Restore Prosthodontics & Implant Center was founded by prosthodontist Dr. Derrick Thomas. Our mission is to empower our patients with a healthy pleasing smile promoting confidence, wellness, and improvement in their lives. We are committed to providing the highest quality prosthodontic care in a compassionate, life-lifting environment.
Dr. Thomas is a dental specialist in prosthodontics. He received his doctorate of dental surgery from the University of Tennessee. Following completion of his dental degree, he went on to complete a three year residency program in Houston at the University of Texas becoming a specialist in Prosthodontics. Dr. Thomas has a special interest in oral rehabilitation and replacement of missing teeth. His areas of focus include, full mouth rehabilitation, implant dentistry, fixed and removable prosthodontics.
Dr. Thomas is highly involved in education to ensure he is on the forefront of his field. He served three years as an instructor to dental students teaching them the fundamentals of prosthodontics in both laboratory and clinical settings. He frequently lectures to both general dentists and dental specialists. He maintains affiliations with local, national, and international organized dentistry and prosthodontics.
Following completion of his residency training, Dr. Thomas and his wife Megan moved back to their home town of Knoxville, TN. Dr. Thomas opened Restore Prosthodontics & Implant Center in 2020 bringing the highest quality and latest technology that dentistry has to offer to their home town. Let me start by saying... "I do not like going to the dentist!", but the doctor and his team were very kind and knowledgeable. Dr. Thomas was VERY thorough. I appreciated his patients and how he spoke to me in layman's terms. I really felt like he had my best interest at heart. Over all, they made my experience a lot more enjoyable. I would highly recommend.

I was referred to Dr. Thomas by my dentist. It was my first appt with him. During my appt, we talked about my dental issues and what he could do to correct them. Dr. Thomas was very kind, thorough and explained to me in a language that I could understand and answered all of my questions. I am confident that my future appts will be above par.

Dr. Thomas is amazing! He repaired my dental implants after 3 different dentists told me the implants could not be repaired. All of the other dentists wanted to remove the implants and place new ones. He said that was not a good option for an 85 year old. He took the time to examine my old implants and figured out how to repair them. He was able to order new posts and had them the next day. He meticulously cleaned the area, placed the new posts and reconfigured my dentures so they would fit the new posts. I had not been able to wear my dentures for 8 months because I had given up hope of ever having them fixed. He is a miracle worker!! He deserves 10 stars!!
