Dr. John Richard was born and raised in Brooklyn N.Y. He went to Xaverian High School, then to Brooklyn college where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology. He then attended New York University and studied towards a Masters Degree in Human Anatomy. He then went on to Case western reserve University in Ohio to acquire his dental training. He received his DDS degree in 1988. Dr. Richard then spent the next 15 years in private practice in Brooklyn N.Y. Looking for a better ' Quality if Life' place to live and work, Dr. Richard and his family moved to Lancaster Pa. in 2002. Dr. Richard knew the area well as he had been coming to this area since he was a child, and has seen the many changes to this area over the years. He continued the practice in East Petersburg in 2002 after Dr. Mike Chapman retired. His passion for dentistry continues by attending courses such as cosmetic dentistry, laser dentistry, oral medicine, endodontics, geriatric dentistry and many other areas of dentistry.
He is a member of the American Dental Association, the Pennsylvania Dental Association, the Lancaster County Dental Association, and the Academy of General Dentistry. His wife, Joann has been in the dental field for over 15 years, and works in the office 2 days a week. His son John, is a senior at the University of Pittsburgh, aspiring to attend law school.

Make sure if you pay into yearly special, that you do not move and do not miss your appointment. I missed appt and they refuse to refund me money even though i was going to drive 2 hours away to come to appt as it was already paid for. I told them i was in process of moving, ended up with delayed stuff in storage unit and had no access to my calendar for 2 weeks. It just so happened, appt was scheduled for that time frame. When i called to reschedule, i was told i missed appt, they will not refund me and i need to go find a new dentist. Unprofessional at best and to not refund somebody money when you refuse to now see them, is theft
