Dental care is hard for kids. Not only do motor skills make oral care challenging at an early age, but the dentist can seem like a scary place. The new sounds, sensations, instruments in every room, and even the face masks our team wears can seem scary to kids. Not to mention that dentistry is often presented to children as frightening and painful in their favorite shows and movies (just look at the scenes that take place in a dental office in Finding Nemo, for example).

These negative opinions of going to the dentist often persist well into adulthood, and affect lifetime dental care habits, willingness to get regular cleanings, and overall comfort level with dental care.

FYSH School gives kids a positive start with dental care. Theyll learn about dental health and form a positive view of visiting the dentist. Theyll see how caring for their teeth is not only important, but fun!

Every parent wants their child to learn good oral hygiene habits and have a healthy smile for years to come. We can help! Join our FYSH School event. We provide educational, interactive, and fun activities for kids to become comfortable with the dentist and learn age-appropriate information about taking care of their teeth.

You can purchase preventative and cosmetic health products right in our dental practice. Every time you make a purchase, we donate a dollar to a local non-profit support program for at-risk members of our community.

This program at the Hope Institute provides oral health care and dental care to special needs patients. The proceeds of your purchase go towards a comprehensive dental clinic, full-time dentist, and care provider education.

So, we created a system for our team to use to support our patients most important goal of keeping their teeth. We call it Make Teeth Last. Heres how it works and what our team does to help you keep your teeth.

Sometimes, your oral health might not be the first thing on your mind. You might have other challenges you need to take care of first. We understand that, so the first thing we do is listen to you. How are you feeling? Whats important to you right now?

Dentistry can have a huge impact on protecting you from other diseases, especially when we care for your gums. The teeth tend to get all the headlines, but your gums are a very important part of your body. Your gum health doesnt just affect the health of your teeth but also the rest of your body. So we look at your gums and soft tissue next.

Good nutrition and the ability to chew go together. Your bite function is a critical part of your health, because we all need to eat to be healthy! So, during each exam, well check your bite and look for issues related to chewing.

Youd be surprised how often a minor adjustment to bite can completely change a patients ability to chew and be healthy. For example, because of discomfort caused by an improper bite, a patient might avoid certain foods. A small, painless adjustment can make a real difference.

Some people think dentists just want to get in there, look at the teeth, and do some drilling. But we know that a drill is the least powerful tool we have. Theres so much more we can do to help you keep your teeth without picking up a drill.

Thats why looking at your teeth comes last. Yes, we are a dental practice. It might seem odd that we look at your teeth last, but helping you keep your teeth requires that we consider a lot more than just the teeth alone. Your teeth stay healthy if the rest of you is healthy. So, to help make your teeth last, we look at your whole health, and then create a care plan for your mouth last, after we understand the big picture. Its the best way to keep those teeth healthy.

I was very impressed with Dr. Lira. She accomplished a very thorough examination and evaluation of my dental issues. She offered viable options for completion of two adjacent implants. She was pleasant and made one feel comfortable with her diagnosis. There was a minor miscommunication about who would review my dental plan by the staff. Overall, I was pleased with the whole process and look forward to working with them.

Staff was very friendly and professional. Semiannual checkup and cleaning was thorough. However, I was VERY disappointed to see that none of the other 4 patients waiting for their appointments were wearing masks. When I asked my technician why they didn't require masks, she said they follow state guidance, which doesn't allow them to require face masks for customers. I'm sure that's wrong, given that EVERY medical office I frequent requires masks to be worn. I mentioned the increasing prevalence of COVID, to which she replied, "I think COVID is here to stay, and we just have to live with it." Although I like Renken Dentistry, That cavalier attitude toward patient safety is causing me to seriously consider finding another practice.

Absolutely amazing experience here, the dentist and the assistants are just the most professional and caring people you could ask for. They made sure I was in no pain getting my crown and they were so attentive. I would give 6 stars if I could.

My first (cleaning and x-rays) visit was today and I was very pleased with the entire process. Everyone was absolutely the best. Second visit I have to get a small filling and it was as pleasant as it could be. Third visit cleaning and all was good. Quick smoothe process, hygienist is the best. Very happy I made the switch to Renken Georgetown.

Wonderful hygienist. She does a great job. Will continue to recommend One suggestion: perhaps the staff can have their break room -which they no doubt need- in the back of the offices rather than right off the check in desk.

I made an appointment for a cleaning and waited 2 weeks. Arrived early for my appointment. The entire staff was sitting infront of door outside eating lunch. My first impression was not very professional. Someone called me in morning and said hygienist could not come to work today and my appointment for 10:30 needed changed to 1pm. So 1pm as stated I arrived. Hygienist took x-rays and said you ever seen a periodontist? I said yes...here to establish and start cleanings every 4 months and not see periodontist. Hygienist said oh I don't have time to do your cleaning which was what I was there for. Asked about the insurance available. She then said she didn't have time to sign me up. At this point I'm pretty upset. Then she says here is your plan of treatment for 12k. What? I came for a cleaning and leave with their plan of treatment of 12k. I left and went to another office and 2 days not 2 weeks later I get my teeth cleaned and no plan for periodontist or 12k. This place is freezing cold and no offer of blanket for customers comfort and I had long pants and shirt and jacket on and still shivering! My boyfriend went there 2 weeks ago for a crown and they signed him up for insurance while there. He went back today to get his permanent crown and the original dentist used permanent glue on the temporary crown and they could not get it off and broke it off and they had to start again with another temporary crown and wait 2 more weeks for permanent crown. This is ridiculous! We paid for these services already! They got our money and that's all they seem concerned with and getting more. Customer service is terrible and services are not recommended to anyone! Worst dentist office ever!! Very dissatisfied! The location of services was off 29 close to Ronald Regan in Georgetown Tx.
