Dr. Richard Chan is a native of Kent, Washington. He received his dental degree from the UCLA College of Dentistry in Los Angeles, California. He then went on to complete his orthodontic specialty training at Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio (Go Buckeyes!). He specializes in orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics for adults, teens and children. Hes a firm believer in technology, which is why hes trained in a variety of cutting-edge techniques such as Invisalign, ceramic braces, the use of temporary anchorage devices (TADS), soft tissue lasers and self-ligating braces including the Damon system. If something can make treatment speedier, safer and more effective for his patients, you better believe Dr. Chan is on top of it!
Dr. Chan is currently a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, the American Dental Association and the Washington State Dental Association and engages in continuing education to keep his skills extra sharp.
Dr. Chan takes a personalized approach to his patients care so they have a great orthodontic experience and are able to uncover the smiles they deserve. He enjoys interacting with his patients and their families and being a part of their lives. He knows that a lot of people would love straight teeth but cant afford it. Hes on a mission to change that by making high-quality treatment work for any budget.
When Dr. Chan isnt focused on teeth, you can usually find him with his wife and three children. The Chan family lives in Kirkland, Washington where theyre involved with the community and church. They love taking advantage of the beautiful natural scenery by getting outdoors as much as possible and spending time with friends and family.

Richard Chan's Orthodontics was such an amazing experience for me. They really work with you and really care about you as a client. I've had my braces for 2 1/2 years and EVER. SINGLE. VISIT. was so pleasant, the assistants are kind and informative. I was able to communicate my concerns and I would received lovely reassurance. overall they are extremely professional, friendly, and great to work with! Thank you Richard Chan!

I believe Dr. Richard Chan made his ten employees lied to the court: 1. Jennifer Banuelos, orthodontic clinician; 2. Belen Duron, receptionist; 3. Stephanie McGee, office manager; 4. Vanessa Fife, new patient coordinator; 5. Natalie Gutierrez, orthodontic clinician; 6. Isabella Sheka, orthodontic clinician; 7. Nicki Smith, orthodontic clinician; 8. Nicole Cash, receptionist; 9. Rhonda Lennon, a front office staff; 10. Lucy Lopez, orthodontic clinician. I'll give reasons & evidence why I believe that, and everyone with normal sense will think they are not honest.

I believe Dr. Richard Chan hired his upstairs business partner, Hello Kids Dentistry, to provide false evidence to the court. I reported what Dr. Richard Chan & Hello Kids did to the Attorney General's Office on 4/18/2022. I would recommend avoiding them entirely. Facts: (1). I never entered their clinic, but Hello Kids told the court they had "personal interactions" with me. (2). When I asked for the voice recordings, the officer manager, Alina Mager, replied to me on 3/25/2022 that they "have no access to any recordings over one year old from the current date". (3). Isabel Rodriguez, their dental assistant, only treated my son once in 2019 and my wife totally visited their clinic twice and both visits were in 2019. How can she still remember my wife in 2022? (4). And more......

My experiences were over the last 2 and half years have been wonderful. Dr.Chan and his dental assistants were very professional and very friendly during all of my several visits. I definitely recommend starting your orthodontic journey here.

Richard is incredible and has saved me from getting unnecessary jaw surgery due to an underbite issue. I have gone to a few Orthodontist who only said I could do metal braces and have surgery. I went to see Richard and he said that I didn't need that and that invisalign would do the trick. I started my treatment a year ago and my underbite has been fixed and my teeth so far look amazing! I am almost done with treatment and I'm so grateful that he was able to fix my teeth so easily and has been so kind and informative of my treatment. I would recommend him to anyone. I live a almost 2 hours away but it's worth the drive for his work!

Highly recommend making an appointment and checking them out your if youre thinking about any ortho. (PS They got multiple offices btw so you can find one closer to you)

Most amazing orthodontist and office around! Staff is so kind and friendly and always so helpful! During this whole pandemic my kids have been going in by themselves and they have always reminded them to schedul their follow ups as they leave. Dr Chan has explained everything to them as the process has gone along! Recommend them to anyone who asks!

After extensive research, I decided to go with Dr. CHAN. As an adult with extremely crooked teeth I was desperate to get my teeth fixed but couldn't afford to pay in full. This office will work with your budget and everyone in the office is so friendly. The receptionist even remembers my name and calls as so everytime we come in.. I'm extremely happy with the results and now my daughter is in getting braces with Dr Chan... my son will be next. Highly recommend

My son has been a patient of Dr. Chan's for the last two and half years. He just got his braces off yesterday and we are pleased with the results!!! His teeth look great! As a mom, of course I am happy that my son ended up with a good smile, but just as important to me was the level of comfort for my son during this period of time. He has many sensitivities and anxieties for medical procedures. Dr. Chan and his staff were so terrific, patient, and positive with my son. Some appointments just took a bit more time, but the staff gracefully worked through each session, explaining and encouraging all the way! When we first started looking for an orthodontist we visited a couple of offices. Although the other offices were nice, my son and I noticed an immediate difference with Dr. Chan's office. The other doctors and staff at the other clinics spoke directly to me, "selling" their business. They spoke highly of their "point system" where my son could earn spending power on a credit card (of course I realized that ultimately that extra cost gets passed onto the patients and their parents- Gimmick!). When meeting with Dr. Chan, he spoke directly to the patient, my son! Dr. Chan kindly explained everything and asked my son if he had any questions. After that first visit my son and I left feeling very comfortable and confident in Richard Chan Orthodontics. In the beginning, I was quite nervous about my son getting braces because of his sensitivities. I explained this when we first visited Dr. Chan's office. I never had to remind them of this! They always took care, making sure that my son was comfortable and they always treated him like a VIP! So, if you are faced with getting braces for your kids- even if they are sensitive people, like my son you can be assured that you will be be happy with the care from Dr. Chan!! The Dr. is wonderful and you can tell he finds staff who are patient, calm and kind, like him, to work in his office! It was a bonus that the Mill Creek office is just minutes away from our home! So, you may be thinking... what about the price for all of this wonderful individualized care??? MUCH less that the other two we visited?? Dr. Chan's office was willing to work with our insurance and by being flexible, created a payment plan that actually ended up being MUCH less out of pocket for our family!!!!! I'm so glad our family chose Dr. Chan's clinic! If our second child needs braces, we already know we'll be going back to Richard Chan's Orthodontics!!!!
