Dr. Sarah Prehn is originally from Kingston, NY. Her mother worked as a dental assistant, and after shadowing her in high school at the office, she knew she wanted to be a dentist. Dr. Prehn completed her undergraduate degree at the State University of New York at New Paltz. She then went on to graduate with a Doctorate of Dental Surgery from New York University as the top woman in her class, and obtained her Orthodontic Certificate from Saint Barnabas Hospital in Bronx, NY. After residency, Dr. Prehn became a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics. To further her dental knowledge, Dr. Prehn attends conferences and courses throughout the year. Her most recent coursework includes completing an advanced fellowship in clear aligner treatment. Dr. Prehn is also a member of the American Association of Orthodontics, Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honors Society, the American Dental Association and the Pennsylvania Dental Association.

When asked why she chose orthodontics as her profession, Dr. Prehn said: Practicing orthodontics allows me to help people in many ways. Some people seeking treatment are unhappy with the position of their teeth and want to straighten them for aesthetic purposes. For these patients, giving them the smile of their dreams gives them self-confidence. Other people are looking to correct more serious problems that affect eating, speaking and tasks that help them function in life. Whether their problem is mild or severe, it is so rewarding to see patients walking out of the office feeling happy about their treatment.

Dr. Prehn now lives in Wynnewood, PA with her husband, Joseph and her kitten, Maisie. When she isnt working, you can usually find her outside running. Her other favorite pastimes include going to musical concerts, traveling, reading and spending time with friends and family. Dr. Prehn is a singer and plays the trombone and piano. In addition to her work in the office, Dr. Prehn volunteers her time at local health fairs, performing dental screenings and teaching people about keeping their teeth healthy. She is also an active member in her church, getting to know her neighbors and giving back to the community.

As someone who gets there braces done there, I feel like there should be more color options... all the colors get boring and none are really fun. But except that, i love this orthodontist.

The staff is amazing and are doing the very best they can in a setting where they are completely overwhelmed with an influx of patients and an antiquated system. However office visits take very long and are a little unorganized.

I usually take my son to the Upper Darby location but they were booked up for almost 2 months put. I reluctantly agreeded to drive almost 1hr to the Langhorne location, and it was pleasant experience.4 starts because I was annoyed after arriving at 9:50am for my son's 10:30am appointment he was not seen until 11:30am. I waited in the car to be on the safe side for COVID-19 social distancing. I can say that this is a professional environment with friendly staff who went the extra mile for my son who has Autism. They understood that they needed to make this a non-tramatic and calm experience for him. COVID-19 precautions requirements upheld. The staff wore masks and face shields and there is a sign on the front door reminding clients to wear a mask, there is also hand sanitizer on the counter and a safety shield between you & the receptionist. I didn't sit inside so I cannot say how they maintained social distancing in the office.

Worst Orthodontist Office I've been to. They were not helpful and nobody seems to know what's going on. I tried to take my sister here because we moved and wanted to find a closer ortho office to our home. They initially told us that her insurance would work but sent us back on the first visit because they needed her records from her previous office. This took about 4 months for whatever reason. Meanwhile, my sister's wires are breaking off and just very uncomfortable to have in that way. They finally got the records and they scheduled us to come in. They never called us back to let us know what the update was. After a month, I called and was told that they are not taking her insurance for new patients with "continuous care". Am I mistaken or did they know she had braces from the very start? They took her pictures, examined her mouth, heck, I even filled it out on the forms (which I had to do twice because they misplaced it the first time). The doctor recommended "continuation of care" when he spoke to me after examining her. So why did we spend 6 months at one office to waste our time? They then had the audacity to ask us to pay for it out of pocket. Why? When she has insurance? Very poor service, poor problem resolution and 0% helpful.
