I have been a member of our team since 1997. I will most likely be the first person you speak with and see at Red Maple Dental. I enjoy helping our patients with scheduling, reviewing financial options, and taking care of insurance matters for their dental needs. I am married to Terry and have a son Aaron, a daughter Kristin, and two Jack Russell Terriers, Shelby and Bear. I enjoy snow skiing, water skiing, traveling, riding my Harley, and spending time with my family.
I joined the Red Maple family in May of 2017. I am a Asheville native but have roots in Georgia as well. Dentistry has been in my blood since a very small child due to the fact my mother was a Dental Assistant for many years. I love everything about dentistry, even the sounds. I have enjoyed meeting all the patients and helping them with their dental needs. My husband Bronson is a Elementary School PE teacher and we are expecting our first child April of 2018. Our current fur baby is a Golden Retriever named Waylon. In my spare time I love to play softball and most importantly cheer on my SEC CHAMPS the Georgia Bulldogs during football season . GO DAWGS!
I have been with the practice since 1999 after graduating from AB Tech in 1992. I enjoy all aspects of dental assisting, from making pretty temporary crowns to seeing a patients smile changed with cosmetic dentistry. I am married to a wonderful husband, Michael, and have a son, Austin, who is a talented motocross racer. Our weekends stay busy cheering him on and working as his pit crew. We enjoy every minute!
I joined the team right after graduation from AB Tech Community College in 1992. I feel my job is vital to helping our patients maintain their exceptional dental work, and I enjoy my relationships with them. My husband, Johnny, is a firefighter for the City of Asheville. I have a son, Seth, and four dogs, a miniature Schnauzer named Jacks, English Bulldogs, Harley and Dozer, and a Rottweiler named Bo. I enjoy singing, shopping, and, most of all, spending time with my family. Im an active member of Riverside Baptist Church and am privileged to volunteer my time working with the youth.
I graduated from AB Tech Dental Hygiene school in 2000 and have been practicing in North and South Carolina ever since. I enjoy being a part of the Red Maple Dental team, getting to know patients and educating them about their dental health. My husband Jeremy and I have two children, Kamryn and Seth. In our spare time, we enjoy visiting family and friends, hiking and snow skiing.
Im happy to work behind the scenes taking care of all the small details that make your visit ideal and keep our family business running smoothly. I allow Dr. Hoffert to give her full attention to your care, which makes Red Maple Dental unique. I grew up in North Carolina, graduated with honors from the US Air Force Academy in 2001 and have a masters degree in Business. After a 14-year active duty career flying the T-37, T-38A, B-52H, T-6A, AT-38C and F-15C in both the USAF and Louisiana Air National Guard Ive decided, with my wife, to settle in Asheville and give lifes priority to our three children. I enjoy coaching T-ball in the North Asheville Little League, getting to know all the great outdoor activities in WNC and my monthly trip to Columbus AFB, Mississippi, where I teach the newest pilots of our US Air Force and of our allied nations the basics of military aviation.

Dr. Shawna Hoffert is an experienced dentist practicing in Asheville, North Carolina. She offers a wide range of services including family dentistry, cosmetic dentistry and dental implants. Dr. Hoffert recently relocated to North Carolina upon completion of a residency program in implant dentistry. She cant wait to meet you!
Dr. Hoffert grew up in Greeley, Colorado. She graduated with honors from Colorado State University with a degree in Biology. She attended dental school at the University of Colorado and graduated cum laude in 2005.
In 2010, Dr. Hoffert began her civilian dental career practicing in Texas and Louisiana as an associate dentist while accompanying her husband on his military moves. She used that time to study the specialized dental care of special needs children and completed another residency, CIRP (Comprehensive Implant Residency Program) with a focus on advanced surgical techniques including sinus lift and bone grafting. She graduated in 2014.
That summer Dr. Hoffert, her husband, Stephen, and their three children decided it was time to live near family. Stephens home state of North Carolina was the perfect fit. As business goes in Asheville, they were introduced to Dr. Miller and his practice not through the internet, but through a network of good friends. God blessed them to find Dr. Stephen Miller and his wonderful practice and patients!

I am the worst patient possible: I hate the thought of pain or the an approaching appointment for a month prior. Totally unfounded. And me visit today for a cavity fix had my typical paranoia. And totally non-validated. No pain and the staff was very empathetic. I can't praise enough. Hopefully my fear will listen to me. They are the greatest!

This dentist is cold as ice. The prices that this dentist charges is ASTRONOMICAL! DO NOT COME HERE! Go to a true local, kind, compassionate dentist. This woman is like a cold, drill Sargent.

I visited Red Maple several weeks ago in the hope if finding a new dentist in Asheville since I had just moved here. Red Maple seemed to have good reviews and I needed to wait over 3 months for an appointment which indicated a very busy practice. My first and only appointment lasted one hour and involved a comprehensive exam, huge amount of x-rays and photographs. My initial concern was for a growth on my gum and a old temp crown that needed to be finalized and was causing pain. The Dr told me I needed to have the growth biopsied to rule out cancer. At the end of the appointment I was told I MUST complete the recommended cleanings prior to any work being undertaken, including the biopsy. The costs of the cleaning would be $1300 and could not be completed for a further 3 months. Now here are my concerns about this practice; 1. They didn't seem to put my well being first. What if I did have cancer and had to tolerate these unreasonable delays ? That's not helping me as a patient. 2. The delay in appointment times in this practice is outrageous. 3. Although they seem to be wanting to provide a thorough and comprehensive service, they showed no interest in addressing my pain at all. 4. A week later I was sent a dental treatment plan which combined total was over $17,000. The most alarming thing about this plan apart from the price is the treatment recommendations weren't explained at any time including an extraction and were defined by medical codes I didn't understand. Not patient friendly at all. So in the absense of a focus on looking after me first as the patient, an absurd delay in treatments and a "we'll do it our way attitude" I went in search of another dentist and found one I'm very happy with. I've given Maple Dental a 2 instead of a 1, giving them credit for their comprehensive approach. But ofcourse I have no idea about the quality of their work but I do know it was going to take forever ,!!!

Really went above and beyond for my wheelchair bound mother. She was treated in her chair, and the techs and dentist did a phenomenal job ensuring she felt comfortable and cared for. They did a great job.

I've been pleased with the professionalism of everyone at the office since I became a patient about 2 years ago. Had a cavity taken care of for the first time today and it was clear I was in the care of a well tuned team. They barely had to talk as they were working, they were fast and there was no pain. I won't hesitate to recommend them.

My $5000.00 tooth fell out the same night the work was "completed" while eating rice and vegies. Ms. Hoffert never showed the least bit of concern, never personally contacted me and refuses a refund for the portion of the work which failed and had to be redone by another dental group. I have a nationally known professional who has provided written documentation that her work was not up to standard protocol and why it failed. I have attempted to settle this civilly to no avail. I have spent a fortune on dental work in my lifetime with many fine professionals, but I will never patronize this practice again and do not recommend.

Red Maple Dental has such a wonderful staff, front desk is very friendly and the assistants are top notch, especially Kaitlyn. Dr. Hoffert is so professional and does incredible work. I've had my wisdom teeth extracted and fillings done at this office and I can't thank Dr. Hoffert enough for taking such great care of me and my teeth.

Absolutely the zenith in dental care in the Asheville area. The owner Dr. Shawna Hoffert is simply the highest quality doctor in dentistry others have to follow. Red Maple Dentistry is "THE" place to meet the needs of your dental care. It blows me away that there is on-site lab for making crowns, etc, CT scans for 3D imaging of problems and much more. The business operates like a precision machine with all of the staff involved and very pleasant and knowledgeable. Dr. Hoffert is exemplary in her profession and is really appreciated by all with dental care. Well equipped with state of the art equipment is very impressive and comforting all along with a doctor and staff that really care and love their work offering the best in patient services.

I'll begin this review by stating Dr. Hoffert and the Red Maple team are simply the best. If you are looking for a team of dental experts who utilize the latest technology Red Maple has it. If you need a dentist with the highest level of training and skill set then Dr. Hoffert meets that criteria. She has undergone post graduate training and internships in implant dentistry. She's very pleasant and can explain the most complicated condition or procedure in terms you can understand. I underwent what would be considered a rather a complicated and intricate procedure and she handled it with ease and the highest level of skill. The staff at Red Maple are incredible. Everybody is so nice and friendly that it's like visiting old friends when you go in. And they are all highly trained and professional at their jobs; not to mention caring and sincere in helping you with whatever problem you have. If you are looking for dental care with folks who actually care about you and are at the top of their game then I highly recommend Red Maple Dental.

You'd be hard pressed to find a nicer group of folks. I feel like family, every time I have a visit. Stephanie is the best hygienist and Patty is always so nice. I love this practice and hope I never have to find another dentist!
