Dr. Gaitan obtained the Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree and completed Orthodontic Externship Program in 1997 at the University of Maryland at Baltimore. He then completed his Orthodontic Mini-Residency Program in the Department of Orthodontics at the University of Washington School of Dentistry in 2000.
In 2005, Dr. Gaitan was recognized with the TUMI USA AWARD in Miami, Florida, for his notable contributions to the Peruvian Community in the US and as an Outstanding Peruvian Professional in the State of Virginia. He treats patients at his practices in Virginia and works as an Orthodontic Consultant at his practice in Lima, Peru.
Dr. Gaitan and his younger brother Jorge were born in Lima, Peru, and were raised in a family with an attraction to Dentistry. Their father and mentor, Dr. Sixto Gaitan Ortiz, was an Orthodontist and their main inspiration. Together, they completed their studies at San Marcos University in Peru.
After their schooling, Dr. Gaitan moved to the US to pursue post-grad studies at the University of Maryland. Jorge remained in Peru and is a successful General Practitioner and Faculty Member at their Alma Mater. After additional academic and professional experiences, they decided to practice in different areas of dentistry with the quality and professionalism learned from their father.
Dr. Gaitan resides in Northern Virginia with his wife Nancy and has three sons. Erick, Doctor of Chiropractic, Graduate from Life University, Ricardo Jr., Dental Student at Howard University, and David, student of pre-medicine at Virginia Commonwealth University.
Dr. Kopal Agarwal is a general dentist in Sterling VA. She graduated from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, Boston MA with Doctor of Dental Medicine and Bachelor of Dental Surgery from Meerut University, India. She practiced as a General Dentist in India before attending Tufts University, where she received rigorous training in General Dentistry.She has volunteered at several non-profit dental camps.
She is caring and compassionate with a goal of providing the highest standard of dental care to each of her patients. She enjoys treating adult and pediatric patients. In her free time, Dr. Agarwal enjoys spending time with her family and friends.

Dr Ricardo Gaitan is very good Dentist, but staff is very BAD, doesn't have common sense, 8 years old is going in side but staff doesn't allow mother or father go with her, appointment was 1:00 pm nobody at counter, when I call 3rd time then one lady show up, she was telling me we are eating lunch, just wait.. staff is very RUDE so I don't recommend anyone to go there if you like to be insult then go head. My all appointments is canceled by me.. all family... Dr need to take some action to her Staff. Thank you for reading.

Dr Gaitan has been our family dentist and orthodontist for almost 20 years He is great, friendly and his staff work with him as a team to make you feel comfortable even in complicated procedures. He get things done and I have never been desappointed of any job he has done for our whole family

Please note: Dr. Ricardo is not a dentist, he is a crook who's staff will lure you into backoffice, without telling you the cost/price. He will give you a lengthy /unnecessary talk and then the Chines ... will come and quote you an exorbitant price. If you refuse the treatment, you are still stuck with some unknown fee, that will be reported to the credit bureau if you don't pay. I am a seventy year old guy, who needed a minor filling. I was quoted close to a thousand dollars in addition to my insurance. I refused the treatment, two months later I am getting the bill $134.00. This dentist is being reported to Better Business Bureau, Consumer Affairs and Virginia Dentist Association. Don't fall into trap! Dabeer Mallik
