Our clinic was originally founded by Dr. Dave Atherton in 1988. Dr. Dave grew up in the Seattle area and earned a degree in zoophysiology at WSU. After his graduate studies in respiratory physiology, he attended Dental School at the University of Washington winning a U.S. Public Health Service scholarship, culminating in 4 years of service at the Menominee Tribal Clinic in Wisconsin. His focus at the tribal clinic was on the dental care and education for the children in the Tribes Head Start Program. It was a fantastic experience which launched his decision to specialize in pediatric dentistry. He was selected for and completed a 2-year advanced post-doctoral course, accredited by the American Dental Association, at Childrens Hospital of Wisconsin in association with Marquette University Dental School. The program provided hospital-based training in the dental care of infants, children, adolescents including special needs patients that are behaviorally or, medically challenged. This is where Dr. Dave developed his philosophy and skills to treat the whole child and not just the teeth!
After a full career of private practice, teaching and research at the UW and serving as an attending dentist for Childrens Hospital Residency Program, he has retired to spend more time with his family. Dr. Dave has passed the baton to his trusted colleagues, Dr. Steve Sadler, and associate, Dr. Kozue Kawakubo, to continue the legacy of serving the community.
Dr. Atherton is a lifetime Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. He has been recognized as a top dentist in several publications but, tributes his clinics success to his caring and talented staff and a community of wonderful families! He has traded in his dental handpiece for woodworking tools, a bike, a camera and a world map!

I took my 5 year old to Everyone by one in Bellevue and they said my son needed like 6 crowns!! I was shocked and went for a 2nd opinion. Dr Saddler office is actually where I went as a child (Dentist Dave). Dr Saddler was absolutely incredible with my son and recommended fillings instead! Hallelujah! He did incredible with my 5 year old through filling going fast but gentle and kind at same time! I will never go anywhere else! We drive from Edmonds so it's a far drive but 100% worth it! Lastly: my son had pain late at night and Dr Saddler took my phone call at home while on vacation!! He treats us like his family! And he is a Disney fan like us! Thank you Dr Saddler for your care of my 5 year old son and 2 year old daughter!!

Dr.Sadler and Dr.Kawakubo are the best pediatric dentists I know. They are always so accommodating and understanding. Everything is is always explained so throughly. Best staff ever!

My kids and I enjoy the dentist visits every time. Everyone was so warm and welcoming from the moment you walked in. From the front desk to the dental assistant to the dentist you will not be disappointed. They talk to kids and make sure the kids always have positive experiences while taking good care of their dental needs. Dr. Stephen Sadler was very professional. He answered all my questions. The end of visits prizes the kids got are super nice too! I only wish they could take parents as their patients! I highly recommend this practice.

Dr. Stephen Sadler is absolutely fantastic. He really cares about the patient and preserving the teeth as much as possible. He is very honest, caring, and all around good person. The whole staff is very friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a pediatric dentist.

Dr Sadler has always been very responsive and is great with my 5 year old and now 2 year old. We spent a lot of time worrying about their teeth and he calmly let me know that everything is okay. Great Experience.

I highly recommend Dr Sadler. He is the ultimate professional, has great bedside etiquette and my children are very happy and comfortable under his care. Dr Sadler has gone out of his way to answer any questions I have. He took my phone call immediately when I was worried about one of my children.
