Hi everyone! I want to take this opportunity to tell you a little about myself. I am married with 5 beautiful children, Katie (15), Micah (13), Sydney (11), Josh (8), and Tyler (6). Im a native Salt Laker, attended Brigham Young University and received my dental degree from the Arizona School of Dentistry and Oral Health. Im such a tooth nut I even graduated top of my class. I also completed a post-graduate hospital residency at the University of Utah Medical Center and have practiced here in the Salt Lake area ever since.
It is important to me to always be learning and using the latest advances in treatments and technologies. Just this year I have completed several advanced courses in cosmetic dentistry, implants, endodontics, esthetic crowns and veneers, and oral surgery.
I love keeping up on the latest dental jokes (email me if youve heard a good one). I enjoy hiking along the Bonneville Shoreline Trail and in Utah's National Parks, snowshoeing, camping, playing basketball, hanging out with my awesome kids, and watching the Utah Jazz play.

I actually enjoy going to the dentist. They are all so welcoming and seem to appreciate their customers. Dr Vernon does great work and I trust his judgement

Going to the dentist isn't always fun, right? However, the whole crew at A Reason to Smile Dental is super personable, upbeat, and efficient. I never have to wait, they get me right in, and they're such lovely people, it feels very welcoming every time!

I really appreciate the service I receive with Dr. Vernon. His staff are always kind and helpful. He always explains things to me and helps me understand what is needed and helps me to make the best decisions. I highly recommend Dr. Vernon for all your dental care.

I've been going to Dr. Vernon for a few years now and have been happy with the service and treatments I have received. I hadn't visited a dentist in a few years before seeing Dr. Vernon and he and his team have helped get my dental health back on track. They never shame or scold you unlike some dental offices. Everyone is super friendly and always make sure you comfortable during cleanings and fillings.

I have been seeing Dr. Vernon for over a decade, and I am so pleased with his care! He always takes the necessary time to listen to me, explain things, and he is so gentle. I also like that he wants to give me the best oral health care--not just do as many procedures as possible to make as much money as possible. Sometimes that includes simply watching an area from check-up to check-up, to see if it really needs a filling, or maybe it doesn't. I have full confidence in his knowledge and care, and he is always innovating and learning more. His personal touch makes me feel like he is a real friend, and my partner in my health. (And his hygienist, Mindy, is my favorite!! She is excellent, and makes my cleanings really fun and positive!). Everyone at their office is top-notch, and they are so friendly and accommodating.

Dr. Vernon is amazing! My daughter had to have 3 root canals in a short span of time and our hometown dentist said they were too complicated and would not do them. Dr. Vernon was able to do all 3 with skill and care. We were impressed that he also followed up with phone calls to make sure she was recovering comfortably. It was so worth the hour each way of driving. We trust and love Dr. Vernon!

I have been going to Dr. Vernon for over 10 years. He is amazing and his staff is the best. Even after moving away from his office I just can't see myself going anywhere else, so I make a special trip to Salt Lake just to go to him. Totally worth it!

I have been seeing Dr. Vernon since shortly A Reason 2 Smile opened (8 to 10 years ago). He's an incredible dentist and I recommend him to everybody!! 5 of the 6 families who I have sent in to see him are still patients and the 6th family moved out of state. The rest all swear by him and his staff.

I've never had anyone clean my teeth as well as Mindy does! All of the staff are kind and friendly. Dr. Vernon is friendly, has an eye for detail and wants to make your mouth look it's best. And Jessie in reception takes care of you and makes you feel comfortable!

Dr. Vernon and the team at Reason To Smile Dental are wonderful! Friendly and efficient service from beginning to end. Dental work was painless and quick, but not rushed. Happy to have found such an awesome team to keep my smile healthy!

I Love going to Dr Vernon DDS. He has the most professional and friendly staff. They have the latest equipment so it's a breeze. Mindy makes having your teeth cleaned a joy. I strongly recommend them! Jessie texts me to remind me of my appointments. I just Love them. I've spent my fair share of time in a dentist chair over the years there is no one better! Definitely "A Reason To Smile!"

Dr Vernon is an artist, perfectionist, and had all the last lest tools and techniques. Been going to him for a while and made the chip in my front tooth perfect again. Huge recommendation!

I've been seeing Dr. Vernon since he took over the practice. I'm one of those unfortunate people with bad teeth and have spent way more time in dentist's offices than most. It seems like I've had just about every dental procedure there is. Dr. Vernon and his staff are great. I always feel comfortable in the office and Dr. Vernon is very attentive to me. I feel like he really cares for his patients and their well being. On the financial side. I feel like he is very fair in his billing and is not one push unnecessary procedures. I trust his judgment and would recommend him to anyone.
