Dr. Sekijima has been practicing orthodontics in the Renton Highlands since 1988. He is a Bellevue native and a graduate of Sammamish High School. He earned his Bachelor of Arts and Dental degrees from the University of Washington and received his Orthodontic specialty training at the University of Missouri where he also earned a Masters in Oral Biology.
He has been consistently recognized as one of Washingtons top Orthodontists by Seattle Met Magazine. He and his wife, Donna have twin daughters, Sarah and Kim. They enjoy hiking, skiing, and all outdoor activities. Since 2005 they have had the privilege to take biannual mission trips to Central America and Southeast Asia.
Dr. Bill Wan (Dr. 'Bill') has lived in the greater Seattle area with his wife and two children for 15 years and enjoys everything our evergreen state offers. Before dentistry, he was a veteran software developer at Microsoft. Intrigued with his own dental and orthodontic experiences, Dr. Wan found his passion and changed his career. He graduated from the University of Washington, School of Dentistry (Go Dawgs!) and received his specialty training at the University of Colorado, Denver.
As an American Board of Orthodontics certified orthodontist, Dr. Bill is determined to providing high-quality care as a tradition of Dr. Sekijiima's orthodontics practice. We will also bring in digital scanning, treatment planning, and aligner therapy (Invisalign, etc.) with his help!
Dr. Bill likes to spend time with his family and loved ones. If time allowed, he enjoys hot yoga and has an addiction to binging Netflix and Disney+ shows. If you have a recent favorite show, please definitely share with him!
Briana is one of the front desk team members. She has been working in this office since 2018. She started out in the office as a patient of Dr. Bobs. Her 3 children are all patients here as well, 2 of which who are adults and out of braces. Briana is excited to expand her career opportunities within the office, and is looking forward to working with Dr. Bill.
Dawn has been a Dental Assistant with Dr. Bob for 24 years. Dawn will fill in and assist when needed otherwise she typically works in the lab. Dawn has known Dr. Bob for a very long time, he was her Orthodontist when she was in high school as well as other members of her family and now her own kids. Dawn feels lucky to be a part of such a great office including all the wonderful staff for such a long time and looks forward to the upcoming years with Dr. Bill.
Kelly has been in the dental field for 20 years, the last 8 years being an assistant to Dr. Bob. She enjoys her job and is looking forward to working with Dr. Bill. In her free time she loves spending time with her daughter. They enjoy biking, boating and hiking.
Tonia has been in the practice for 33 years. She started as a Chairside Dental Assistant. After the birth of her children she worked part time in the lab making our retainers and appliances. Tonia came back to cover for a long-time employee, Bonnie, our Financial Coordinator and Treatment Plan coordinator, that retired after 33 years in the practice. She definitely feels like we are family with all the time and events we have shared together through the years as a staff.

My kids have been going to this orthodontic office since they were young when Dr. Sekijima was the original dr. Now Dr. Bill Wan took over after Dr. Sekijima retired. Dr. Wan is very thorough with each patient. I also enjoy the friendly staff and they are very communicative with each appointment through text and calls. I do appreciate that. All of the staff from the assistant to the doctor to the front office gals, I appreciate all of their help in getting my children's teeth all straightened out and bringing back their smiles.

We start with Dr. Bob and now Dr. Bill has purchased the practice. Both have a conservative approach to orthodontics and don't rush your kid into two separate stages of braces that cost more and prolongs the length of time in braces. I choose Dr. Sekijima because his recommendations were practical--wait for his adult teeth to come in and work with his normal growth to shift his bite. Dr. Bills has the same philosophy. My youngest is next in line for braces and we'll be staying at Renton Smile.

Everyone in here is awsome, i have weared my brace for three years and i get rid off it today, all the process is perferct, it will be your best choice if you choose to wear a brace!!!

We have had a very positive experience with Dr. Bill and his staff! Dr. Bill is conscientious and takes time to carefully explain what is happening with treatment. The staff is professional and communicative about appointments. Whenever I've called the office and left a message, I know that I will hear from a staff person by the next day. The braces are off now and the teeth look great!
