Dr. Steven Frost, an Arizona native comes from a family of dentists. His father was a general dentist for 36 years in Mesa and his twin brother is an orthodontist in Mesa, as well. He is the founder of Red Mountain Endodontics, which was established 26 years ago in 1994. He attended Brigham Young University and dental school at University of the Pacific, School of Dentistry in San Francisco where he received his DDS degree. He received his endodontic specialty training certificate at Tufts School of Dental Medicine in Boston, MA.
Dr. Frost is a member of the American Dental Association, American Association of Endodontists, and the Arizona State Dental Association. Dr. Frost loves and values time with his wifeRhondaand their family. With five boys, one daughter, four daughters-in-law, and seven grandchildren; life is crazy fun!
Dr. Hamberlin is also a native Arizonan. After attending college in Arizona, he went on to San Francisco, University of the Pacific where he graduated valedictorian of his 1997 class. After dental school, Dr. Hamberlin specialized in endodontics at the University of Washington where he graduated in 1999.
Dr. Hamberlin is a member of the American Dental Association, American Association of Endodontists, and the Arizona State Dental Association. Dr. Hamberlin has too many hobbies to keep up with; basically if it is outdoors, hes there. Quad riding, hunting, fishing and anything with his family are his favorites.
Steven Richardson graduated from the Arizona School of Dentistry & Oral Health and worked as a general dentist in Phoenix and Chandler for two years before completing his endodontic specialty training and Masters of Science in Endodontics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He joined Red Mountain Endodontics in 2012. Dr. Richardson is a member of the American Dental Association, the Arizona Dental Association, and the American Association of Endodontists. Dr Richardson served as President of the Arizona Endodontic Association in 2019.
Dr. Woods is a second-generation dentist following in his fathers footsteps. Dr. Woods grew up in Mesa, AZ, where he went to Mountain View High school. He did his undergraduate studies at Arizona State and then attended Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry on an Army Scholarship. He practiced four years of general dentistry in the Army before specializing in endodontics.
During his time as a general dentist, he deployed to Iraq for a year. While serving in Iraq, Dr. Woods decided he wanted to specialize in endodontics, and after returning he completed his endodontic training at the University of Iowa. Dr. Woods became a Diplomate in the American Board of Endodontics in 2015. After 10 years of active duty service, he returned to Mesa to be closer to family and practice in the community he grew up in. Dr. Woods joined Red Mountain Endodontics in 2019. Dr. Woods loves to put patients at ease and strives to provide the best experience possible.

I went last month to do root canal number 14. The doctor ( Dr.Hemberlin) was great and the front desk people were very nice. Thank you so very much and i am very happy with the result.

If you have to get a root canal, this IS the place to go!!!! Dr. Hamberlin is amazing and makes the process quite easy and quick. Do yourself a favor and get the job done correctly the first time, book with Dr. Hamberlin!!!

So I guess with age I'll start reviewing doctors rather than night clubs. That aside, I had the unfortunate experience of going through a dying tooth that needed immediate attention. Luckily, I was referred to Red Mountain Endodontics and Dr. Richardson. Wow, it was one of the worst pains of my life and I couldn't have been happier with how it ended up. My dentist was horrible, more on that in another review perhaps, but my tooth had been bothering me for months and it finally got to the point where I needed to bypass my dentist who kept trying to adjust a nightguard mouthpiece and made my way to Dr. Richardson. He immediately recognized the dead, abscessed tooth and gave me options that ultimately lead to my root canal and final release of pain. Long story long now, they are great. I was in the worst way and the staff and doctor could not have been better. The staff got me in, was super empathetic and made a horribly painful experience as good as possible. They quickly made an appointment, were super comforting and very gentle. I saw Dr. Richardson and he was the same. He relieved my pain, gave me options on treatment; I was the patient, but he had patience and explained everything. The procedure was quick and as pleasant as a root canal can be. While it's hard to say I want to go back, I will say that if I ever have a tooth die on me, I will not hesitate to go back to Red Mountain Endodontics. It was truly one of the worst experiences I've had so far in my life from a physical pain perspective and I couldn't have been luckier to find such a kind hearted, gentle and trustworthy group of people to remedy the ailment. They are the epidemy of what I would expect from medical professionals; people who truly care about people.

Hands down the best experience I've had getting a Root Canal! Unfortunately, I have a long history of bad dental work and experiences. So I always have so much anxiety any time I'm getting work done. Not here! The staff was super friendly and the place is so welcoming and super cute decor. Dr. Johnson was so gentle and patient with me. He knew I was nervous so he talked me through it all. During the procedure I didn't feel any pain at all! By the end of my procedure I honestly was so relaxed. Don't bother going anywhere else for your Endo needs. Red Mountain Endodontics is the place to go. I'll be referring everyone I know. Thank you Red Mountain Endodontics!

They are the absolute best! The office is calming and inviting. The staff are friendly and the Doctors are second to none. I have had root canals at other places and I have had them here. There is no comparison. Red Mountain is by far the best. The equipment is cutting edge. The Doctors are personable and friendly. They show you and explain exactly what they are going to do and talk you through the procedure. With my appointments there has been ZERO pain! I would rather get a root canal here then a regular filling at a dentist. Long story short, if you need a root canal do yourself a huge favor and come see Dr. Hamberlin at Red Mountain Endodontics.

Highly recommend! My prior endodontist couldn't fit me in for two weeks and I needed a root canal ASAP! I am glad my dentist referred me to Red Mountain Endodontics. They were able to fit me in same day. The office was beautiful and very clean. The staff was very friendly and Dr Johnson was amazing! I felt confident and comfortable as he walked me through and performed my root canal. He also told me to reach out should I have any issues or concerns and they would get me in right away if needed. I will definitely be coming back for any future Endodontic treatment needed!

I came in last week for a root canal and had the best experience. Dr. Johnson and his dental assistant Noeli were awesome. I felt incredibly well taken care of. Such attentive, excellent care. The service was good and the root canal was fine with no complications. They did initially tell me what my responsibility would be but then came back and requested quite a bit more money. I know the estimations can be off but this was excessive. I would not trust their billing estimations. I feel that I paid an excessive amount, I wish I had gone elsewhere.

If I could give 10 stars, I would! I met Dr. Scott Johnson at the referral of an exceptional dentist in town. The office offered to see me the same day! Unfortunately, because of time required to download some CAT scans onto a CD, I arrived after closure. Nonetheless, Dr. Johnson met me on the sidewalk and spoke to me on his way home about my condition. He offered to call his team back in to help me out- which was not necessary at that time. I visited with him and his truly professional team the next afternoon. The front desk staff is incredibly helpful. They worked with me to determine the most financially efficient means to proceed. They worked with my assistant to find time that I could come to the office for care. These folks were willing to work out of their normal schedule to really help me during a time that was pretty difficult for me because of pain. His assistant Nohely is nothing less than a gem. Friendly, understanding, informative, professional, and just a great gal. Dr. Johnson worked with ease through my root canal- normally a stressful situation but 100% pain free during the procedure. He is a kind and very skilled doctor and explained all of my options. I have to say I caused the entire office to be a bit inconvenienced and they really accommodated my schedule to be sure that we were attending to the right tooth for the root canal. As it is sometimes, it took a day or so to really determine which tooth was causing the issues. I will be referring my family, best friends, and my own patients to this team and Dr. Johnson! I am a surgeon and know what to look for in your surgical team. You found your home here for your endodontics!!!!

Unfortunately this office made a decision to violate my trust and my privacy by engaging in an inappropriate discussion about me, claiming they are allowed to through a loop hole. Just because you can do something doesn't mean you should, and it certainly doesn't make it ethical. When considering a medical/dental provider trust is #1. Unfortunately I had to learn this the hard way. It doesn't feel good to leave a negative review; however, I don't think my feelings or experiences as a patient were being considered at all when this decision was made.

Highly recommend these folks for complex dental work. Dr. Frost, Cathie and Stacy were the best!! They really did a good job making me comfortable, which is of the utmost importance when getting a procedure like an apicoectomy. Dr. Frost also wrote me a script to keep me comfortable for the recovery days which I really appreciate. So glad my dentist referred me here!! Special thanks to Cathie, you rock. But believe me, the whole team is great!!

While I cannot say I prefer to spend my afternoons in a dental office, I can say I do prefer this office. The office is brand new, with warm welcoming staff. Ipads for registration, most up to date equipment, and clean atmosphere. Assistance Kayla and Dr. Frost are an exceptional team with a strong working dynamic; this is to me an index of overall climate. I was seen for an urgent root canal, the same day as my referral. The staff and endodontist accommodated my schedule to fit me in. Dr. Frost was sure to explain the details of my procedure and explained the risks and benefits of this intervention. Kayla is by far one of the best persons to have at your side during a root canal. She afforded an appropriately calm and relaxed atmosphere. They were both fast and effecient but did not spare on building a patient-doctor relationship. Without reserve or exception I highly endorse Kayla, Dr. Frost, and Red Mountain Endodontics. It was worth my 35 minute drive. This is not my first root canal and I can speak to the lower cost-- it was cheaper than my first, considerably so.

I was having pretty bad pain on my tooth and I called and Dr. Johnson took care of me from start to finish! He was kind, helpful and understanding of my circumstance. He made sure that I was comfortable and was quick and precise with his work. He was incredible. Along with his assistants and the rest of the office staff, I would trust these doctors to take care of anyone I knew. THANK YOU RED MOUNTAIN ENDO!
