Dr. Pattee is originally from Perry, Iowa. He completed his Bachelor of Arts degree at St. John's University in Collegeville, Minnesota. He majored in biology with a minor in Spanish. Surprisingly, it was his Spanish minor and not the biology major that led him to dentistry. In 2009, Dr. Pattee spent a semester abroad in Quetzaltenango, Guatemala living with a local host family. Here, he volunteered with an organization called Salud y Paz (Health and Peace). This opportunity gave him his first real exposure to dentistry. By the end of the trip, he was actively working alongside a Guatemalan dentist, helping alleviate pain and educate the local Mayan population about oral hygiene. This experience spring boarded his passion for international travel, helping the less fortunate, learning other languages, and dentistry. He has since provided volunteer dental work in the Unites States, Cambodia, Jamaica, Guatemala (again) and hopes to be able to continue to use his skills to travel and help those in need throughout his career in dentistry.

Dr. Pattee is active in several dental groups including Spear Study Club, Academy of General Dentistry, American Dental Association, Never Stop Learning Study Club, Breathe Institute, and the Dawson Academy. He received the Concept of Complete Dentistry Award from the Dawson Academy in 2016.

I was referred to Respira from my dentist, and this referral literally changed my life. Dr. Ryan recommended I complete a sleep study. After completing a 2-night sleep study (in the comfort of my own home) I scored a 9/10. Dr. Ryan determined that I had sleep apnea - I was shocked, to say the least; however, it all made sense as I woke up daily extremely tired and my neck was always stiff, which was later determined that I also clenched my jaw and grinded. Dr. Ryan recommended the Vivos appliance. I was skeptical, but decided it was either that, or a CPAP machine. I wore the Vivos appliance for about a year, then after completing another sleep study, I went from a 9 to a 1 on the sleep apnea scale! I now wake up refreshed, with no neck pain. If you are on the fence about Vivos - do it! This appliance is worth every penny, and the staff at Respira are amazing and beyond accommodating. Elese was amazing to work with, and always worked around my schedule to set my appointments up. I am so grateful for Dr. Ryan, Melissa, Elese, and the rest of the team at Respira. THANK YOU!

Dr. Ryan and his team are fantastic. After 1 year of using the Panthera mandibular advancement device, I'm convinced that Respira has completely restored my quality of life. I have historically snored since early adolescence. Since working with Respira, I have not snored for a single night that I have used the device, and I wake up feeling the difference. On only a handful of nights, I have accidentally fallen asleep without the device--when this happens, every time, I have wake up in the middle of the night with serious headaches and stiffness. I've come to recognize that this is a testament to how well the device works and how much it has improved my sleep and my life. I recommend Respira to anyone who struggles with snoring

I have had trouble with my snoring getting worse over the last few year. I found out at Respira there is a laser snoring procedure that treats the soft pallet in your mouth. The procedure only takes about 10 minutes, is super easy and not painful at all! Actually I didn't really feel anything and had no after affects either.....Except! Starting that very same night my snoring was barely audible! My spouse said my snoring was cut in at least 1/2 as much and what snoring did happen was just a light airy sound! I love how easy this was and the immediate great effects ..

I have had some pretty severe side effects of TMJ and struggled for a long time trying to find someone that could help. Migraines, ear aches, and all over jaw and mouth pain that would wake me from my sleep or cut into my work day. I was recommended to go see Dr. Ryan at Respiria. My first visit he and his staff listened thoroughly to my symptoms and investigated prior possible causes. After explaining how it all works and what causes it, I was fitted with a small device to wear at night to help. Within 3 days I felt 10x better and have not had a headache since, along with a complete change in how my overall jaw, ear and face feel. I never thought I would find someone so willing to get to the bottom and help me to feel normal again. Definitely recommend a visit to Respiria if you are experiences TMJ pain. I am one happy camper!
