Richard Bernstein, DDS, has been a respected cosmetic dentist, and a leader in the development of smile design techniques for over 25 years. He has trained and worked with many of the world's best cosmetic dentists, and furthers his knowledge with more than 100 hours of continuing education per year. He stays at the forefront of the latest technology and developments in dentistry.
ABAD establishes and promotes care standards for aesthetic dentistry. The status of Diplomate recognizes that Dr. Bernstein has met their stringent criteria for technical expertise and natural artistry. As a Diplomate, he has completed 250 hours of continuing education in aesthetic dentistry, successfully completed a 500 question written examination, and submitted ten case studies demonstrating mastery in this area. Dr. Bernstein joins an elite segment of only about 50 individuals inducted into ABAD. They are distinguished as leaders in the field and spokespersons for the profession.
Dr. Bernstein is a generous supporter of education and charitable organizations. His practice donates all mouth guards to the local high school football teams. He is a regular contributor to breast cancer research, as well as donating to many of his patients causes and fundraisers.
When he is not working to design and create beautiful smiles, Dr. Bernstein enjoys watching his favorite hockey team, the Detroit Red Wings. He is a hockey player himself, and a member of a local competitive team. He also plays golf, and is a certified scuba diver. His other interests include art, a talent he inherited from his mother. As early as elementary school, Richard Bernstein's artistic skills caught the attention of the Detroit Art Institute, where some of his early mosaic work ended up.
Maya loves getting to know her patients and making them feel truly comfortable with her gentle and experienced hands. Super-friendly and outgoing, she makes the hygiene sessions more enjoyable for patients.
Jay has been a member of Dr. Bernstein's team since 2019. She loves working here as she wants to make patients comfortable while improving their oral hygiene. Her goal is to guide and educate her patients to keep their smiles healthy and beautiful.
Rebecca, aka Becca has assisted Dr. Bernstein for over 16 years! Our patients enjoy her positive personality and radiant smile. Becca has been in the dental field for over 23 years, beginning as a scheduling coordinator and transitioning into dental assisting.
Becca does her best to have a gentle and compassionate chairside manner to help each patient, even the most fearful, to feel relaxed and comfortable. Becca wants patients to rest assured that she will be by their side when Dr. Bernstein is transforming their smiles into something extraordinary and improving their dental health.
When shes not here, Andrea enjoys spending time with her daughter before she heads off to college in the fall, reading, traveling, and dining out. She also spends a lot of time enjoying the great outdoors of Michigan through kayaking, running, hiking and bicycling. Shes also the proud parent of two cats.

I've needed some teeth work for a while now I've been putting it off because of plain old just being scared haven't been to the dentist in many years I'm so happy that I went into Richard Bernstein's office he made everything so easy no pain whatsoever the kindest staff possible I felt like family was working on me the whole time I would never go anywhere else hopefully he works for another hundred years lol highly recommend this place you won't regret it

I have been a patient of Dr. Berstein ever since I moved from Minneapolis to MI 5 years ago. He was referred to me from my Mpls cosmetic dentist (one of the best in the Midwest) so i knew Dr. Bernstein was going to be good. Not only does Dr. Berstein know what he's doing, his personality is awesome... super friendly, funny and he answers all of my bazillion questions because I am super inquisitive. Not about procedure, but overall dental questions. I love the guy. I highly recommend him! Oh AND the staff is INCREDIBLE A very good team indeed.

I went to this office for a about a year or two. Dr. Bernstein has very good technical skills. A few things I noticed and didn't like: the semi-private rooms have big gaps over each room, so your conversations are not private at all. Dr. Bernstein tends to really push a lot of numbing, which takes forever to go back to normal. I was really disappointed in this idea of a "smile makeover". It's what I was really hoping for but there didn't seem to be any attempt to discuss it with me; such as what my goals are, what bothers me about my smile and how I may want to improve it. I'm not sure why that is, but generally disappointed with the approach to my personal goals. I wish we could have gotten to that point but I ended up deciding to move on with a different dentist closer to my home. I would still recommend Dr. Bernstein to anyone looking for a good dentist who is very knowledgeable and has solid technical skills.

I love Dr Bernstein and his staff! I came to his practice from a dentist that t thought I was getting good care from but I wasn't. When I met Dr . Bernstein he was appalled at the state of my teeth. He paid out of his own pocket for X-rays to see everything that was going on. Little by little he repaired all the problems and now my teeth are in good shape. I would recommend this practice to anyone. The doc takes such good care of you and the hygienist are top notch . I love Rebecca, Jay and I miss Katie every day. Thanks to doc and the staff.. keep up the good work!

Love Dr. Bernstein and his entire staff, they are best! I've been seeing Dr. B for years. Dr. B and Rebecca make such a great team, they work together like a well oiled machine and make getting dental work done fun and entertaining, really they do! The quality of his dental work is phenomenal, very skilled and talented. Jay the hygienist is so thorough and professional, my teeth feel so clean when I leave the office. So happy with his practice.
