Dr. Randy L. Smith graduated from the University of Pennsylvania Dental School. He then decided it was time to return home to Phoenix to start both a dental practice and a family. Since 1988, Dr. Smith has been providing families in Arizona with unsurpassed quality when it comes to their dental care and loves every minute working with patients.
Dr. Smith, his wife, and two grown children participate in many charitable opportunities to serve the community. He has served the Phoenix community as St. Josephs Hospitals WellCare Foundations Dental Director and practitioner, and volunteers at John C. Lincolns Childrens Dental Clinic. For more than 20 years, he has worked with the Flying Samaritans as a part of their dental team. Through this organization, he travels to Baja California to give crucial dental care to communities in crippling poverty. Dr. Smith has earned the Presidential Medal for Volunteerism and the WellCare Foundation Compassionate Volunteer Award.
After graduating from Arizona State University, Dr. Kovacik received his Doctorate of Dental Medicine (DMD) from the Arizona School of Dentistry and Oral Health. He also holds a Master of Public Health (MPH) from the Arizona School of Health Management and completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) residency from the Lutheran Medical Center at the Maui Oral Health Center in Hawaii. Dr. Kovacik has been awarded esteemed fellowships with the Academy of General Dentistry (FAGD) and the American College of Dentists (FACD), an organization recognizing dentists for high standards of ethics and leadership in dentistry.
Dr. Kovacik believes community leadership and continual professional development are the hallmarks of a good dentist. He holds leadership positions with the Central Arizona Dental Society (CADS) and the Arizona Academy of General Dentistry (AzAGD). Dr. Kovacik was a graduate of the inaugural class of the Leadership Exploration and Development Program (LEAD) with the Arizona Dental Association. He also served as Adjunct Faculty at Midwestern Universitys College of Dental Medicine.
Dr. Kovacik lives in Phoenix and focuses his philanthropic efforts on helping underserved individuals in the area. His volunteer activities include the Arizona Mission of Mercy, Give Kids a Smile, and Catholic Charities of Arizona. Outside of dentistry, Dr. Kovacik likes to take advantage of the amazing Arizona environment by hiking, backpacking, and mountain biking with his wife and daughter. He also has a passion for traveling and has lived in fourdifferent countries throughout his life.
