Dr. Jamie Reynolds grew up in Lake Orion, MI. Following High School, he attended the University of Michigan for both his undergraduate and Dental School studies. While at Michigan, he was a member of the mens volleyball team, where he earned both team captain and All-Big 10 honors. Following dental school, Dr. Reynolds attended the University of Detroit-Mercy, where he earned a masters degree in orthodontics. Dr. Reynolds is a Board-Certified Orthodontist who lectures nationally and internationally on orthodontic technology and efficiency. He proudly participates in prestigious study groups and is a member of several orthodontic societies, including the American Dental Association and the American Association of Orthodontics. Dr. Reynolds founded the Metro Detroit chapters of Smile for a Lifetime and Smiles Change Lives, both of which provide orthodontic scholarships to families in need. Dr. Reynolds lives locally with his wife Dawn and their three children. In his spare time, he enjoys traveling, reading, playing volleyball, watching Michigan Football, and being a beach bum.
Dr. Leah Vernacchia grew up in Northville, MI. She graduated from Northville High School and then became a Michigan State Spartan Go Green! After graduating with high honors from MSU with a degree in Human Biology and a concentration in Bioethics, Humanities & Society, she began at the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry. During that time, she participated in philanthropic outreach events such as Give Kids A Smile day, a mission trip to Central America, and volunteer dentistry in downtown Detroit. Dr. Leah completed her Orthodontic residency at Rutgers School of Dental Medicine in New Jersey, where she was the Chief Resident. Dr. Leah is married to Andy Vernacchia, another Northville native! Dr. Leah is an active member of the American Association of Orthodontists, Michigan Association of Orthodontists, American Dental Association, and Michigan Dental Association. Dr. Leah enjoys spending time with family & friends, traveling, skiing and reading.
Dr. Jennifer Bonamici grew up on the island of Grosse Ile, Michigan where she graduated as her class Valedictorian. She completed her bachelors degree in Human Biology at Michigan State University and still enjoys cheering on the Spartans! At graduation, she was awarded the Board of Trustees Award for graduating in the top 1% at MSU. Dr. Bonamici decided to further her education in the field of dentistry and attended the University of Detroit Mercy. While she was in dental school, she earned the National Award of Excellence from the American Student Dental Association for her dedication to patient care and for her involvement in various organizations. She proceeded to attend the University of Minnesota for her orthodontic residency where she was elected to be her class representative. After graduation, she moved back home to the Metro-Detroit area and married her husband, Benjamin Underwood. Dr. Bonamici is an active member of the American Association of Orthodontists, Michigan Association of Orthodontists, American Dental Association, and Michigan Dental Association. Dr. Bonamici loves spending time golfing, cooking new recipes, trying new restaurants, traveling, and enjoying outdoor activities in all of Michigans four seasons.
Dr. Lizzy was born and raised a Michigander, growing up in Ann Arbor, MI. She attended Pioneer high school and spent much of her free time participating in athletics including figure skating and rowing. She then attended the University of Miami, where she received a Bachelors degree in Neuroscience with a minor in art while competing on the varsity womens rowing team. While in college, she also joined a non-profit organization called Bike and Build, through which biked cross-country to raise money for and build homes with Habitat for Humanity. She met her now-husband, Brandon through this organization. Dr. Lizzy then returned home to Ann Arbor and earned her DDS degree at the University of Michigan. She is currently completing her master's program in orthodontics at the University of Michigan. In her free time, Dr. Lizzy enjoys traveling, reading, gardening, and spending time with her husband and their young son, Everett.
DR. LARRY SPILLANE grew up in Livonia, MI and attended Detroit Catholic Central High School. After high school, Dr. Spillane attended the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor and received his undergraduate (BA-Pyschology) and Dental School (D.D.S.) degrees. He went on to complete a three-year residency program to earn his Masters degree also from the University of Michigan. Obviously, after 11 years, Dr. Spillane is a big UM fan. Go Blue!
Dr Spillane opened his first orthodontic practice in Novi(1991). In 2002, Dr. Jamie Reynolds joined the practice and together they expanded to 4 offices and 50+ Team members. Throughout 30+ years, Dr. Spillane has helped create a legacy of world-class orthodontic care, education of orthodontists and philanthropy to help our community.
Dr. Spillane retired in 2020. He would like to thank all his patients, families and team members for their trust and confidence in allowing him the opportunity to help create thousands of Amazing Smiles over the years.

I was bringing my daughters here for a consult. Just first impression felt like a "used car dealership" hustle to get clients to sign up (if you sign up today, we will give you a discount, and put a deposit to lock your deal). They felt very pushy. Also, their cost compared to where we ended up going to was really expensive. Probably because they try to entice the kids with cookies, fancy waterbottles, and things. My big complaint was the woman who was working with us. I was there with my ex-wife and the woman only talked to her. I was making eye contact to be in the conversation. At one point, the woman told me that I have an underbite (which I don't. I had braces as a kid and was never treated for it. My dentist even confirmed asking just for curiosity, and said I dont.) The woman was saying my daughter has an underbite because of me. Again, throughout the explanation of therapy for my daughters, I am still left out of the conversation. It was finally when it came time to go over insurance for the girls, she asked ma'am is this going on your insurance? Nope. My wife and I have dual insurance and it was going under ours. At that point everything changed to my attention and talking all nice to me by then. I felt very put off. At this point I wrote this place off for sure. Customer service is horrible. Also, you don't see just one orthodontist. You would see others that work under the main orthodontist. It didn't feel like a personal experience. I just felt like another number in their system. I don't recommend this practice. There are many other fine orthodontist practices out there.

Fantastic office, the kindest staff you will ever meet. My kids and I have come out of their appts laughing and smiling each time. I highly recommend!

Overall I'm satisfied but was frustrated because the treatment plan took an additional 9 or so months to fix 1 tooth which was the main reason I got braces a second time. The rest of my teeth were pretty straight but because the 1 tooth was overlapping another tooth and was very obvious I decided to just go for it. It took months and many aligners to move it to where it was satisfactory but not perfect. Dr. Leah worked diligently with me to get it to where I was happy but honestly it took way too long and I still feel its not lined up so that its symmetrical with the other side.

horrible appointment times. have to negotiate every time for a later appointment because of working parents. they do not own up to their mistakes, and had to call several times because they did not tell me how to put on my rubber bands when they gave me a new pattern. not worth the money.

I had a consultation with Dr. Spillane some time ago, (free of charge). I believe Dr. Spillane gave me his honest opinion, and I appreciate that, even though it was not exactly what I wanted to hear.

Loved this place! I can honestly say I've never had a bad experience in the whole 2 years I had my braces. Staff was ALWAYS friendly and the fresh baked cookies were a plus.

Love this orthodontist!! They are so friendly helpful and the office is very clean! I went here when I was a teenager and now my son goes I will be having my girls go here also! I highly recommend.

We have been going to this awesome office for years- all 3 of my kids and I are patients here. We always look forward to everyone's smiling faces and kind, helpful personalities from the time we walk in the door until the time we leave. My kids are always excited to earn their "bucks" and enter various contests. I can't wait until our treatments are done and we all have amazing smiles :)

I can't say enough about the quality of care provided by the office of Drs. Spillane and Reynolds. As a dentist who worked in the Novi area for several years, I referred hundreds of patients and was consistently impressed with the results when patients would return for recall visits. When it came time for my two oldest children to begin orthodontic treatment, we chose Spillane and Reynolds for their care. Throughout the entire process, the doctors and staff were highly professional and very meticulous. No question went unanswered. We couldn't have asked for a better outcome. The end result was two very happy teenagers with beautiful smiles!

Honestly you can't win them all. This office has really irritated me multiple times. First of all, don't miss an appointment or else they won't be able to get you in for a full month. I feel like this office cares more about making money and getting the most patients than anything else. They've made me feel like a joke. Also they put braces on me and didn't even explain at all how to floss with braces, how to use anything that they gave me in the kit. They almost forgot to put the rubberbands in the bag, I had to ask. For the $5000 I have had to spend on my treatment, I'm less than impressed. I'm hoping my teeth look amazing after this, that's the only way I'm changing my review.
