I almost never write reviews, and then only positive ones, so I'm not happy to write this one. I visited Revive on three occasions, first on an urgent appointment after my tooth was chipped, then to have a crown placed (after Dr. Mortazie examined me on the initial visit and pointed at that an old filling was deteriorating), and finally to have a root canal performed under the crown after I continued to have pain there. I have no complaints about the care, which I can only assume was appropriate, although I suppose it may have been a red flag that this nicely appointed office had no trouble fitting me in for a same-day appointment, which lasted easily an hour and a half. I paid my co-payments in cash on each occasion (well over $1000 for the latter visits). Unfortunately, I then began to receive a series of additional bills describing additional charges I was asked to pay. I would always call to discuss these with their office, and in most cases these conversations were confusing, but generally resulted with Revive stating the charged amount was not correct, they would be re-reviewing it, and I need not pay any amount until I heard from them again. A month or two later I would receive another bill (usually for the same amount or more) and the process would repeat. I also spoke with my insurance on numerous occasions, and they tried to arbitrate, but told me that the Revive office staff were unhelpful and didn't seem to be "getting it." This process went around and around many times over a period of months, and I kept receiving different bills showing different line items, but the balance never got smaller and indeed seemed to keep growing. I usually try to assume that people are incompetent before they are evil, but in the end it seems undeniable that Revive Dentistry does not do its billing in good faith. To summarize, they answer questions confusingly and obfuscate intentionally. They bill in-network claims as out-of-network until repeatedly confronted about it. Their billing statements have little connection to reality and are continually being altered, making them impossible to correct (i.e. rather than errors on one statement being corrected, an entirely new statement will later appear with different errors). These issues make it difficult if not impossible to understand and address their billing claims. They seem to believe that via obfuscation and persistence they can convince patients to pay sums for which they should not be responsible. They "unbundle" claims that should be bundled (which is a violation of both public and private insurance agreements) and they "balance bill" for the unpaid portion of insurance claims. (As an in-network provider for United Concordia, any amount of payment beyond my copay which is denied by the insurance should not be billed to me -- that's the point of the network -- but that's what happened. When addressed, they pointed to their office paperwork where I signed that I would be ultimately responsible for anything they chose to bill, and denied having any such agreement with my insurance.) In the medical field, these practices are described on a spectrum of "fraud, waste, and abuse," and Revive certainly seems to be pushing the line of abuse. It should have been a red flag that they appear to have three full time front-office staff who I assume do nothing but schedule appointments and pursue billing. Their appointment schedule is obviously light, because you can easily get an appointment at almost any time, yet they obviously make good money (this is a plush, spa-like office), so presumably this is by performing high-dollar procedures and taking the time to milk every possible dollar from billing. The care is good, but not worth it. Steer widely clear. I've referred them to the investigations department at Concordia as well.

Don't even dare to go there without insurance. We were ripped off at least twice having only Careington dental plan this dentistry claims to participate, it ended up with $1k for screening and two fillings. The person in front desk suddenly became rude once we attempted to find out any reasonable explanations of that. On the bright side I have no complains on the quality of the service itself.

Dr. Yazdani was great. I am terrified of dentists and she was thoughtful and careful. I had an emergency and even though I had never been there before they immediately accommodated me. I would recommend her to anyone who is looking for a new dentist. You do not have to worry about wasting time and money with the wrong doctor . Her prices were comparable and reasonable.
