Dr. Lester recommended a needless SRP. The hygienist and office manager, Suzanne, took only 15 minutes to perform a full mouth (4-quadrant) SRP. At the time, I thought I was being fleeced and demanded more time be spent (to which she agreed, and during which time unfortunately caused some nerve damage to my lower teeth) , but later realized she was able to effectively clean my teeth during my previous periodontal maintenance visit 6 weeks prior. So I was effectively back-charged $800+ for a periodontal maintenance visit which was performed on the same day of my initial office consultation. Dr. Lester claims to be one of the more affordable periodontists in the area, but I'm not sure about that. I've seen a few periodontists, and he was the most expensive one I've been to. Anecdotally, I was chatting with a retired dentist in Illinois, who was amazed at how expensive periodontal services were in Mississippi. I encourage others to shop around and do their due-diligence before committing to any costly procedures. There are more affordable options in town with more experienced practitioners.

Dr. Lester barely looked at my gums & jumped to scheduling surgery. He didn't look at the problem tooth I went in for until I asked twice. He didn't do a full exam of my teeth. I felt like I was at a used car dealer. He printed up a price for surgery & said if I booked it that day I could lock in that price.

I have had a history of very painful periodontal treatment but not here. It was virtually pain free. I will never use another practice.

Dr Lester and his staff are always courteous and professional. I definitely recommend this office.
