Dr. Daniel Ravens grew up in Andover, MA and attended St. Johns Prep in Danvers, where he graduated Valedictorian in 2005. He then majored in biomedical engineering at Duke University and earned a B.S.E. (Cum Laude) in 2009. Following his undergraduate studies, he began his dental career at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine, obtaining a D.M.D. (Magna Cum Laude) in 2013. During his four years in dental school, Dr. Ravens earned several awards, including the Silver Medal Award for Scholastic Excellence by the Harvard Dental Alumni Association and the Outstanding Leader Award from the American College of Dentists. His research in bone regeneration and dental implant therapy led to Dr. Ravens publishing a scholarly article in the Journal of Periodontology in 2011. Following graduation, Dr. Ravens completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency at the VA Medical Center in Providence, RI, where he strengthened his restorative and surgical skills. He is passionate about improving the oral health of his patients and stresses the importance of preventive care to achieve these goals. Dr. Ravens and his family live in Melrose. He enjoys visiting Cape Cod, cheering on the local sport teams, and spending time with his family both inside and outside of work.
Dr. Michael Ravens was born in Reading, MA and grew up in nearby Andover. He earned a B.S. in Biologyfrom Georgetown University in 2002. During his time in college he worked in the field of tissue engineering and has been an author on two papers, including oneproject pursuing tooth regeneration. He graduated from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in 2006 winning the student award for dental materials. After graduation, Michaelcompleted anAEGD program (Advanced Education in General Dentistry) that greatly enhancedhis skills and knowledge while serving as a dentist in the Navy.His interest in technology and its applications in dentistry has helped him to develop techniques to make guided implant surgery safer and more predictable. He has taught courses for the International Dental Implant Association on guided implant surgery. He currently resides in Reading with his wife Marimar and two young boys. He enjoys being a member of the community especially as a youth soccer coach.
Dr. Fred J. Ravens III D.D.S. is a 1978graduate of Georgetown University School of Dentistry. After dental school, he moved to Reading, MA and opened his practice. Throughout the years, his office hasgrown and undergone several renovations. He dedicates himself to the highest standards in dentistry and has taken countless hours of continuing education in order to provide his patients with the highest quality dentistry available. Just as important are the relationships that he builds with patients and their families. After 43 years in practice, Dr. Fred has recently retired, but he still enjoys visiting the office.

Kathy was born in Framingham, MA and has lived in Reading for the last 35 years. She has two children: a daughter 25 years and a son 23 years. She received her degree in Dental Hygiene from the University of New England (Westbrook Campus), Portland, ME. Kathy has been an enthusiastic member of the Ravens Family Dental team with an unwavering devotion to her patients complete dental health. She has thoroughly enjoyed the close personal relationships she has formed with both patients and staff and looks forward to many more rewarding years of practice.
Lynne has been working at Ravens Family Dental since 2002. She earned her hygiene degree at Forsyth School for Dental Hygienists and received a B.S. in Health Sciences from Northeastern University. Her clinical experiences in public health settings, private practice and abroadhave enhanced her ability to provide high quality care and instructionto her patients. In addition, Lynne provides oral health education for public and private schools. When she is not working, Lynne enjoys volunteering for a local non-profit, exercising, and spending time with her family.

Ravens Family Dental has been my family's dependable, professional care team for more years than I can count, way before Drs. Mike and Dan were old enough to drive. I moved to this practice with a former hygienist at a former practice. The entire team provides Class A care from appointments to urgent care, to the most state-of-the-art panoramic mouth assessment when necessary. I've had the same wonderful hygienist for Years! Extractions, crowns, repair, alignment,...they do it all, with extreme accuracy, hygiene and personality. One great family caring for our family. Our married son still goes to this practice 'cause it's the Best.

As a new patient I am extremely pleased and satisfied with the level of dental care provided by Dr. Dan Ravens. The tooth extraction and initial dental implant procedure was clearly explained before and during my appointment. My husband and I have been with Ravens Family Dental for 27 years. We've always had great service including cleanings, check ups, crowns, etc. Our trust in their procedures has been 100%. Dr. Fred, and now Dr. Mike and Dr. Dan are personable and explain all options. The dental hygienists and office staff are all experienced and professional. Most have remained with the dental office long term. The location, hours of service, and the scheduling are all convenient. I highly recommend this dental office for entire families.

After my dentist of 20 years sold his practice, I was in search of a new dentist and a friend recommended Ravens. I cannot be more grateful. Organizational proficiency is an understatement. The dentists, hygienists, front desk associates are beyond friendly, knowledgeable, courteous and professional --literally everyone. As much as I loved my old dentist, I didn't know what I was missing. I can't recommend Ravens Family Dental highly enough. The absolute best.

Our whole family in Reading, including my wife and me, our daughter and her two young children, have gotten all of our dental care (new crowns, new and replacement fillings, routine prophylaxis (their crew of hygienists are all excellent, efficient, very thorough, and pleasant) and even botox injections from Dr. Dan and Dr. Mike ever since we moved to Reading nearly seven years ago. All of us, spanning ages from 8 to 80 (me) have NEVER gotten such consistently superb care from such uniformly pleasant doctors, hygienists, assistants and staff -- and for me, that means 12 different dentists in 8 different locations!

I recently switched over to Ravens from my dentist in Cambridge after moving to Reading several years ago. I just couldn't take the traffic anymore. I found them to be friendly, gentle, and super efficient. Their office runs like a well oiled machine and everyone seems to be happy to work there. I've seen both Dr. Michael & Dr. Dan and love how clearly they explain things and that they're conservative in their recommendations...no scare tactics or pressure to have work done unless it's truly necessary. Very happy I switched!

I have been going to Ravens Family Dental for more than 40 years, starting when it was just Dr. Fred. I find the whole practice to be professional, caring, and always available in case of emergency. I would not think of using anyone else for my dental care.

Great experience. Prompt and professional all involved including the front and professional staff. Much better than local "chain" dental practices. Much appreciated and reputation well deserved! I've experienced several dental practices and I must say that Ravens Family Dental is the best, both professionally and personally. If you have an appointment, and barring any emergencies, your appointment is on time and any procedure performed is done timely and professionally. The services performed, whether it is dental or cleaning is great as my family has no issues. I would recommend Ravens without hesitation for your dental needs.

Great Dental Office.Had a cleaning,dental exam,and xrays.Saw Hygenist Andrea and Dr Dan.They were both wonderful.I normally see Dr Mike and he is fantastic.I chipped a tooth recently and Dr Mike saw me right away and took care of it.Ravens Family Dental treats my entire family.I highly recommend them.
