The thought of a root canal may make you fearful or uneasy if you arent familiar with the procedure. There are common misconceptions that endodontic treatments such as root canals, cause pain and/or illness and should be avoided at all costs. The exact opposite is true. The pain, inconvenience and cost of avoiding endodontic treatment in favor of tooth extraction or a wait-and-see approach can be easily avoided. The longer you postpone treatment the more you risk the chance to save your tooth. Take the time to read the information on our website to find out what endodontists do to save teeth with minimal time and discomfort. Then address any remaining concerns or questions with your dentist or endodontist.

Decades ago that may have been the case, but with modern technology and anesthetics you wont experience any more pain than if you went to have a cavity filled. The pain from a severe toothache, often caused by damaged tissues in the tooth, can be easily remedied when an endodontist removes the damaged tissue through root canal treatment. In addition, endodontists are experts in pain management, and most cases can be treated quickly and comfortably.

Information you may find on the Internet or elsewhere, claiming that if you receive a root canal treatment youre more likely to become ill or contract a disease in the future simply isnt true. This false claim was based on long-debunked and poorly designed research conducted nearly a century ago, long before modern medicine understood the causes of many diseases. There is no valid, scientific evidence linking root canal treatment to disease elsewhere in the body.

Saving your natural teeth, if possible, is always the best option. Nothing artificial can replace the look or function of a natural tooth so its important to always consider root canal treatment as an option. Endodontic treatment has a high success rate and many root canal-treated teeth last a lifetime. Replacing an extracted tooth with a bridge or implant requires more time in treatment and may result in further procedures to neighboring teeth and supporting tissue.

Its probably hard to imagine using the word pleasant in connection with a root canal but its the only way to describe my experience at Red Bank Endodontics. The entire staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. From scheduling to check out and every interaction in between. Dr Velardi and his assistant made me very comfortable throughout the procedure. He lstened to my concerns and explainined everything that he was doing. While I'd rather not need another root canal in the future I wouldn't hesitate to use this practice again if I did. I can't say enough good things!

I don't love the dentist. My anxiety is so bad that when I see the general dentist, I have to do conscious sedation. I had to have a. Root canal done, and I wasn't excited. My regular dentist tried twice, in two separate visits to complete the root canal and the novo and was not working. I was referred to Dr. Velardi, couldn't be sedated so I was extremely nervous. I was able to take a Valium and paid for the nitrous, and Dr. Velardi was fantastic! I expressed how nervous I was, and the trouble my regular dentist was having, and he assured me it wouldn't be a problem and that I would be made comfortable. He explained literally every step of the process before he did it, when I felt something, he stopped and made sure that he took care of it so that I was comfortable.they even gave me a stress ball so that I could squeeze the hell out of that due to my anxiety. He was fantastic! Absolutely wonderful! Every member of the staff was so friendly and welcoming and kind. I hope I never have to see them again, but, if I ever have to, I'd feel completely confident they were the best people for the job. I would not hesitate to recommend this team to anybody!

I want to thank Dr Velardi and the staff at Red Bank Endodontics. I have had a problem with a previous root canal that was left unfinished 2 years ago (covid lol) and needed to get in as quickly as possible. The front desk was amazing , they were able to get me in within a week. Dr Velardi was the best, his calm demeanor and explanation of everything put me right at ease. I was even able to pass on the nitrous, a first for me! I never felt any pain, and recovery is going better then i could have ever anticipated. I highly recommend Dr Velardi & his professional caring staff at Red Bank Endodontics. Thank you again
