Dr. Ronald K. Rich attended Baylor University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in biology. He continued his education at the University of Texas School of Dentistry in Houston, and graduated with honors in 1983. He was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society. Dr. Rich began practicing in Sugar Landfollowing his graduation from dental school.

Continuing education is very important to Dr. Rich. He has received advanced training from the L.D. Pankey Institute (one of the top postdoctoral educational institutes for dentists), and he has earned fellowship and mastership in the Academy of General Dentistry. Dr. Rich has received the Top Dentist in Texas Award, and been published in Texas Monthly from 2007-2018.

As a dentist, Dr. Richs goal is to provide his patients with the highest quality of dental care in a warm and caring environment, to treat his patients like family, and to help them achieve a lifetime of good oral health. He is committed to providing dental treatment that looks good, feels good, and lasts a long time. He is a certified CEREC provider in Sugar Land.

Dr. Ronald K. Rich has achieved both fellowship and mastership in the Academy of General Dentistry. These designations are among the most distinguished and rigorous achievements in continuing dental education programs. A dentist who has been recognized as a Fellow (FAGD) has been recognized as a leader and an example of the importance of quality continuing dental education to patient care. A Master (MAGD) has completed demanding and structured requirements involving all areas of dentistry.

To earn a fellowship award, a dentist must earn a minimum of 500 approved continuing dental education credits, and pass a comprehensive, 400-question exam, as well as be a member of the AGD for three continuous years. Earning a fellowship helps dentists to stay up to date on the latest research and techniques in dentistry, and to incorporate these skills into their practices.

To obtain a mastership, a dentist must first be a fellow. Then he or she must earn an additional 600 continuing education credits, including 400 hours of hands-on courses, leading to a total of 1,100 hours of continuing education. Masters in the AGD have studied 16 different disciplines of dentistry, including periodontics, orthodontics, and implants.

Fellows and masters of the AGD pursue continued dental education throughout their entire lives in order to provide the highest quality of care to their patients. Patients who visit dentists who hold these distinctions can be certain that their dentist is dedicated to providing them with the best possible care.
