As a kid, Dr. Jones went to a Girls In Science Day at Brookhaven Community College, where a local dentist took impressions of the attendees teeth. She thought it was the coolest thing shed ever seen! When she started her own orthodontic treatment, she quickly fell in love with the engineering aspects of the work, even making her very own retainers and headgear out of soldering wire and hot glue. The final push she needed to enter the field was her mentor (the 9th female orthodontist in all of Texas), who taught her how to love and care for patients effectively while changing their smiles.
After graduating from Southern Methodist University as a Hunt Scholar, Dr. Jones took the dental admission test and got the highest score in the country that year! She attended Baylor College of Dentistry-Texas A&M Health Science Center, where she earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery. Shortly after, she chose to pursue orthodontics as her specialty and matched at one of the top programs in the country: The University of Texas at Houston. After 27 months of advanced training, she completed her Masters and Certificate in Orthodontics.
Dr. Jones is happily married to Jason, an army veteran. They have two children named Kenton and Madeline, as well as a Sheepadoodle named Skye. Outside of the practice, you can usually find her spending quality time with her loved ones, baking, swimming, or preparing for her next triathlon.
For Dr. Hanson, the best thing about her job isnt the teeth, its the people! Nothing makes her happier than enabling a patient to feel comfortable and then working alongside our excellent team to give them a stellar smile. Before joining our practice, she pursued 11 years of higher education to become an engineer, a dentist, and an orthodontist, and now, she is excited to create a beautiful, healthy smile with you. Dr. Hanson never knew she wanted to be an orthodontist growing up--no one in her family was a doctor or dentist. She was a mechanical engineering major in college, and she did an internship with a medical device company after her freshman year that got her interested in biology and the human applications of engineering. She then started considering some of the medical professions after that because she loved interacting with people. After shadowing an orthodontist, she was hooked because it was all of her passions combined: engineering, getting to work with people, and a fast-paced environment!
Dr. Hanson graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, where she eventually saw the light and decided to switch to dentistry. She went on to earn her DDS degree from The University of Texas School of Dentistry at Houston. While there, she earned numerous awards, was nominated to join the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society, and was frequently on the Deans Student Excellence List.
After dental school, Dr. Hanson completed a two-year orthodontic residency in Houston, earning a Master of Science in Dentistry along with her Certificate in Orthodontics. She has since had her work published in both the Journal of Clinical Orthodontics and the American Journal of Orthodontics & Dentofacial Orthopedics.
When shes not crafting smiles at the office, Dr. Hanson loves making guacamole and eating tacos with her husband, Troy. They met in the engineering program at UT, and he works as a strategy consultant. The Hansons enjoy being outdoors and traveling to places with mountains where they can hike or go snow skiing. Dr. Hanson likes learning new things, whether from a podcast, book, or documentary, so when you see her, make sure you recommend your recent favorites!

Dr . Jones never finished my treatment so now I am left with a ton of gear in my mouth I have to get removed and start treatment some where else. The staff is very over worked and treated very poorly by the Doctor. This office used to care about giving amazing results and care now it seems they only care about opening more offices. $$$. Dr. Jones and her staff were amazing. From the front desk, to techs everyone was so friendly and made the experience easy and office visits, fun. My daughter had a great experience, and I did too! I'm immeasurably to thankful for Dr. Jones and her staffs, they are very amazing and likable. She truly care about all patient. When I almost completed treatment, she asked me "Am I satisfied with the teeth." I quickly response, Well! not really, then I describe what I don't like the appearance on the teeth seems not straightened. She immediate consult on the teeth again.

Dr. Jones is an excellent orthodontist. I am pleased to call her my colleague and was fortunate to complete my orthodontic residency with her. Her drive for excellence and knowledge of orthodontics is unparalleled, and I know that anyone seeking orthodontic care in the area will achieve fantastic results working with her and her team. Like myself, Dr. Jones uses an indirect bonding technique to place her braces extremely accurately. Why does this matter? By being so precise and accurate with the placement of the braces, it shortens treatment time and means more comfortable treatment due to less wire bending needed at the end of treatment. I highly recommend Dr. Jones, and I would not hesitate to refer any friends, family, or transfer patients there. Give her office a call!

The staff were very welcoming, kind friendly and professional. Ashley was a sweetheart. I was a little late for my appointment but they managed to still see me. It was a very pleasant visit and I would definitely recommend Richardson Orthodontics P:S What was even sweeter in my eyes, they even had a welcoming board outside the office with my name on it and that made me feel special See photo below

We could not be more thankful for Dr Jones and her amazing staff! They are the most attentive and professional orthodontic office I have ever experienced. My daughter is so pleased with her smile and I am so happy with the entire experience from start to finish! We will be bringing our younger daughter back for braces when it is time, and I have even started Invisalign treatment with Dr Jones! Thank you for making what could have been a stressful time in my daughters teen years an easy and happy one!

I came here for the first time as a new patient because my old retainer broke after less than a year of having it made at my old orthodontist. The whole exoerience from calling to schedule an appointment (which I was able to get same-day) to getting my teeth scanned at the office (they use up to date technology instead of putty like material) to receiving my retainer was so seamless. The staff at the office was so friendly and professional. I love my new retainer and realized that my previous orthodontist did a horrendous job with my old retainer.
