Dr. Richardson is also a voracious reader of dental and oral healthcare journals, to stayuptodate on research and emerging technologies.

Born and raised in Winchester, Dr. Richardson resides in Belmont and appreciates living and practicing in the same community. She cares a great deal about the community, its people, and its needs. It is, in fact, one of the major reasons she decided to open her practice in Belmont. When shes not caring for patients, she pursues culinary pleasures, whether shes cooking a feast or exploring new restaurants. She also enjoys skiing and golfing, cheering for Boston sports teams, and spending time at East Dennis Cape Cod.

We recognize that all our patients are unique and deserve to receive dental care that reflects their individual needs. Our experienced and talented dental team is committed to working with you and your family to create a comfortable, stress-free, and rewarding dental experience every time you visit our practice. Dr. Paola Buckley received her DDS from El Bosque University in Bogot, Colombia in 2000. She practiced as a general dentist in her native citywhile serving as a teaching associate and researcher in periodontal microbiology for her schools department of oral microbiology. Her love for periodontal research brought her to the United States to pursue a research opportunity at the prestigious Forsyth Institute in Boston, and later earnher Doctorate of Sciencein oral biology at the Boston University, Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine in 2008. During her postdoctoral years she published several articles about periodontal disease biology.

But it was her love for patient care and education which motivated her to incorporate her knowledge of the periodontology basic sciences into a fulfilling clinical practice. She dedicated herself to pursuing additional training and completed a two-year specialty program in clinical periodontology and implantology at the Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine and a DMD program designed for internationally trained dentists at the same university.

Currently, Dr. Buckley is a clinical assistant professor for the predoctoral periodontology department at Boston University Henry M Goldman School of Dental Medicine, where she supervises and instructs students in all aspects of periodontal disease and treatment. Dr. Buckley is very passionate about periodontology and dental implantology and is always current on the latest techniques and treatment services. She attends multiple professional meetings throughout the year and is an active member of the American Academy of Periodontology, American Dental Association, Massachusetts Dental Society andHispanic Dental Association. She is committed to providing preventive services and excellent dental care to all patients.

Dr. Eva Chiu is a Massachusetts native, having grown up in Belmont and receivedher B.S. in biology at Brandeis University in 2014. She graduated from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in 2018. While at Tufts, she was on the executive board for the Asian Dental StudentOrganization. She organized and lead programs that provided care to the community with oral cancer screenings, exams, and oral hygiene education at various community centers, such as the Womens Shelter and Golden Age Center.

After that, she completed an advanced education in general dentistry residency program at the Winslow Indian Health Care Center in Winslow, Arizona through NYU Langone Health in 2019. During her residency program, she expanded her skill set under the tutelage of seasoned general dentists and specialists in orthodontics, periodontics, and CEREC.

Dr. Chiu is a member of the American Dental Association and the Massachusetts Dental Society. In her spare time, she enjoys rock climbing, hiking, rollerblading, skiing, traveling, and spending time with her family, especially her niece and nephew.

After receiving my dental hygiene degree from the NH Technical Institute, I decided the city was calling my name and moved to Boston. Throughout my career, I have really enjoyed working with people and helping them improve their oral health. My favorite thing is to show patients how to floss! I truly value the relationships I have made with patients over the years and cant wait to get to know new patients.

I enjoy working individually with each patient:developing a connection with them. During their visit, I talk with a patient about dental health. We work together to find the homecare routines and products that work for their needs. Providing oral hygiene education, cleaning a patients teeth, taking and reviewing X-rays, and doing periodontal chartingare all part of my day. The best part, though, is seeing healthy, beautiful smiles!

I really like working with a wide variety of people, and providing them with the best care for their individual oral health needs. Nothing is more rewarding than seeing a patient develop a healthy and lovely smile. I clean patients teeth, perform root planing and debridement, and screen for oral cancer. My main focus, though, is teaching patients about their specific dental hygiene needs and how to keep their smile in great shape between visits.

I enjoy getting to know my patients individually, and building lasting relationships with them. The conversations we have, and how they share their lives with me, always makes me smile. I especially like working with our pediatric patients:seeing their excitement at learning how to keep their smile beautiful. I provide routine and periodontal cleanings, take dental X-rays, and teach patients how to maintain great oral health.

I like helping a person feel better about their teeth and smile. Its rewarding to work with our young patients, and helping them feel comfortable so they dont grow up being afraid of seeing the dentist. I provide chairside assistance to our doctors during dental procedures. I make sure everything is prepared and at hand, but my attention is on our patient. I tell them what were doing and check that theyre comfortable.

My goal is to ensure the office runs smoothly so our patients have the best dental experience possible. Im passionate about great teamwork, clear communication, and flawless business practices. An MBA in business administration and more than30 years in brand management have provided a terrific foundation for my dedication to our patients, Dr. Richardson, and the fabulous team at Pleasant StreetDental.

I had a toothache went to see Dr. Richardson during a COVID-19 lockdown period. I was a little nervous about the idea of going to the dentist during such a scary time. The minute I walked into Dr. Richardson's office I felt comfortable and safe. Each patient has to complete a COVID questionnaire, get their temperature taken and then is given a set of fresh PPE before entering the office. There are surgical grade air purifiers in the patient rooms and the doctor and hygienists wear two masks, face shields and surgical gear. Dr. Richardson was pleasant as always and the procedure she performed took my toothache away. I highly recommend Dr. Richardson to anyone looking for a dentist.

I have been going to Dr. Sarah Richardson for years and I could not be more impressed with her professionalism, precision and overall excellent skills. Because I trust her practice, I decided to get a consult for the overriding gum on one of my teeth by seeing Dr. Paola Buckley. The consult was informative and efficient. I went for my gum removal today and the appointment was nothing short of outstanding. First, I felt safe and clean the moment I walked into Pleasant St. Dental. Being in the medical field myself, I was very impressed by the staffs' PPE. During my procedure, Dr. Buckley was kind and professional. She reassured me that she would make sure I was happy with my results. After the procedure was complete, I was so amazed bypass the results, new smile, new me and painless! Overall, I cannot recommend Pleasant St. Dental enough. Over the years, I now having many close friends of mine that are now patients here and could not be happier with their switch. Thank you Dr. Sarah and Dr. Buckley.

Safe, clean and professional. The clinic was evidently adjusted to provide the level of infection control you should expect during this health crisis. I was received outside, and after being screened for symptoms (including taking my temp.), I was welcomed into a closed off disinfection foyer. With gloves on I proceeded directly to the treatment room (no waiting room with people) which had clean and covered equipment and an air filtering unit. I felt very safe throughout the entire visit. Dr. Richardson and the rest of the staff were, as usual, welcoming, professional and caring.

Dr. Richardson always does a great job, and she is very friendly too. Every time I see her (which is only a couple times per year) she remembers what we have talked about and asks about my life, which means a lot.

Dr. Richardson is an amazing dentist. Honestly the best I have visited in Boston. She is very caring and an expert at what she does. Also, the other employees at her office are great. I would recommend her practice over any other in the area.
