Dr. Richard Sellen strives to provide exceptional dental care with a personal touch. Dr. Sellen is a San Jose native who is excited to have the opportunity to practice in his hometown just minutes away from where he grew up.
Dr. Sellenreceived his Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology from Arizona State University. After graduation, he attended dental school at the University of the Pacific in San Francisco where he graduated within the top 15% of his class with honors and received the schools award for Excellence in General Pathology.
To further his training, Dr. Sellen was selected to complete a one-year general practice residency program at Community Regional Medical Center/VA hospital in Fresno, CA. Here he gained advanced knowledge in hospital dentistry, oral surgery, restorative dentistry, and treating medically compromised patients. In order to keep up with current advances in dentistry, Dr. Sellen is committed to post-graduate education and has attended courses throughout the country.
I started working in the office in 2011 and must say how much I enjoy working with such a great team. I have been in dentistry since 1997. Before that I worked as a District Manager for a national retail chain.
When I am not having fun at work, I volunteer with many great organizations. I also love spending time with my amazing husband, talented daughter and wonderful family and friends. I especially love going to sporting events. (Go Giants! Go Sharks!)
Its a pleasure to be a part of Dr. Sellens team. Sharing information, providing dental care, and building rapport with the community is my passion. I started as a dental assistant for ten years before I became a dental hygienist in 2012. I enjoyed my duties as an assistant, but I fell in love with dental hygiene. I am very dedicated to the dental health care profession, ensuring all patients are comfortable, healthy, and leave our practice with a beautiful smile.
I joined this amazing team in September of 2020 and have enjoyed being a part of Dr. Sellens growth and vision. I have been a Registered Dental Assistant since 2004 and have also added an Orthodontic Assistant Permit to my license as well.
I have worked in general dentistry, pediatric, orthodontic and perio offices and have enjoyed bringing that knowledge to this practice. I absolutely love my job and this field and providing our patients with education to better improve, not only their oral health but also their overall health.
I have a degree in Sociology from Sonoma State University and have a passion for helping people. I am so happy to be a part of the team and to meet and get to know patients every day. In my spare time I love to sing and spend time with my family.

I've been coming to this office for over 30 years with great results and can say that since Dr Sellen took over it continues to be first rate health care. I highly recommend Dr Sellen to anyone looking for dental care.

I've been going to Dr. Sellen for 4-5 years. He and his staff are excellent. There are never any hidden charges or "upsale" on work or procedures I don't need. He and his staff also make safety a top priority in our COVID New World, which is reassuring. I've recommended Dr. Sellen to multiple people, he's the best.

Just had my first appointment with Dr. Sellen and his staff, and it was one of the best dental experiences I've had. Kept me well informed, had great bedside manner and was very accommodating to my dental history. If you are in the San Jose greater area, I'd definitely recommend trying this place out.

The care and treatment I received from Fellor was very good and reassuring. I had severe pain in my gums and Fellor was able to clean all my teeth and relieve the pain I was having and now my gums are healthy and my teeth are cavity free. She was also super nice when i came in for my checkup and she was kind enough to have conversations with me about my personal life.
