I am truly blessed to be an orthodontist. It allows me to live by the adage, Love what you do and you wont have to work a day in your life. Thats how I feel as I come into Rangewood Orthodontics each and every day. Coming to work allows me to work as an artist uncovering a beautiful, unique smile found in each one of our patients while creating new lasting relationships in my community. I believe our work brings about positive, lasting changes in the lives of our patients!

Each day I get to spend time with fascinating people from a variety of backgrounds. They all have stories to tell, and we often end up sharing our stories and experiences. We become partners, working together toward the shared goal of a beautiful, healthy smile. One that will last a lifetime. Dr. Chad

Dr. Chad Watts attended Gonzaga University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. While he initially thought he was going to be a scientist, a personal experience led him to become passionate about changing peoples lives through their smiles.

Knowing his new calling, Dr. Chad attended Oregon Health Sciences University where he was awarded a Doctorate of Dental Medicine and graduated near the top of his class. He was honored to have worked with some of the top scientists in oral microbiology, receiving the National Institutes of Health (NIH) grants all four years while in dental school. He was fortunate enough to have his research published and presented at the NIH annual meeting.

Following graduation with his DMD, Dr. Chad served as a comprehensive dentist taking care of our Army and Air Force troops at Elmendorf AFB, AK. With strong recommendations from his Command, he was accepted into the militarys highly competitive Tri-Services Orthodontic Residency Program, in San Antonio, TX. After graduating from Wilford Hall Medical Center, Dr. Chad and his family spent three incredible years stationed in Misawa, Japan, as he served as the Chief of Orthodontics serving Army, Navy, and Air Force members and their families.

Orthodontics is a constantly changing profession. The ongoing developments in technology such as Insignia custom braces, Invisalign, and custom lingual braces allow new approaches to treatment, resulting in a better experience for patients and even more amazing smiles. By actively pursuing continuing education, locally and nationally, Dr. Chad can ensure that he is always current on the newest treatment options.

Dr. Chads most famous for being impaled by half-inch rebar while fishing in a local river and surviving a rare bacterial infection. His favorite activity, by far, is spending time with his wife Jenee and their four amazing kids, Carter, Jenna, Cohen, and Caden. In his free time, you will find him on the soccer field, lacrosse field, or fly fishing throughout the Northwest trout and salmon streams. Being outside is a priority away from the office, as is his love for barbecue with friends.

Dr. Chad and his wife founded the El Paso County chapter of Smile for a Lifetime, an organization that enables them to provide free orthodontic treatment for up to 12 children a year. They are also the volunteer orthodontists for Kids in Need of Dentistry, and active in multiple high schools, middle schools and elementary schools in Colorado Springs, Fountain, Manitou Springs, Monument,Castle Rock, and Woodland Park.

I am truly blessed that I was introduced to the profession at a young age, through my dad who is also an orthodontist, and I quickly fell in love. My fondest memories are of sitting at the workbench in our garage at night helping him make retainers, or watching him put braces on my Cabbage Patch dolls.

Orthodontics combines two of my passions: working with my hands and meeting new people. Each day, I get to spend time talking with my patients and learning fascinating new stories from people of all different backgrounds. As we talk and joke it builds a special rapport as we work together towards the shared goal of a beautiful, healthy smile. I love when my patients return years later with family or friends and I hear all the amazing stories of the things they are going on to accomplish! I love using my talents to bring about positive, lasting changes in the lives of my patients, and, quite literally, giving them a reason to smile. Dr. Kaplan

Dr. Jenee Kaplan attended La Sierra University in Riverside, California to obtain her Bachelors of Science degree in Biology. After graduation, she continued her education at Loma Linda University in Loma Linda, California, where she was awarded her Doctorate of Dental Science and graduated near the top of her class. Dr. Kaplan was then accepted into the highly competitive Orthodontic Residency Program at Loma Linda where she earned her Masters degree.

Orthodontics is a profession that is continually changing, with new technology and advances in treatment techniques emerging every year. Dr. Kaplan actively pursues continuing education, in Colorado as well as internationally, to ensure that she provides the most current options and best possible experience to her patients.

Most recently, Dr. Kaplan has attended the annual meetings for the American Association of Orthodontics, Invisalign seminars, Damon Forum, and additional local and international conferences. She also participates in online webinars for topics including TMD and sleep apnea, and stays current in the latest research from publications like the American Journal of Orthodontics.

Dr. Kaplan grew up in Nipomo, California, and has lived in Colorado Springs, Colorado for the last five years. She and her husband, Dr. Chad Watts, have four children, Carter, Jenna, Cohen, and Caden.

When shes not in the office, Dr. Kaplan can be found at the gym or out on the lacrosse and soccer fields with her kids. She loves spending time with her family and traveling to different parts of the world to discover new places and experience different cultures and people. Dr. Kaplan is also a major techie and sci-fi nerd. She loves gadgets and has a color-changing Star Trek mug among her most beloved possessions!

Drs. Kaplan and Watts founded the El Paso County chapter of Smile for a Lifetime, an organization that enables them to provide free orthodontic treatment for up to 12 children a year. They are also the volunteer orthodontists for Kids in Need of Dentistry. It is her sincere belief that at the heart of a thriving community are individuals who care for one another in times of need, and that the confidence of a healthy, beautiful smile should be available to every child.
