Dr. Puckett was born and raised in Marksville and graduated from St. Joseph High School in Plaucheville. He received his Bachelors degree in biology and graduated with honors from Louisiana College in Pineville.
Dr. Puckett is a 2009 graduate of the LSU School of Dentistry in New Orleans. He graduated in the top 5% of his dental school class and was a member of both Omicron Kappa Upsilon and Kells Dental Honor Societies. Dr. Puckett has been practicing family dentistry in this area since 2009 and opened Red River Dental in 2013. He is a member of the American Dental Association, the Louisiana Dental Association, and the Central Louisiana Dental Association.
Dr. Puckett is dedicated to bringing the most current, innovative, and compassionate care to his patients. He is committed to continuing his education and sharing his knowledge with his staff and his patients. Dr. Puckett and the entire Red River Dental team would enjoy the opportunity to get to know you and your family and to care for your dental needs.
Shauntel was born and raisedin Baton Rouge and attended St. Joseph's Academy High School. She has a Bachelor's Degree in biology and a Master's Degree in microbiology. Shauntel taught high school in Avoyelles and Rapides parishes before becoming Red River Dental's full time office manager in 2016.
Dr. Puckett enjoys fishing as well as outdoor cooking. Shauntel enjoys cooking and reading. They both, along with their two sons, are avid LSU football fans and loveto spendtime with friends and family.

New patient because my dentist retired. The staff was very professional and friendly. I was very nervous about the change but there is no reason. If you are looking for a dentist this is the place to go!

You would be hard pressed to find better care from any other dentist in our area. Dr. Puckett and his staff always go above and beyond to ensure I am comfortable and understand any procedure or billing question. 100/10 would recommend to anyone!

I had a wisdom tooth extracted on 6-23, Dr. Puckett and Adriana did an awesome job taking care of me. It was the first time that I have had a tooth pulled and they did an outstanding job keeping me informed and at ease during the entire process. After the initial numbing wore off I never took any pain meds or had any pain or issues. I HIGHLY recommend Red River Dental.

Such positive feedback! Unlike most dentist's offices, one come out of Red River Dental knowing that one's efforts to maintain dental health are noticed and appreciated by this dentist. The feedback on how I had been doing was really welcome news. I have made it a matter of personal pride that I maintain my oral hygiene, but I have to admit, this is the first dentist I've been to in my 73 years to give me specific and useful feedback on how I had been doing. Not only that, but the prompt and happy service, the expert cleaning and modern X-ray on computer giving vivid and useful visual information immediately. Just a great all around experience of concentrated positive professional help. I was in and out quickly and Dr. Puckett's reassuring and warm manner tops off a great visit!

Our encounters with Dr. Puckett started with my children being seen by him. My husband spoke very highly of him, and my daughter who is terrified of any type of Dr. visits LOVES going to see him for check ups and cleanings. She literally cried when they rescheduled her appt one time. So I had an incident on vacation and broke a back molar. I had to have a crown to repair and Dr. Puckett got me in quickly and took amazing care of me. He is so kind and very friendly. I had some pain after my crown prep and he got me back in immediately to double check everything and did several follow up calls to make sure I was okay. He has done other dental work for me and has done a beautiful job! He will always have our business. I have anxiety about dental visits but he makes you feel very comfortable. I love him & his staff and I recommend Red River Dental to everyone!

Very rude staff, unprofessional, I don't suggest bringing kids here, the secretary told me one thing, while the dentist told me another. Wanted to do unnecessary dental work just for some Medicaid money. VERY rude staff. Will not be back.
