Dr. Powers is a Lock Haven/Mill Hall area native. He was born in 1962. He attended Mill Hall Elementary and Robb Elementary Schools. He is a class of 1980 graduate of Lock Haven High School where he participated in football, baseball, and wrestling. He is a graduate of Wilkes College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Science and a 1987 graduate of Temple University School of Dentistry. Dr. Powers is certified by having completed the National Dental Board Examinations, the Northeast Regional Board of Examination and is licensed in the state of Pennsylvania with Nitrous Oxide certification. Dr. Powers is a member of the Pennsylvania Dental Association.
Dr. Powers is currently the examining dentist for the Keystone Central School district, staff Dentist for Bucktail Medical Center and previously Clinical Instructor for the Dental Hygiene Program at Pennsylvania College of Technology.
Dr. Powers is a Past Master of LaFayette Lodge #199 Free Masons, a member of the Advisory Board for the local Salvation Army and a member of the Lock Haven Elks. He has been active in coaching football, baseball, soccer, basketball, and wrestling with various youth organizations. He has been a leader in both the local Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts.
Dr. Powers has three sons: Richard Lee III, who is a graduate of Marywood University with a masters degree in Biotechnology and an Entrepreneur Owner of Triple Toe Game Calls. His company product line sells in hundreds of stores in the United States and Canada. Richard Lee the 3rd is attending Chiropractic school at NY Chiropractic College.
Dr. Powers and his family live in Mill Hall area and enjoy many local activities such as camping, fishing, hunting, bike riding, and attending events like Millbrook Playhouse, The Clinton County Fair, and The 4H Livestock Auction. The Powers Family has a dog, Theo, a male laberdoodle.
Dr. Powers is active in attending Continuing Education Classes to maintain a knowledge of the most current techniques, technologies, and materials in dentistry and pharmacology to provide the most up-to-date care for his patients.

Went there today for a consultation. They ended up having time to fix 3 of my teeth that were pretty bad. They did an awesome job! Very polite and appropriately priced. Definitely found my new dentist!

I had to go to get a tooth pulled. I was already gassed up from a procedure they call a gross debridement when they came in to they numbed me up, and he yanked that bad tooth right out took less than a minute. Went home and slept like a baby. Just went in again for a filling and it took 30 minutes to get me in and done. I have never liked the dentist, and have always been terrified to go. I am so glad I found this dentist office!!! I told my husband if we ever moved I'd drive just to see Dr. Powers!!

I am currently living in Texas and was visiting my family in Bloomsburg when I developed an incredible toothache. Because I could find no dentist in that area to see me, my sister who is a patient of Dr. Powers, arranged a visit to his office. My problem was corrected immediately and efficiently. I thank Dr. Powers and his staff for helping my problem so that I was able to continue to visit with my family whom I hadn't seen in 2 yrs. KUDOS!!

He might be a good dentist, but I'll never know. His office person Denise was no help ironing out insurance issues. My provider said the doctor was in network. Denise had never heard of them so when she called to verify someone told her "No". After Denise told me that I then called the provider myself and they gave me a special number for the dentist office to call and verify. After informing Denise she then told me, "No, I'm not doing that...." Big help.

Walked in his office at 1:30 in the afternoon with a terrific toothache and in terrible pain. By two o'clock that tooth was extracted and I was on my way home. Could not have asked for anything better from Dr. Powers and his staff. I would recommend to anybody. Oh, by the way, I was not even one of his regular patients.

Absolutely love Dr. Powers and his team. They are all fantastic. The office is exceptionally clean office and the staff is knowledgeable and friendly. I have had a root canal, implant, fillings, extractions, and cleanings in his office. Highly recommend his office to anyone.

I was in pain for 3 days with sleepless nites, cause I didn't have insurance. My pain got so back no over counter pain meds were working any more, so I called Dr. Powers. He saw me right away, They took exrays and found I had an infected tooth and a loose tooth to. He proceeded to give me shots to numb my gums, the pain from him putting needles into my gums hurt so bad I was crying and screaming and shaking so bad, he stopped for one second and said it hurts worst cause it's infected and proceeded to give me more shots and I screamed and cried and shook so bad again and he just kept giving me more shots, and then told me to stop screaming, and nurse told me to squeeze her hand threw the pain. I don't understand why he didn't put me to sleep so I wouldn't suffer. Who could do this to some one.I've had a lot of dential work done in my life, never had an experience like this. It was horrible I'm surprised I didn't have a heart attack, well it didn't seem to matter. I've even had a oral surgery on a wisdom tooth by another Dentist before, where my root was wrapped around my jaw bone didn't have any pain.Being Dr. Powers told me I am hurting more cause of infection, I don't understand why he didn't put me to sleep so I wouldn't suffer. Never will go back.

I am so happy that I found the best dental office. I have to have extensive dental work done and am very embarrassed. I have had a huge fear of dentist all my life and now I can honestly say all my fears are totally gone. Dr Powers and all of his staff are the best and totally understanding and patient. They all make you feel at ease. Love you all so much for everything you have done for me so far and I will definitely come back again and again. Bless you all.

He removed 4 of my wisdom teeth at the same time.. and didn't put me under. As a patient who never had anything other than a routine cleaning, this was very scary for me. I found out afterwards that I should have been put under for this procedure, but instead I got a little gas to "calm my nerves" and drove myself home after having 4 teeth removed. I felt him seriously yanking to get my teeth out. This was a terrible experience for me. I wish I was given the option to be put under. I would never get another procedure done by Dr. Powers again.
