Dr. Monica A. Neshat, a Northern Virginia native, earned her Bachelor of Science from The George Washington University and her Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the Medical College of Virginia School of Dentistry. Dr. Neshat is a high-energy and intensely focused person. Her passion and enthusiasm for dentistry, and her sincere interest in her patients is contagious. She has never been satisfied with the status quo and always strives for excellence. Dr. Neshat feels the truest measure of a doctor's commitment to their patients is the continued education and training far beyond the basics of general dentistry. She is continuously educating herself by taking countless hours of continuing education, lectures, and hands-on courses in the latest dental advances. Dr. Neshat is dedicated to providing outstanding dental care and an exceptional dental experience for her patients.
After researching several postgraduate teaching facilities, Dr. Neshat chose the world-renowned Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies (LVI) - the epicenter of cutting edge dentistry. She found that LVI teaches the most advanced procedures and techniques including the 'Extreme Makeover' smiles that have become so popular. She has completed several advanced education courses at LVI focusing on state-of-the-art aesthetic, restorative, and TMJ (jaw joint) techniques.
Needless to say, Dr. Neshat loves being a dentist. She is open and honest, and her female touch and appreciation for excellence makes her patients feel instantly at ease. Dr. Joy C. Jang graduated from the University of Manitoba, Canada with a Bachelor of Science in 1996 and a Doctorate of Dental Medicine (DMD) in 2000. She practiced dentistry in Berkeley, California for over ten years, relocating to Northern Virginia with her husband Tony and four-year old daughter in 2010. All the while, she has participated in thousands of hours of continuing education to stay abreast of the latest techniques and developments in dental science.
Dr. Jang is an expert in gnathology, or the Science of Occlusion, the study of the movements of the jaw in relation to the bite and one of the most complex and difficult subjects in dentistry. To provide better health and greater smiles in her practice, she incorporates many aspects of dentistry, including cosmetics, periodontal treatments, root canal therapies, surgical extractions, dentures, and orthodontics, giving special attention to temporomandibular joint (TMJ), cranial, and airway issues.
Dr. Jang considers dentistry to be more than a profession. She truly enjoys seeing how her work improves the quality of lifefor her patients. Jessica is very compassionate about helping patients achieve their goals while building long lasting relationships. She has been working in dental for 12 years. She is happy to help our patients with everything from billing to answering questions about how to maximize your dental insurance benefits. Jessica has lived in Northern Virginia her whole life and likes grilling and spending time with her husband and 3 kids.
Farnaz has been working in dental for 4 years. She is wonderful at finding out your dental insurance benefits and being able to help with any insurance questions you may have. Farnaz enjoys spending time with her family, hiking, working out and being with her dog.
Aubrey has been working in dental for 7 years. Her great energy and cheerful personality are sure to make anyone smile! She is happy to help in whether it is answering any questions you may have, getting our patients scheduled and helping the office to run smoothly. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her adorable little boys and travelling!
Whether on the phone or face to face, Casey is always ready to assist our patients with a smile. Casey has been working in dental since 2015. She enjoys photography, anything outdoors and spending time with her husband and their Doberman.
Bri has been working in dental for 7 years and has been a great addition to our team! Whether it is helping patients with their insurance, billing or other questions at the office, Bri is always willing to lend a helping hand with a smile on her face. She enjoys spending time with her boyfriend, their children and puppy who always keep her busy!
Martha enjoys making patients smile with her sweet compliments and greatly enjoys working in the fun and positive environment of our practice! When she isn't here assisting our doctors, she enjoys dancing and spending time with her friends.
Tatyana has been a dental assistant since 2000. She is an integral member of our team where her exceptional clinical experience is welcomed. She loves working with our patients to achieve and maintain great oral health. Always friendly, Tatyana can answer your questions and quell any anxiety you may have.
Jessica studied dental hygiene at Northern Virginia Community college. She is a wonderful addition to our team. Her exceptional clinical skills and absolute devotion to patient health and education have made her instrumental to our practice. Jessica enjoys gardening, traveling & volunteering at the animal shelter.
Katiestudied dental hygiene at West Virginia University and graduated in 2010. She is a splendid addition to our team.Katie takes great pride in offering the most advanced treatment and dental care available. Her goal is to educate and inform her patients of their dental needs. Her favorite thing about Reston Family and Cosmetic Dentistry is the great work environment, the friendly staff and that she has the latest equipment available so she is able to perform at her skill level. Katie loves to travel and when not at work you are most likely to find her on the soccer field.
Sharais extremely passionate about her work, and strives to help her patients with not only their oral health, but overall well-being. Her experience with periodontal treatment and holistic practices allows her to excel in preventative dental therapies, while maintaining both a gentle touch and thorough care. Shara grew up in Northern Virginia and enjoys spending free time with her family.
Benaz is the mother of Dr. Monica Neshat. She is an elemental member of our team, always brightening our day. She comes in a few times a week to say hello to our patients and help out at the front desk. Make sure to say hello at your next visit! You may even see her out and about in Reston!

This is the first dentist in the Reston area that I feel comfortable returning to! Professional, knowledgeable and compassionate. Friendly and organized front desk staff. I was given helpful suggestions rather than scolded as I feel many other hygienists and dentists have done. Thanks so much!

Reston Family Dentistry is a top-notch practice. The office is immaculate, the staff incredibly pleasant and knowledgeable - and as a patient - you feel appreciated and so well-taken care of. Dr. Neshat is highly skilled and so personable; hygienists Katie and Susie are the sweetest and make you feel right at home. I learn something useful and new at every check-up. Aubrey at the front desk is another set of smiling eyes to welcome you. :) From start to finish, the experience is so wonderful. Scam artists! They tried to convince me I needed five fillings now and another five needed to be watched carefully. I scheduled the appointments for the fillings, but also asked for copies of my x-rays. The dentist had pointed at my x-rays when they were trying to convince me of decay. I sent those x-rays to multiple other dentists who said there was no indications of ANY decay on any of the teeth pictured. Dr. Neshat will take you for a ride, watch out!!!

I've been a patient of Reston Family & Cosmetic Dentistry for 6 years. As someone who has never liked going to the dentist, this group makes it SO much better. From the caring nature, personable approach of all the staff to the excellence in treatment from the hygienists (especially Shara!) and skills and leadership of Drs Neshat & Jang. I'm grateful to have found such competent and caring providers. I highly recommend this practice!!

Bri helped save the day after I was on hold for about 20 mins and felt forgotten. I called from a different line, Bri answered and was immediately empathetic and promptly assisted me. The team at Reston Family and Cosmetic Dentistry is truly a family like environment. From Aubrey and Bri checking you in to Katie, a top notch hygienist, to Dr Neshet & Dr Jang they make a trip to the dentist easy and comfortable. The level of professionalism is impeccable. The communication tools they use make scheduling a visit super easy. The office is very clean and they utilize the most modern dentistry equipment (including massaging dental chairs!!) to keep your teeth in tip top shape!! If you're looking for a new dentist or new to the area, definitely go with Reston Family and Cosmetic Dentistry.

I am typically nervous going to the Dentist, however I feel comfortable and cared for at Reston Family & Cosmetic Dentistry. The staff is friendly, the care is effective, and my visits are efficient. I get adequate time with both my hygienists and my dentist. Special shoutout to Katie, who is the best hygienist I've ever worked with! She's so professional, kind, thoughtful, and capable. Every visit is a delight, and I know she's looking out for the best interest of my health.

I have been going to Reston Family & Cosmetic Dentistry for the past 7 years and cannot say enough good things about them! The entire staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Service is always prompt and professional. Both Drs. Neshat and Jang are extremely knowledgeable and always explain the work that they are doing and any possible impact that I may experience. I recently decided to have veneers installed and from consult to completion, Dr. Neshat and her team did a fantastic job. She was very meticulous throughout the process and took great pride in the end result. I highly recommend this practice for all of your dental needs!

I have had such an amazing experience with this place. Their dentists and assistants are wonderful, sweet, funny, and just a pleasure to be around. I've had to get several things done on my teeth, and they have always made me feel very comfortable. Just a lovely group of people. I would strongly recommend this place.

I became a patient of Dr. Neshat about 7 months ago. She has installed two crowns. More importantly, she recently removed what I thought was a stain (actually was a cavity) in between two of my front teeth. It totally changed my appearance/smile. I could not believe how big a change it made. I had this for years and no one else ever said anything about it or suggested fixing it.

This was hands down the best experience EVER! Dr. Monica Neshat and her staff are very knowledgeable and my appointment was quick/easy. The office is clean and the environment is somehow relaxing (no joke). I HIGHLY recommend. I've had terrible experiences at other places and that is why I am not a big fan of these appointments lol. I was so happy to find Dr. Neshat. TRUST ME. You will not be disappointed!!!

I had a few extended wait periods during covid, a small billing issue and my temporary crown broke within the 1st week and they couldn't get me back to fix it, but I feel this was due to the pandemic and being a little short handed. Over all I have been to this clinic on three separate occasions for different services and though I had some problems, I am still going to rate them with 5 stars because I believe you would have these same service difficulties anywhere during the pandemic and they addressed all my concerns immediately and were sincere at correcting any problems. Other than that, the staff has all been very nice, they explain the procedure they are going to perform, and they are able to take most X-rays right from your chair. Speaking of chairs, the chairs have massage functions that are great if you are going to be in the chair for any length of time which is great for blood circulation, and there are TV's at each chair to keep you entertained as much as you can be while they work on your mouth. Lastly, I must say that the staff and owners take a real interest in your happiness with their services and how they can improve. The went above and beyond in compassion and even asked if I would like a different channel on the television. They provide the type of caring compassionate service you need from a family dental center.

Dr. Neshat and her team have been taking great care of our family since we moved to Reston 6 years ago. Everyone from the front desk to the hygienists to the two incredible doctors are professional and outstanding at their craft, and they are also welcoming, kind, and warm. The biggest compliment I can give is that even our young kids don't dread going to the dentist one bit!
