Dr. Kenworthy is a dentist with a mission. Her passion stems from her intrinsic goal to help people, alleviate any pain and give them a beautiful healthy smile. She also isn't afraid to hear that her patients dislike dentists. She says that it is one of the most common things that she hears from people when they initially enter in the office. Dr. Kenworthy sees this as a fun challenge and loves turning her patients opinions around until they find that the dentist is not something to fear.
Dr. Kenworthy attended dental school at Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Her son, Justin, was born while finishing her senior year! Before relocating back to Northern California, her additional certifications and specialties include Invisalign, one day in-office crowns for cosmetic dentistry and extensive experience with dental implants.
When Dr. Kenworthy isn 't at the office, she, her husband Ron, their son and friends, enjoy spending time relaxing at home in Grass Valley. She loves the serenity and beauty that living near the mountains offer as well as the ability to have fun riding her quads, off-roading, water-skiing and snow-skiing. An enthusiastic animal lover, she absolutely adores her dogs and tried cleaning their teeth once! A procedure that she now says she 'll 'leave to the experts.' Dr. Kenworthy 's fun-loving, humorous personality is sure to leave you feeling comfortable and welcome.

The calming inhalant known as laughing gas is for patients who are mildly or moderately anxious or nervous. It eases their anxieties so that they can relax and undergo treatment comfortably and safely. The gas is administered by placing a small hood over the patient's nose. As the gas takes effect, the patient becomes relaxed, but is still awake and can communicate. When the gas is turned off, the effects of sedation wear off almost immediately.
Reflections Family Dentistry treats pediatric patients in Granite Bay. Our office often treats patients who present special challenges related to their age, behavior, medical conditions, or any other special needs. To address these challenges effectively in order to provide 'predictable' treatment, your pediatric dentist may recommend treating your child under General Anesthesia.
Reflections Family Dentistry, by virtue of training and experience, is qualified to recognize the indications for such an approach and to render such care. Our team will discuss all the necessary steps that must be taken in order to promptly and safely complete your child's dental treatment after this treatment option has been chosen.
Reflections Family Dentistry offers a full range of cosmetic dentistry including professional teeth whitening. Teeth whitening is the #1 requested and performed cosmetic dental procedure. Teeth whitening (sometimes called teeth bleaching) is a procedure that brightens teeth and helps to remove stains and discoloration.
Teeth whitening by a dental professional is key as cavities need to be treated before teeth are whitened. Cavities are problematic because whitening solution can penetrate the cavity allowing decay to reach inner areas of a tooth. People with good dental health may also use a kit to whiten teeth at home. However, in a single office visit, teeth whitening performed by a dental professional will produce brighter results that are more consistent in color across all teeth.
The outer-most layer of your tooth, the enamel, is what becomes stained or discolored and adversely, whitened during teeth whitening treatment. The tooth's enamel is actually quite porous when looked at up close and thinking about it this way makes it easier to understand how teeth can become stained.
Coffee, tea, colas, wine, certain fruits and vegetables, smoking or chewing tobacco and inadequate brushing and flossing can all cause the tooth's enamel to stain. Tiny microscopic particles lodge themselves into the porous enamel layer of your teeth which causes the overall appearance of the tooth to become discolored. Reflections Family Dentistry offers professional-grade whitening solutions that eliminate stains and discoloration by blasting out the particles within the porous enamel layer and effectively bleaching the enamel. What is left behind is a beautiful whiter enamel layer.
There is a difference between the teeth whitening kits you can get from the supermarket and the high-strength home whitening kits our office is able to provide. Store-bought do-it-yourself whitening kits feature a 'boil-and-fit' mouthpiece that can be uncomfortable and generally requires more whitening gel per tooth to achieve whiter teeth. The gels in the store-bought whitening kits are also are not as concentrated as what we can offer which means it takes longer to achieve desired results. Reflections Family Dentistry uses kits that are able to create an exact-fit whitening tray that is custom built for your teeth. This maximizes the displacement and effectiveness of the whitening gel ensuring that it surrounds the teeth evenly and entirely. Additionally, our home-whitening kits use a high-strength proprietary whitening gel that you can 't get over-the-counter from a supermarket which means your teeth get a deeper and longer lasting result in less time.
The most common type of home teeth whitening involves placing a gel-like whitening solution, which usually contains hydrogen peroxide, in a tray that resembles a Nightguard or mouth guard. Over-the-counter mouthpieces are unlikely to fit correctly and can cause gum irritation if the whitening agent seeps out. The tray is then placed over the teeth for a certain period of time, anywhere from an hour or two to overnight.
Are you a heavy coffee drinker? Do you smoke? Do you drink soda? Are your teeth naturally discolored? If so, chances are your teeth have seen whiter days. Reflections Family Dentistry makes whitening your teeth extremely fast and affordable with our powerful whitening system. With this whitening system that only a dentist can provide (not to be mistaken for those mall-style teeth whitening stations we've all seen), we are able to whiten stained and discolored teeth up to 9 shades whiter in less than an hour!
Reflections Family Dentistry can send you home with home teeth whitening kits that contain an extra-strength concentrated whitening solutions that you can't get from a supermarket or over the counter. We use home whitening kits that are able to attack even the deepest tooth stains and eliminate tooth discoloration.
A laser teeth whitening is the best way to dramatically whiten your teeth in under an hour. Laser teeth whitening is a professional teeth whitening treatment where hydrogen peroxide bleaching gel is applied to your teeth. Once the bleaching gel is plied then a laser light is directed at the teeth to help achieve maximum whitening results in under an hour.
Laser teeth whitening procedures are safe and comfortable. They can safely bring your teeth up to 12 shades lighter in under an hour! You only require one visit, and the result of visibly lighter teeth can last anywhere from 6 to 24 months depending on diet, lifestyle, and oral hygiene.
