Dr. Matthew H. Caspersen was born in Berkeley, California. With his father in the Marine Corps, he spent time in Arizona, Virginia, and England before settling down in Minnesota. Dr. Caspersen received his undergraduate degree from the University of Saint Thomas in Saint Paul, Minnesota, and followed in his fathers footsteps by joining the Marines.
After completing his service in the military, Dr. Caspersen took a great interest in orthodontics. He decided to make a career change and attended the Medical College of Virginia, where he earned his Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree. He received a Masters in Orthodontics from the University of Iowa.

Not really pleased with the final result months later. Everything looked good during treatment, I guess its a retention issue. Doctor is very nice, but I was told there was nothing else they could do. Price was good but not when I may need treatment again elsewhere.

It's so nice to go to a doctors office that has such great customer service! That's so hard to find nowadays. The entire staff is phenomenal and Dr. Caspersen even came in on a Friday when they are normally closed to fix my son's wire that was cutting his cheek! Highly recommend them!

Dr Caspersen and his amazing staff saw 2 of our 4 kids. My daughter went through phases 1 and 2 under their care. She began at age 8, and just ended at almost 15. We were patients for the entire 7 years we called Stafford home. The positive, friendly atmosphere is welcoming. Always accommodating with appointment times due to school, soccer, piano etc... My son enjoyed Dr Caspersens jokes and I appreciated his frankness about getting my stubborn son to wear those dang rubber bands lol. I only wish our youngest who is in need of orthodontic care could be seen here.. but, #PCS. Highly recommend. Take care, and thanks for the memories!

Initial visit was fabulous! They did a thorough evaluation, to include digital exrays. Everything was explained clearly from the process to the financing. EVERYONE was friendly and welcoming. Will evaluate again once the braces are on and throughout the process. Here's hoping the initial impression is a good representation of their actual services! Update: Two years later (or is it 3?!) and I still highly recommend Dr. Caspersen and Rappahannock Orthodontics! My son was born with a cleft lip and palate so it gets kind of complicated in his mouth lol! Dr. Caspersen has been on top of it every step of the way and his staff continues to be delightful.

Excellent orthodontist. Friendly and engaged staff. Everyone is excited and passionate about creating beautiful smiles. I like their automated check-in system, quick appointments and personalized consultation and plan from the beginning of the braces journey.
