Dr. David has been in dentistry for over 30 years and opened his practice in Poway in 1992. With newer procedures and more efficient dental services, Dr. David strives to stay on top of the cutting edge of technology by educating himself and others.
Dr. David and his wife Lori enjoy spending their free time boating, traveling and spending time with their 3 married children and 2 grandchildren. They are very active in the Poway community, the local schools and many service organizations. When out of the office, Dr. David can be found mountain biking, snow skiing, jogging, playing racquetball with his buddies and most any activity that involves enjoying the southern California sunshine.

Dr. Chris is a San Diego native, who grew up in Ocean Beach/Point Loma. He attended Point Loma High School and subsequently served in the United States Coast Guard. After completing tours in Hawaii, Virginia and the Caribbean, Dr. Chris utilized his G.I. Bill to obtain his B.S. in Biology at Point Lomas Nazarene University. It was at PLNU that Dr. Chris made the decision to follow in the footsteps of his father and grandfather and pursue a career in dentistry. He was later accepted by the University of the Pacific Arthur A Dugoni School of Dentistry in San Francisco where he graduated in 2019.
Dr. Chris believes that patient comfort, education and quality work are paramount and strives to practice dentistry following the motto Compassion, Skill and Efficiency. When Dr. Chris isnt in the office, he can be found spending time with his wife Breanna (who is currently attending school for her Masters in Nursing Degree at the University of San Diego) and son Drew. The three of them share a love of the ocean and enjoying activities such as surfing, fishing, boating and hanging out at their favorite local beach on Sunset Cliffs.
Michelle and her husband settled in Poway in 1996 from her hometown of Colorado Springs where they met and married. After working with Dr. David in the late 90s she and her family remained patients and we are very fortunate to have her working with us again full-time. She is a huge asset to our office. Acting as a regular volunteer with her Church Community, Michelle has a passion for helping others. With their daughter now married and raising 2 children Michelle and her husband are Blessed to be grandparents to 2 precious granddaughters. When not at work you will find them enjoying bike rides, spending time at the beach & staying busy with family & friends.
Jennifer has been a part of our office for about 9 years now. A native San Diegan, she grew up in Rancho Penasquitos and graduated from Mt. Carmel High School. She is currently finishing her Bachelors degree at Arizona State University. When she is not working she is spending time with her son, family and enjoying concerts and cooking.
Rosita came to San Diego in 1984 after many moves to several states and countries as part of her life in a military family. Although she has enjoyed the experiences of living in different areas and still enjoys traveling with her family, she is very happy to be settled in San Diego with her husband and where her son and daughter-in-law reside. She has been in the dental field for 30 years as a Registered Dental Assistant, starting with chair side assisting before moving to the front office as a Patient Coordinator. In her time off she enjoys various hobbies and outdoor activities with her husband as well as spending time with her family. Rosita has a great passion for her volunteer ministry work.
A native San Diegan, Melissa went into dentistry straight out of high school. After graduating from Cerritos College in LA, she moved back to San Diego and began working with Dr. David in 2000. Being involved with the hygiene society, Melissa stays on top of the ever changing world of dentistry. With two children at home, she and her husband stay busy. When not spending time with her family, Melissa is an active runner who enjoys participating in half marathons throughout the year.
Kimberly graduated from the top of her class from Forsyth School for Dental Hygienists in Boston, Massachusetts. After graduating she returned to her native San Diego. She is happy to be working with Dr. David since 2005. Shes honored to be part of an outstanding dental team and to be at an office that uses the latest technology to help provide our patients with the best care possible. Kimberly and her husband have two grown sons and enjoy spending time with them. In her free time, you can find her running and hiking. Kimberly also enjoys family, concerts/music, travel and sunsets.
Originally from Louisiana, Lori moved to San Diego in 2001, where she has continued her dental career of over 20 years. Lori loves getting to know all of the dental patients that she has the privilege of taking care of. In her time off she enjoys being outdoors doing anything from beach boogie boarding to the desert riding her motorcycle with her husband.
Originally from Las Vegas, NV, where she met and married her husband, they decided to make San Diego their permanent home in 2017. Danielle then pursued her passion of a career in the dental field as a Dental Assistant. In her time off she loves long walks & hikes with her husband and their sweet dog Daisy May.

Some people feel a little anxious before the trip to the dentist. Relaxed and comfortable is how wed like you to feel when you visit our office. Please feel free to tell us about special problems or concerns. Our office keeps current with the latest technology, providing everything from digital x-rays, intra-oral video, to computer charting. We have a variety of ways to help you have a comfortable visit. Your options include nitrous oxide (laughing) gas, stereo earphones, and sedative medications. We are committed to being as gentle and careful as we possibly can be, and we are excited to meet you!

My wife has gone there for years. I switched over now too, and it was a great decision. Staff are not only friendly and helpful, but very good at their jobs. Both procedures I've had seemed smoother and easier than previous experiences.

We first started at Dr. David's office when my kids were young and we were looking for a dentist who would make them comfortable and allow us to come back into the room with them. We found that with Dr. David and his whole office, and soon my husband and I were also going there. Melissa and Kim are absolutely fantastic - so good at their jobs, and also personable and comfortable to be around. I love that my kids are not afraid to go to the dentist (and neither are we!). They definitely have my recommendation.

Amazing Team! They are absolutely great!!! I was looking for a great and reliable dentist and my lovely friend and also teacher referred me to Dr David Rauterkus. I was hosted by a great team at the front desk. In my first appointment with Melissa , the Dental Hygienest and Dr David Rauterkus was absolutely fantastic. Melissa is very detail oriented and she did an excellent dental cleaning on me. I highly recommend them.

I wrote a review a few weeks ago but for some reason it did not get posted . I was with another dentist for over 30 yrs . H e has retired and I was recommended to see Dr. David . I went in and was pleasantly surprised at my welcome from Jennifer . staff was very quick and very nice. Melissa then took over and did a great job of not only do a great job on my teeth , but also knowing I had a pinched nerve in my back . she made sure I was very comfortable and out of pain . I would recommend Dr. David to anyone who would like great service at a reasonable price .

Thanks Dr. Rauterkus! I was at the movies with the family when my entire front veneer came off. This was the day after New Year's. My regular dentist was closed but Dr. Rauterkus had just moved in next door and was open. I walked in and needed rush help and his staff and team were absolutely the best. Dr. Rauterkus took me in and re-cemented the veneer and got me back in action at no charge. I was able to get back to the theater and still finish 3/4 of the movie with my family. What Dr. Rauterkus did was above and beyond and this was an example of amazing service. I highly recommend him and he's a great example of a person truly helping others! Thanks again!

Man - this place is one of the best dentist offices I've ever been in! It's obvious as soon as you walk in how well the staff and doctors get along. They are all so happy and welcoming. Truly a fabulous place. Takes the worry out of the dentist!
