Great care has been given to the design of Restoration Dentistry. One of the most notable details is the light. Dr. Norvell and Kami are lovers of natural light, and the high ceilings combined with the floor-to-ceiling windows from front to back drench the space in light. In combination with the light, the windows provide a view of the protected green space approximating the building. Not only is the view quiet and serene, but it provides a wonderful canvas of color throughout the year.

As people who love mother nature, the practice is outfitted with many natural textures and colors. In an effort to bring that beautiful view close, Kami has filled the space with live plants signifying life and clean air. The floors are sealed concrete. There are varieties of wood textures, vibrant colors, and open air to provide a relaxing environment.

Prosthodontics is a recognized dental specialty pertaining to the diagnosis, treatment planning, rehabilitation, and maintenance of the oral function, comfort, appearance, and health of patients with clinical conditions associated with missing or deficient teeth and/or oral and maxillofacial tissues.

A prosthodontist is a dentist who has completed dental school plus at least three additional years of advanced training and education in an CODA-accredited prosthodontic graduate program. They specialize in treating and handling dental and facial problems that involve restoring missing tooth and jaw structures. A prosthodontist is highly trained in cosmetics, dental implants, crowns, bridges, dentures, temporomandibular disorders (TMJ/TMD), and more.

The term prostho means replacement and dontist means dealing with teeth. Essentially, prosthodontists are THE recognized experts when anything needs to be replaced in your mouth. This can range from a single tooth, multiple teeth, or all teeth and gums in the mouth. While many other dentists can do some of these treatments, prosthodontists are the specialists dedicated to this type of care.

Prosthodontists have advanced training in restoring and replacing teeth. Prosthodontists are considered the leaders of the dental treatment plan. They regularly lead teams of general dentists, specialists, and other health professionals to develop solutions for your dental needs.

Choose a prosthodontist because of their advanced education and training, efficiency, and expertise with advanced technology. Prosthodontists are extensively trained in state-of-the-art techniques and procedures for treating complex dental conditions and restoring optimum function and esthetics.

A dental laboratory technician is a trained professional that fabricates dental restorations, crowns, bridges, anddenturesbased on designs and instructions provided by a prosthodontist. Certification is awarded by the National Board for Certification in Dental Laboratory Technology and is achieved in one of seven disciplines. A passing grade is required on each of the following: a practical examination, a general written examination, and a discipline-specific written examination.

He had the opportunity to watch his dentist deliver a full-mouth rehabilitation to a woman who had victoriously recovered from addiction. Seeing her immediate reaction of joy and gratitude changed multiple lives that day. The very idea that restoration and life change could be delivered through dentistry set an inextinguishable fire in Nick to make that his career goal.

Dr. Nick went on to complete Dental School at theUniversity of Tennessee Health Science Center and was accepted into UTs Advanced Prosthodontic Residency. In residency alone, Dr. Nick had life-changing opportunities. He was able to care for pediatric denture patients, plan and deliver full-mouth crown and bridge treatment to a military veteran and future physician with a lifetime of dental anomaly, and bond with countless patients through hours of chair-side therapy. It was during this time that he discovered his love of dental laboratory technology which led to him to become a Certified Dental Technician.
