Here, we are a health-based practice, dedicated to identifying and treating decay and preventing oral diseases through encouraging patients to make healthy choices. Thats why we offer a variety of services, including teeth cleanings, cosmetic treatmentsthat give you a vibrant smile, restorative options such as dental implantsthat return strength and function to the teeth, as well as orthodontics. With our convenient location in Niles, MI, we are able to serve patients of all ages across Berrien County and Southwestern Michigan.
After 11 years of working the dental field as a Dental Technologist specializing in orthodontics, and then a licensed Dental Hygienist, Dr. Beckermeyer became a Doctor of Dental Surgery in 1995. Dr. Beckermeyer also enjoys photography, bicycling, and swimming.
The office of Richard L. Beckermeyer, D.D.S., PC. was established in 1996, after we purchased the practice from Dr. Ed Martin. Originally a converted home with three operatories, expansion of our office was inevitable. In 2004 we purchased the land adjacent to Plym Park Golf Course. On March 16, 2006, we had our grand opening for the new building. The building was designed by Dr. Stan Bell, who uniquely incorporated many foundational Christian values.

This was by far the best Dental facility I have ever gone to. The hygienists were incredibly sensitive to my needs. Atmosphere is so relaxing. Appreciated the personal touch immensely.

I absolutely adore Dr Z she an all of her staff went above an beyond to make me feel as comfortable as possible. I am absolutely in love with my new smile. An the look on Dr face when she seen the end result was priceless I think she was as happy as I am. This was my first visit to this dental office. I had some horrible experiences with a dentist many years ago so I stopped going to see dentists. The staff here are very kind, helpful and patient. I could tell that Dr. Zaninovic is very knowledgeable. The news she had to share with me wasn't good at all and the diagnosis left me in shock but she said she will do her best. That's all I could ask. I appreciate her honesty and sincerity. I have some major issues because I have diabetes with an A1C of 13. I didn't know this was affecting my teeth. Now I do. I'm thankful God led me there today. I'm praying that He will intercede.

Don't be fooled by the fancy building! This guy will attempt to do unnecessary work to pay for his overhead. I was told after a visual exam that I had +10 cavities and gingivitis, which confused me because 1 year prior to that visit I had full X-rays and was told that I had perfect teeth. I declined treatment got a second opinion and just as I expected, I was told I had perfect teeth. Another issue, a few years ago I had one of my front teeth capped by him. I had severe damage to my 2 front teeth which required rout canals as a child. Over the years, the teeth became discolored as well as the "filling/mold" they used to repair a large chip (basically. I had a half yellow tooth) Well, when I got the half yellow tooth capped he matched the color to the other discolored front tooth (ding dong). A year or so latter I came back to have the other discolored tooth capped. When he examined me he said "wow, who capped that tooth, it dose not match your other teeth" I said "you did" I bet he felt like a tard. Today, I still have that 1st discolored cap. Thank you Dr. Beckermeyer for misleading my parents and messing up my near perfect mouth (Oh by the way, +7 years latter I'm still cavity free!!!!) One more thing, he drilled one of my family member's teeth when she had no clue there were "problems". She trusted him and proceed with his treatment. Ever since he worked on her mouth she has had pain in those teeth. Bet that work wasn't necessary either! UPDATE: 9 years later (since this post) still no cavities
