It is a privilege to be part of this profession, and that comes with great responsibility to treat my patients with kindness and respect to the best of my abilities. Our practice has worked hard to make visits fun, convenient, and affordable.
I have learned so much from my patients, and take great satisfaction in seeing so many of our smiles in the community. It is a blessing to be able to be such a positive part of our patients lives, and it is very enjoyable to follow where their lives lead them.
As an orthodontist, my dedication to better the lives of young people goes well beyond the day-to-day duties of our orthodontic practice. My commitment to my patients includes continual post-doctoral training to add to my expertise. Much of my current continuing education has focused on technology and how we can make orthodontics easier, more efficient, and cost-effective for our patients.
I currently reside in Bedford County, where I was born and raised. My wife Cindy and I have two daughters, Sydney and Lexie. I am actively involved in coaching girls youth basketball and softball, and can usually be found on the court or field with my kids. I am also active with Crossroads Bible Church in Bedford, PA.
I was born and raised in central Pennsylvania. After earning my degree in pharmacy, I decided to pursue a degree in dentistry. Once I earned my dental degree, I was blessed to be accepted into the orthodontic program at the University of Pittsburgh.
We recognize that all our patients are unique and deserve to receive orthodontic care that reflects their individual needs. Our experienced and talented team is committed to working with you and your family to create a comfortable, stress-free, and rewarding orthodontic experience every time you visit our practice.
Reed & Sahlaney Orthodontics, we are committed to providing the highest quality clinical care and personalized service in a warm and compassionate atmosphere. Dr. Reed, Dr. Sahlaney, and our staff enjoy getting to know each patient and their families, and love creating relationships that last multiple generations.

They have always been fabulous with my daughter. The staff is polite and knowledgeable. I never have trouble getting her an appointment. Also their price is more reasonable than others in the area

I've been waiting almost 4 months to get braces from here. when I called they asked for my insurance to see if it would cover and I told them they said my insurance was able to cover it I go in for my apt to get the x rays done 3 months later my mom gets a call and they say I can't get them because my insurance doesn't cover it and that they put the wrong insurance. this isn't the first time they messed up with us either first time we went the front desk told me I could get them that day I walked in because I had insurance. I don't recommend

Horrible and traumatic. I got my braces off a couple years ago (a few months earlier than I was supposed to). I had to have them off at this point, and this was discussed beforehand, but the orthodontist on that day was extremely rude and tried to tell me he wouldn't take them off and treated me like a child despite the fact that I was almost an adult. I began responding to him in a similar way to how he was treating me, and his response was to call my mother and tell her I was being disrespectful. Up to this point, he had not kept any of us informed on what the treatment plan was, and without asking or telling me or my parents, a few months before I got my braces removed, had made the decision that he was going to create a space that had not previously existed for a tooth that I was born without. Again, there had never been a gap there until he created it without permission. His idea had apparently been that I should get an implant, which is a significant expense to force upon someone without discussion. The problem now is that because of the horrible and hasty way this was done, there is not even space in my mouth for a micro implant, so I will require significant work in the future to correct it. This place has ruined my self confidence and caused me to have many nightmares about losing my teeth, and they have caused an ongoing orthodontic issue purely because the orthodontists here think they know better than you and don't think you deserve a say in your care or even information. It makes me so mad just thinking about it. They're terrible orthodontists and terrible people on top of it.
