Professionally, Dr. Michele has had a long journey. She began by attending Temple University in Philadelphia on an academic scholarship as a chemistry major with the goal to enter dental school. She had originally worked as an orthodontic assistant which led to her desire to pursue becoming an orthodontist. She changed her focus to a more applied chemistry, geochemistry, and graduated summa cum laude with honors and a B.S. in Geology in 1990.
Knowing she loved her time as an orthodontic assistant, she made her decision to attend the Temple University School of Dentistry on scholarship. During her time at Temple she graduated with numerous honors, including the Wade Award for the highest scores on both National boards parts I and II. Graduating summa cum laude in 1996, she accepted a three year residency position at the Ohio State University to specialize in the study of orthodontics. After 11 years of schooling, she achieved her dream of becoming an orthodontist!
Personally, she was raised by two wonderful parents who taught her to strive to be the best person she can be. Nobody could ask for two more generous, caring parents as role models than Linda and Norman Renick. Her early years were spent growing up in a very small town called Hatfield, PA. At age 12, her family moved to a more suburban area of Philadelphia called Warminster where her grandparents joined the household. She has a great older brother, Phillip, who resides in Harrisonburg, VA, where he practices as a pediatrician. He is a true baby whisperer! After living for nine years in Philadelphia, she moved to Columbus for her residency and has remained ever since. While still a Philly phanatic at heart, her friends have trained her well as a Buckeye fan. She lives with her two cats, Precious the silver streak and Shiloh the golden terror.
Dr. Michele has had the opportunity to follow her second passion, volleyball. She not only still plays, but also has had the chance to coach at the Delaware YMCA, St. Pauls in Westerville, and the New Wave Volleyball Club in Newark, Ohio. She has a truly amazing volleyball family here in Ohio.
We are proud to welcome patients from Sunbury as well as the surrounding areas of Galena, Johnstown, Marengo, Centerburg, Highland, Westerville and Delaware, Ohio. We are committed to providing the highest quality of orthodontic care possible for each patient we meet.
