Dr. Tung is an accomplished Dentist with over 10 years of experience and Dr. Mus eldest daughter.Shegraduated from Caltech undergrad with honors and the University of Washington School of Dentistry in 2006 also with Honors, ranked in the top of her class.Having excelled in school, she won numerous top awards for both clinical and diagnostic excellence, including the Academy of General Dentistry Award (for excellence in general dentistry), the American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology Award (for excellence in oral cancer screening), the American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology Award (for excellence in x-ray diagnosis), the John C. Kois Prize in Restorative Clinical Excellence, and membership in Omicron Kappa Upsilon, the national dental honor society.
After graduation,Dr. Tungstarted practicing in California where she worked as a dentist in Silicon Valley, first at a busy general dentistry practice, then joining one of the areas top cosmetic practices. She was also an integral member of the Santa Clara County Dental Societys Community Relations Committee where she helped organize and participated in the annual Give Kids A Smile event where thousands of underprivileged children received much needed free dental screenings and treatment. She also lectured for this event, giving a continuing education course to the participating Dentists and local School Nurses.
In 2009, Dr. Tung returned to the Seattle Area to join our practice. She participates in many local study clubs and continuing education courses and is a member of the ADA, WSDA and SKCDS. She was an Affiliate Faculty Member of the University of Washington School of Dentistry, where she wasan instructor in the Restorative Dental Patient Clinics.
Dr. Tung prides herself on providing high quality care with a gentle touch. She enjoys all aspects of dentistry, but her favorite part is interacting with her patients. She understands that many patients may have fears, and works hard to make patients feel comfortable and well cared for. Patients appreciate her light touch, attention to details and passion for dental restorations.
Dr. Tung has a beautiful daughter, Kate, that keeps her busy! When Kate's dance, swim, and school activities aren't in motion, Dr. Tung enjoys traveling. Ask her about one of her many adventures to South Africa, Peru, or Cambodia! Trying new restaurants are right up her alley as well. She's all ears to your personal recommendations. Dr. Yanka Chalakova knew she wanted to become a dentist while still in high school, but she never imagined she would go to Dental school twice, on two different continents. First, she graduated from the Faculty of Dental Medicine Sofia, Bulgaria, Class of 1997. Once she moved to the US, her love and passion for Dentistry made her return to school. She proudly graduated from the University of Washington School of Dentistry, Class of 2014.
Dr. Yanka has extensive experience practicing as a dentist for several years back in Bulgaria. Right after her graduation from the University of Washington, she joined a private dental practice in the Seattle area, where she enjoyed working with adults and children. Redmond was always a special place for her, so she happily joined Redmond Dental in April of 2021.
Dr. Yanka values every patient and their unique and individual needs. She takes her time listening to her patients concerns, answering their questions, and customizing the best treatment plan to meet their goal. She loves educating her patients on the importance of oral health and preventive care. She understands many people postpone going to the dentist due to various levels of anxiety. Therefore, she strives putting everyone at ease and helping them relax.
Dr. Yanka continues staying up to date with the newest technologies and materials in Dentistry through continuing education courses. She also participates in study groups where she learns new procedures her patients could benefit from.
Dr. Yanka is married and has two almost grown-up kids. She loves traveling with her family and trying new coffee everywhere she goes. She recently discovered the joy of hiking and always welcomes new recommendations for trails to try.

Dr. Mu has three grown children who all followed her passion for dentistry. The whole family practices in Washington! When Dr. Mu is not in the office she puts on her grandma hat watching her three grandchildren and practicing Tai Chi on the weekends! Dr. Mu is a world traveler on her free time. Ask her about her trips to China, Barcelona, or Morocco. She has some great stories!
Dr. Sengupta graduated from the University of Washington, School of Dentistry with Specialization in Periodontics and received a Master of Science Degree in Dentistry. She has extensive training in the field of Periodontics including Dental Implant surgery, Bone grafting, Periodontal esthetic surgery, and treatment of Advanced periodontal disease. Her professional training spans over 15 years of clinical and educational experience in various fields of Dentistry.
She is currently an Affiliate Associate Professor in the Department of Periodontics at the University of Washington, School of Dentistry. She is a member of the American Dental Association, Washington State Society of Periodontists, Washington State Dental Association and Seattle King County Dental Society. She is an active member of many study clubs and frequently presents lectures on clinical cases, techniques and innovations in Periodontics.
Dr. Senguptas experience and expertise empowers her to drive a practice philosophy grounded in knowledge, skill and personal relationships with her patients. She treats her patients as family members with empathy and compassion and ensures a high level of ongoing periodontal health for them. She is friendly, cheerful, gentle, and compassionate with a pleasing chair-side manner.
Dr. Sengupta has been happily married for 10 years. She and her husband Tirthankar, have two children, Rohan and Riana. They live in Sammamish, Washington. In her free time, Dr. Sengupta enjoys baking, painting, traveling and spending time with her family.
