Dr. Ratti Handa welcomes patients of all ages to our Acton dental practice. Dr. Handa is dedicated to helping children and adults achieve and enjoy optimal oral health and wellness using an airway-centered approach to dentistry.

Ratti Handa, D.M.D. is an internationally renowned airway, TMJ, and cosmetic dentist. Dr. Handa is a dentist in Acton, MA who has worked with some of the most prestigious specialty practices in Massachusetts. Dr. Handa has been specially trained in the areas of Biorejuvenation Dentistry, Sleep and Airway Dentistry, and Myofunctional Therapy.
Since completing dental school in 1998, Dr. Handa has been a continuous learner attending some of the most prestigious higher education dental programs including the Pankey Institute, The Spear Institute, The Stewart Center, Vivos Education, and The Breathe Institute.
Dr. Handa has spent hundreds of hours training in state of the art dental technology. More recently, she also graduated as an integrative health coach from the International Integrative Nutrition (IIN) Academy.
Coming from a family of dentists, Dr. Handa understood the perseverance, commitment, and passion it would take to be an exceptional dentist. Dr. Handa received her Doctorate of Dental Medicine from Tufts University Dental School in 1998.
She holds a Bachelor of Dental Science degree from the ABMS Institute of Dental Sciences and completed her residency at the Safderjung Hospitals Department of Oral Surgery in India. She is an active member of the American Dental Association (ADA), Massachusetts Dental Society (MDS), and The Indian Dental Association.
Dr. Handas strength is rooted in the combination of her skills as both an airway and a cosmetic dentist. She has a special understanding of the preservation of a healthy mouth, as well as the art and dynamics of a beautiful smile.
Dr. Handa leads workshops across the country teaching her Person Behind the Teeth philosophy. She teaches other dentists to connect with patients and view dentistry through the patients perspective. Her philosophy is to serve patients as people and not as a chart or x-ray. She considers herself more than a dental care provider, but also a partner in every patients overall well being.
I have worked in the dental field for more than 13 years and completed my hygiene degree in 1997. I have watched the field change and grow so much in that time. I recently trained in Oral Myofunctional Therapy and I am excited to add another component to how I can help patients achieve whole body health.
I grew up in Michigan and have lived in Massachusetts since 2010. I have three children that inspire me to do great things every day. In my free time, I enjoy exercising, hiking with my dog, spending time with my husband and children, and laughing with friends. I live in the moment and try not to waste any of them.
I entered dentistry because a friend suggested it to me as a good field to be in. But now that I have been a dental assistant for over 10 years, I cant imagine doing anything else because it is my passion.
I love working with people and helping others feel better. I have one daughter and I live in Boston. I like to read, travel the world, and focus on living a healthy lifestyle. Dentistry is not just an occupation but part of the whole-body journey.
I have been in dentistry for over eight years. I was inspired by an assignment in High School, to select the most satisfying career. I was intrigued with the idea of being a Dental Assistant and from that moment on I have fallen in love with such. It has become my portal in fulfilling my passion, in helping others.
Laugher is my joy, super energetic and being positive is who I am. Maintaining a healthy lifestyle, exercising and dancing is my life balance passion. I enjoy spending time with my husband, two dogs and friends. Currently residing in Fitchburg, MA which I enjoy and love.
Dr. Ratti Handa welcomes children and adult patients to join our dental care family in Acton, MA. Dr. Handa is committed to the overall health and wellness of our patients and practices Airway Centered Dentistry which serves as the foundation of your care in our office.
Airway Dentistry focuses on the health and function of the airway as it facilitates normal breathing. Sleep disorders, bite problems and upper airway restriction syndrome have been identified as underlying causes of many symptoms affecting the quality of life in both children and adults.
Please alert the office if you have a medical condition that may be of concern prior to surgery (i.e. diabetes, high blood pressure, artificial heart valves and joints, rheumatic fever, etc.) or if you are on any medication (i.e. heart medications, aspirin, anticoagulant therapy, etc).
If your dentist has taken x-rays, you may request that they forward them to our office. If there is not enough time, please pick them up and bring them to our office. If additional films are necessary, they can be taken at our facility.
We try our best to stay on schedule to minimize your waiting. Due to the fact that Dr. Handa provides many types of dental services, various circumstances may lengthen the time allocated for a procedure.

Dr Handa and her team are exceptional, first rate clinicians who blend therapeutic, healing approaches with brilliant dental expertise. They treat the whole person, not just the teeth - and they do so with care, kindness and a passion for interdisciplinary medical knowledge, professional brilliance and holistic touches. I have been coming here for three years, and every time they light up my day, meet the story of my health with curiosity and empathy, and they make me laugh - which is not something you often hear people say about going to the dentist! I drive from Boston to come here, and it's worth it: I could not recommend them more highly, especially if you have any concerns or anxiety about dental work, or are wondering if your symptoms are linked to the jaw, tongue, neck, shoulders, etc - this is the place!

This is a lovely office with very nice people. However, they are out of network for all insurance plans and they might not tell you that when you make an appointment. I had to go to Dr. Handa for an emergency when my dentist was on vacation and Dr. Handa was the covering dentist. Unfortunately no one told me that they were out of network and therefore my insurance only payed for a very small portion of my bill. While it is true that I didn't ask about insurance when I called to make the appointment, it would have been common courtesy for the office staff to have told me they are out of network **for ALL insurance plans**. Had I known this ahead of time, I would have gone somewhere else. I'm now out $300.

Dr. Handa is a skilled healer and such a caring person. I had been having terrible weekly migraines for years and never would have imagined that my relief would involve dentistry. Dr. Handa looked at my health as a whole and used thorough diagnostics to find the root of my issue rather than just tackling the surface effects. Since starting her recommended treatment I am living pain-free. I can't recommend this place enough. The office is also beautiful and so relaxing. It feels more like a spa than a dental office.

Best experience I have had at any dentist office. The whole place has a relaxing, gentle feel and the staff made me feel welcome and comfortable from start to finish. They explained everything as they went, and I felt like an active participant in the process. I was thoroughly impressed after my initial exam a few months ago, and I have had several appointments since. Each time I leave, I feel cared for, and have a better understanding of my own health and how to care for myself. They do an excellent job educating in a way that is easy to understand. I was a mix of hopeful and skeptic going in, hoping they could help me get a better quality of life. With their help, I have made a lot of new connections regarding my health in the last few months, and I am sleeping better, feeling better, etc. The value of the care they offer is well worth the price! I highly recommend Dr. Handa and her whole team.

Dr. Handa is a lifesaver. Having suffered from TMJ/TMD for most of my life, and having gone to a dozen different dentists trying to avoid jaw surgery, Dr. Handa is the first doctor to believe in my own capacity to heal myself and to guide me on this journey. Competent, patient, kind, thoughtful, she is the doctor we need! Thank you, Dr. Handa! I started seeing Dr. Handa at the beginning of the pandemic, and our visits together at her office are some of my brightest memories of the past two years. She and her team are remarkably competent and truly care about the well-being of her patients. Dr. Handa utilizes many different kinds of technology, testing, and professional networks in order to provide the best and most comprehensive experience possible for her patients, and I wouldn't be where I am today with her. For anyone with TMJ/TMD, tongue or lip ties, sleep apnea, structural issues, grinding or clenching, or misaligned bite, I highly recommend checking Dr. Handa out!

I don't have words to describe the relief I'm feeling right now, except I feel like my body has melted away, and the tension in my jaw and shoulders has disappeared. Dr. Handa and the Beyond Dentistry Team is fabulous. Our whole family has been working with Dr. Handa and what stands out to be is not only her clinical expertise but also her / her team's personalized care for her patients. She is truly a blessing. Watching my husband wake up energized and witnessing my kids eating well again is a huge blessing. I highly recommend working with Dr. Handa and her team.

The appointment lasted two hours, dentist promised a lot, end up with paying more money and the same problems. Be Aware!!! The owner response is not true. I used to be a patient. She has my records. Very unprofessional practice and response.

I've been dealing with neck and shoulder pain for the last 5 years or so. My wife found Dr. Handa after she suspected I had a tongue tie and I reached out to her in search of guidance. She confirmed I had a significant tongue tie that was contributing to my neck and jaw issues. The surgery to correct the tie was relatively painless and has almost erased my neck pain that has been holding me back for years. We are currently working to reverse bad orthodontic work from when I was a kid to improve my breathing and give my newly freed tongue more room. I sleep better now than I ever had before in my life since my surgery. I feel like I have a new lease on life thanks to Dr. Handa and her team. They have cutting edge equipment and the best bedside manor I've ever experienced. The myofunctional therapy they provide has also improved the use of my tongue and improved my breathing. I recommend Dr. Handa to anyone looking to improve their dental experience. I live 5 hours away in Pennsylvania and come to see her every couple of weeks. Thank you Dr. Handa for all that you've done and continue to do for me.

Dr. Handa is among the very top of her field, and she runs one of the most caring practices I've known. I've been seeing her to undo some bad orthodontic work in the past, and now to release a tongue tie that was holding us back a bit. This was the best, most relaxing, least painful oral surgery ever. Functionally no pain, not even the next day. Perfect, precise stitches that impressed my doctor when I saw him a few days later. Since the release, my neck pain's gotten a lot better, and my breathing and sleep are improving. It's amazing. Handa's been seeking out mentorship from the pioneers in several fields related to jaw development and myofunction, and it's given her an expertise you just don't find elsewhere around here. Plus she's SUPER kind and caring for her patients. She's going above and beyond for me honestly. Seriously cannot say enough good things about her and the team she's put together. I'm very excited to see how things keep improving with the jaw work we're doing. Highly, highly recommend.

My family has worked closely with Dr. Handa for 6 years. She is a warm, intuitive, calm person, and particularly wonderful with children and people who are anxious or in pain...I've recommended her to lots of friends and have yet to meet anyone who doesn't love her! My 14 year-old son, whom she's treating with the DNA appliance and MYO therapy, is starting to breathe through his nose at night, and his teeth are starting to straighten as they find more space. We're amazed at his progress, and he is motivated to keep going because of how Dr H is able to encourage and empower him without overwhelming him. Dr. Handa is smart, highly skilled, and experienced--a perfectionist who's always pushing herself to learn more and to bring her practice to the next level. What sets her apart for us is her commitment to finding and addressing the root cause of dental problems, TMJ pain, and breathing issues, and to a holistic understanding of how these relate to our overall health. She's a true partner and advocate, and we look forward to visiting her office because we know we'll be listened to and cared for with kindness and respect. If you're ever afraid of dentists then this is the place to go. Dr. Handa and her staff will make you very comfortable before they start to work on you. (Ask for warm compresses and throws for longer procedures!) My mouth has needed undefined help for years and I've never been able to get to the stage where maintenance will be enough, always playing catch up and repair, until I started seeing Dr. Handa and her incredible hygienist. The symptoms of discomfort in my mouth have become less severe thanks to Laura. She did research on her own time, to help me find natural remedies/relief. For me, this service is priceless. I couldn't recommend them with more sincerity.

Recently I placed Veneers on my lower front teeth because of teeth chipping. I have Veneers on my upper front teeth that were placed by Dr. Handa awhile ago and they look beautiful. I was worried about placing lower Veneers because of potentially having a negative impact on my alignment. However they are absolutely beautiful! I was very surprised at how my jaw is now aligning and bite improvement. Dr Handa and her team provide impressive and very high quality dental care and I am very satisfied!!! thanks

I knew I had issues with my TMJ, but had no idea that my symptoms were all connected. Dr Handa and her team went above and beyond in their personal interest in my case, and I really appreciate how they always explain everything so that I'm comfortable and know what to expect. I've been using the C20 appliance for about 5 months and am practically symptom-free now! I'm so grateful to have the relief I've been looking for.
