While I was in the waiting room, a very rude woman came through. She was upset at the workers because she drove to the wrong address. The desk workers handled her with impeccable customer service without allowing the woman to continue to berate their staff. Very professionally handled, and impressive staff.

I called four orthodontist offices after the sad passing of my previous orthodontist. RLO was the only office that responded in a professional manner. I expect professionalism, but the kindness in which they responded was an admirable perk. I entered a bit panicked from my drive in the heavy traffic and Car, at the front desk was sweet and laid back. Just her response put me at ease. Katelyn continually checked on me and asked how I was doing as she worked. A few areas were uncomfortable and she fixed them. The only discomfort was soreness that comes as your teeth move. Everyone seems to love their job at RLO and it pours over in the way they treat you.

I love Real Life Ortho!! My daughter got her braces put on,Love the staff,when you walk in the office you feel the energy and the staff is always so professional and nice. They like to bond with patients My daughter got her braces there 2 years ago,and now she is going to college for Dental Hygienist.

My experience here was very lackluster. The one thing i have to complain about is long wait time and appointments not being scheduled when they should be. Everyone's work attitude their is just horrible except for a few of the ladies that work their. I don't understand how someone can bring their infant to work and have it crawling around the workspace when that's not the time nor place for it. They don't seem prepared anytime i go their and overall i'm saying that this place isn't the right ortho to go to for a great experience. I heard good reviews about them but when i finally went those reviews came out to be untrue. I am very displeased about me experience and i'm not coming back anytime soon.

RLO has provided me phenomenal care during my braces process. You can tell the second you walk that it's about you. The assistants are really knowledgeable and they seem to look after one another when it comes to double checking each other's work. The ladies upfront are super patient, kind and down to earth. They answered all my questions and truly seem to care about my care and experience. 100% recommend.

They told us that Dr Choi, whom we loved, was leaving and introduced us to the relief ortho, Dr Lenk, who is a perfectly competent orthodontist. My issue isn't with her at all. Management definitely made it seem like she was going to be a new, full time orthodontist. She's not. And when she's not in the office, they don't really bother to staff the practice. So they have reception handling technical questions. If they even answer at all. Nearly every time I call, I get an outgoing message that they're closed. When my invisalign attachments were installed, I was given incorrect care information by someone who was filling in. I was rushed out without instructions and without all of the materials I needed. When my daughter and I had issues early on in treatment it took almost a week for them to get back to us. They seldom answer the phones, even when the website says they should be open. Nobody explained what my treatment plan would look like in advance. I still get information on a totally breadcrumbed basis, after I have to needle them for info. I have no idea what to expect. They tell me that patients feel overwhelmed by too much information. I am severely anxious about dental treatment and I need to know what to expect. Especially when trust with the practice has already been eroded. The whole reason I went with a local ortho practice was so that I would have real life, in person support during treatment. I'm 14 weeks into treatment. For all the trouble, there's been no visible movement. And I have to wait 7 more weeks, realistically, into the new year, before they will rescan. I brought concerns to management. They seemed to understand and then they brought in a corporate exec to talk with me, and she just gaslit me. If I could, I would cancel treatment, get a refund and transfer my care, but I'm pretty sure I'm stuck at this absolute goat rodeo unless I move out of state. I don't think my expectations have been unreasonable: access to the doctor overseeing my care or at least assistants/technicians during business hours be clear communication about what to expect from overall treatment and visit to visit; and at least some visible movement by the time I'm 2/3 of the way through my initial treatment, but none of these have been met. I also want to be clear that it's a management problem, not a doctor /assistant /receptionist problem. It isn't the patient-facing staff's fault that the practice is being run this way. They're doing the best they can. I'm guessing they don't get a lot of support from management, either, and I would bet money that they've been told to lie to patients.

My daughter goes here and it's basically became a joke among my family as to when the phone will ring for them to reschedule again ! Its very frustrating especially when the appointment to remove chains was rescheduled so far that we had to go to a surgeon to have them removed . Not impressed! But your payments are drafted on time thats for sure . I'll remove this review once you guys hold up your end and do the 4-6 week adjustments like your supposed to . This is why we choose a reputable company. So things like this dont happen . I get things come up but it's literally every appointment!

Called this office up after recommendations from other Hokie parents and got my son in today. The staff was wonderful to my son - especially since I am not there helping him navigate the insurance paperwork etc and from my kiddos own mouth - 'this is the most professional dr's office I've ever been in"! Tori hasn't minded the one million questions that my son and I have asked and has taken the time to get all of the answers we needed in order to proceed. I highly recommend and know that my Hokie is looking forward to getting his teeth / retainer straightened out.

Dr. Choi and rest of the staff are outstanding. The reception staff greets you by name and is helpful and efficient with processing insurance information and scheduling appointments. Dr. Choi is very personable and understanding of your situation and your wants/needs. She doesn't try to sell you on a product, she listens to what you want the outcome to be and then details how she can make it happen. Also a special shoutout to Matthew who is fantastic at communicating throughout the entire process of your visit.

My son and I both had a fantastic experience at Real Life Smiles Blacksburg. The staff was extremely helpful and kind. My son (12) was taken care of quite well and even said, "That was the best dental experience ever!" They made sure he was completely comfortable and at ease during the entire process. They took their time, answered all our questions thoroughly and we never felt rushed or "like a number". We will be going back often for adjustments and I look forward to more pleasant experiences!

Not very impressed. They advertise emergency appointments and when someone has an emergency you can't even get a regular appointment. There is a long story behind this I don't feel like typing. Update... No I don't need to contact anyone but you do have some kind of problem there maybe you can address! Seems as if maybe you got too big too quick and apparently can't handle it. Maybe it's staffing? Due to COVID? I don't know but I didn't have a problem. Trying to get my son care because we kept getting the run around. He was up for two nights in pain and we kept getting put on hold for long periods of time when we did get through only then was told someone will call back and they never did. Fix your problem don't assume I'm the problem! I only give honest reviews. Update 2... after we got in everyone was nice and professional. But this doesn't offset the previous issue with getting a straight answer or an appointment.
