Hands down, the best part of being an orthodontist is being in a position where I can truly help when a need arises. Everyone deserves straight, healthy teeth: not only does this create a beautiful smile that improves a persons self-confidence, but properly aligned teeth improves oral and overall wellness and delivers a better quality of life.
Ive been practicing for more than 20 years and treasure the friendships and what Ive learned in that time. My patients are important to me as people: I love the excitement and energy they bring to the office and how much they teach me about the world. I love how my younger patients share stories about their life and interests. Their youthful, and often unfiltered, perspective is energizing. I treasure my conversations with older patients just as much. They have so much insight and experience to share with me!
My coworkers are the foundation of our practice: I can always count on their professionalism and dedication to excellence. More importantly, I witness every day the love they feel and convey to each and every patient. Our patients are an extension of our family and we care about them with the utmost respect, compassion, and yes, love.
We have a special team member: Sunshine, my dog. Shes accompanied me to the office almost every day for more than 10 years! She loves her job. The minute I reach for my bag in the morning, Sunshine rushes to the front door, ready to go to work and see her patients!
My commitment to knowledge, to staying at the leading-edge of advancements in orthodontics didnt end when I received my certificate. Ours is a constantly evolving specialty and its my responsibility to stay current on those changes. Through continuing education, I ensure Im fully informed of new techniques and technologies and able to determine which are appropriate for my patients.
In addition to being a faculty member in the Department of Orthodontics at the University of Missouri-Kansas City, Im an active member of the Tweed Study Club. I also attend local, regional, and national orthodontic conferences and lectures, participate in seminars, and avidly study oral healthcare journals.
I lived all over the world when growing up. I was born in Iran and lived there until I was nine. My family then moved to Tanzania, in East Africa, where we lived for four years. We then moved to India for a year and then to the U.S., to Ohio. I graduated from high school in Stow, OH, and moved to California for a year of college, took some time off to work in construction in Las Vegas, NV, and then returned to college, first in California and then in Kansas.
For more than 20 years Ive been here in Lawrence and now call it my home. In my spare time, I enjoy being with my daughter, lending a hand at the Phoenix Gallery, and tinkering with my 39 Chevy pickup. I also enjoy fishing but, for some reason, have yet to find the best spot!

A friend referred us to Dr Ranjbar and we went to several other orthodontists before deciding on Dr Ranjbar. He is so great with kids and so is the entire staff. Hands down the best one we went to and very happy with our decision.

Dr. Ranjbar and his staff are the best of the best! This was my second time going through braces, this time as an adult, and it was a fantastic experience. I had stopped going for a while due to personal reasons and when I came back we started right back up where we left off. I am so thankful for the confidence this team has given me in my smile!

Dr. Ranjibar and his staff have always been very professional, helpful and kind. I have had 2 children see Dr. Ranjibar over the past 15 years and now I am going to get my teeth fixed! He and his staff explain everything and answer all your questions. They are also very flexible with scheduling to meet your needs. They really go above and beyond! I would highly recommend Dr. Ranjibar!

I love all of the staff. They did a free consultation with x-rays, for my daughter and told me her teeth looked great. I also go here for my braces and my experience has been great. I would definitely recommend for adults and kids!

Braces journey: 1997 was the year that Dr. Ranjbar placed on my "appliances". He was very patient with me and my many questions and I had a lot of questions...I needed and wanted braces as a kid and didn't get them until I was 27-when I could pay for them myself. Even as an adult back then, I remember being embarrassed to smile with my teeth showing. Although my teeth were always very clean, they were crowded. Here's the story; I was a middle school saxophonist with soft growing bones...needless to say, my teeth were slowly moving and by the end of that semester my two, bucked teeth had company in the front of my mouth--end of story....SoOoo...from then on, I kept my mouth closed more often when I smiled and I really avoided doing what I love most--singing. Dr. Ranjbar's orthodontic services was a major cosmetic investment that made a significant impact on my self confidence...and my appointments were therapeutic. He always explained every step of the processes. His quality care for my clean crooked teeth was beyond what I could have imagined. He genuinely took pride in his work which is very important to me, and I appreciated it. But, there is one but... I have to say that once those braces came off, you literally couldn't shut me up! Plus, I smiled so much that my cheeks would hurt! I remember telling Dr. Ranjbar that once I became a famous gospel singer, I would thank him publicly on television at an awards show. Well, that didn't happen! In lieu of my singing career I somehow became a teacher... In 2021 at such as time as this while reflecting on blessings, Dr. Ranjbar came to my mind. I pray that all is well with him and his family and that his faith is even stronger in the Lord. His professionalism and work ethic should be an orthodontic training standard model for accredited universities and technical schools all over!

I have had Invisalign for almost a year and can see a total change in my teeth. They have gotten so straight is such a short amount of time. Dr. Ranjbar and his coworkers are always calm and answer every question I have.

We have never had a more streamlined, kind, easy experience with a medical provider. Ranjbar Ortho and their team treat us like family, and they make the process so easy to understand. They also make things affordable, which as a parent means the world to us. I truly am just loving this place. And my son Rhett loves his new retainer. I mean, what kid loves a retainer? But due to their ability to communicate with kids on their level, he is really proud of his new gear. Thank you Ranjbar!
