one of Petalumas great restaurants.
Dr. Lane credits the dental profession for affording lifelong learning opportunities as it changes and progresses through the years. He thoroughly enjoys continuing education opportunities in the cosmetic dentistry area and completes anywhere from 50-60 hours per year, more than double Californias requirement,in order to perfect his skill and artistry. His expertise is evident in his work.
Dr. Lane enjoys restoring worn dentitions and fractured front teeth, as well as dental bonding. He finds great fulfillment in creating complete dentures for those who have no teeth or whose teeth are no longer savable and who want a beautiful smile. He also enjoys restoring dental implants. Dr. Lane takes pride in operating a warm and inviting dental practice. He and his staff work hard to maintain an environment where all patients feel relaxed and confident in the care they are receiving. From the warm greeting you will receive when you first enter the office to the hot towels, blankets, pillows, and movies during your procedure, your comfort and confidence are our priority.
Pearl has over 30 years of experience as a dental professional, and has been part of Dr. Lanes team since 2014. Born and raised in San Francisco, California, she likes the beautiful surroundings and the many things to do in Sonoma County. After receiving her Bachelors of Nursing from the University of San Francisco, in 1984, she went on to become a registered dental hygienist, in 1987, through the University of California, San Francisco School of Dentistry. She then went on to practice for 27 years at The University of the Pacific School of Dentistry, in the Faculty Practice, and also with an independent dental researcher who tested dental products.
Born and raised in Sonoma County, Renee has more than 20 years of experience as a registered dental assistant. She completed her dental assistant program at Santa Rosa Junior College, in Santa Rosa, California.
Born and raised in Marin County, Therese has lived in Sonoma County for over 30 years. After completing the dental assistant program at the College of Marin, in 1980, she spent 31 years as a registered dental assistant, but has spent the last six years as Dr. Lanes office manager.
Therese and her husband live in Cotati, where they raised two sons and a daughter, and now enjoy spending time with their grandchild. She loves that Sonoma County is a wonderful place to raise a family. She loves being so close to the ocean, mountains, lakes and rivers and enjoys RVing, fishing, and hiking, gardening and cooking.

Dr Sarreno was very pleasant and informative as to suggestions for future dental care. She gave her recommendations and left the decision for me to make. She has a welcoming personality. I like her.

My wife & I both go to Dr. Lane. We have had several procedures done by Dr. Lane and have always been 100% satisfied with the results. I have lived all over California and have had several dentists, but Dr. Lane is far and way the best dentist I have had.

I cracked my tooth first thing in the morning. I found Dr. Serrano and she saw me later that morning. Honestly, my best experience at a dentist's office ever. All of the staff are incredible. So warm, friendly, and helpful with insurance forms and questions. And, they were so understanding and squeezed me in. Dr. Serrano is fantastic. She put me at ease right away and made sure I was comfortable; so did her wonderful assistant. The end result was incredible. This is definitely my dentist going forward. Highly recommend if you're looking for a great dentist, call them!

I recently became a new patient at Alma Dental care. The front office was very accommodating when scheduling and the paperwork was sent to me and able to be submitted right from my phone, which was so convenient and fast. When I arrived at my appointment I was greeted with smiles and taken back immediately for X-rays and my exam. Dr Serrano is so thorough and so well educated but still able to explain treatment needed in terms I can understand and she explained to me how to better protect my teeth to avoid future treatment and keep my smile healthy! They accept all the major insurance so that helps my wallet too! I just loved the whole experience and will recommend this office to my family, friends and co workers! Happy to have found this office!

Love Alma Dental. I was nervous about going to a new dentist but I didn't need to worry. Had a crown done today and it was easy peasy (if you can say that about getting a crown!). Very compassionate care. Top notch staff too!

Everyone there was extremely friendly and made my time there very enjoyable. They really helped take away all the stress you get from a typical visit to the dentist. This was by far my best dental related experiences and I would recommend Alma Dental Care to anyone and everyone looking for a spectacular dentist.

Caring, patient, professionals throughout the office. I could not recommend a better place for dental work for ANYONE who has even the slightest fear of dentists. Dr. Serrano made me feel comfortable having dental work. She explained everything ahead of time and constantly checked with me regarding my comfort level. I'm usually pretty nervous but I was very grateful for her extra support and reassurance.

I want to extend a very warm welcome to Alma Dental Care here in Petaluma. Maria Serrano, DDS was chosen by Dr. Rick Lane who has now retired. Dr. Lane over the years had assembled a team in his dental practice that was a "family" to all his patients. This was a seamless transition, as Maria Serrano has brought this wonderful team into her practice, including birds and music. She has been taking care of me, and I am proud to welcome her into our Petaluma Familyhood.
