Q: Which type of toothbrush should I use? A: The brand of the toothbrush is not as critical as the type of bristle and the size of the head. A soft toothbrush with a small head is recommended because medium and hard brushes tend to cause irritation and contribute to recession of the gums, and a small head allows you to get around each tooth more completely and is less likely to injure your gums. Its unnecessary to scrub the teeth as long as you are brushing at least twice a day and visiting your dentist at least twice a year for cleanings.

Q: Is one toothpaste better than others? A: Generally, no. However, its advisable to use a fluoride containing toothpaste to decrease the incidence of dental decay. We recommend our patients use what tastes good to them as long as it contains fluoride.

Q: How often should I floss? A: Flossing of the teeth once per day helps to prevent cavities from forming between the teeth where your toothbrush cant reach. Flossing also helps to keep your gums healthy.

Q: Whats the difference between a crown and a cap? A: These are restorations to repair a severely broken tooth by covering all or most of the tooth after removing old fillings, fractured tooth structure, and all decay. The restoration material is made of gold, porcelain, composites, or even stainless steel. Dentists refer to all of these restorations as crowns. However, patients often refer to the tooth-colored ones as caps and the gold or stainless-steel ones as crowns.

Q: Whats the difference between a bridge and a partial denture? A: Both bridges and partial dentures replace missing teeth. A bridge is permanently attached to abutment teeth or, in some cases, implants. A partial denture is attached by clasps to the teeth and is easily removed by the patient. Patients are usually more satisfied with bridges than with partial dentures.

Q: What about silver fillings versus white fillings? A: Although the U.S. Public Health Service issued a report in 1993 stating there is no health reason not to use amalgam (silver fillings), more patients today are requesting white or tooth-colored composite fillings. We also prefer tooth-colored fillings because they bond to the tooth structure and therefore help strengthen a tooth weakened by decay. While fillings are also usually less sensitive to temperature, and they also look better. However, white fillings cannot be used in every situation, and if a tooth is very badly broken-down, a crown will usually be necessary and provide better overall satisfaction for the patient.

Q: Do I need to have a root canal just because I have to have a crown? A: No. While most teeth which have had root canal treatments do need crowns to strengthen the teeth and to return the teeth to normal form and function, not every tooth needing a crown also needs to have a root canal.

Outstanding experience! Highly recommended! ... Dr. Carrera and staff were incredibly professional, courteous, and knowledgeable during my visit. Check-in was a snap as the forms were available online to complete prior to arriving. Time was taken to inform me of any options available to me for the recommended procedures through a proper treatment plan. Procedures were completed with care in a very timely manner. Cool music streaming in the background to boot. All details of my visit were handled thoroughly and efficiently from x-rays to filling my prescription. Any fear of visiting the dentist were allayed. Thank you Rancho Dental. Keep up the great work!

I have quite a long review to write!! If you want the short version - just know this place is AMAZING!! Please go here 1000% Dear Rancho Dental Care, I grew up in some not-so-great conditions. I never learned the discipline and habits that most kids did. I never brushed my teeth or took care of myself until it was absolutely necessary. I'm pretty sure my first root canal was when I was 8 or 9 years old. Finally, I got to the point where I was on my own and needed to fix all of my years of broken teeth, trying to take care of them, and learn new habits. When I walked into Rancho Dental, I DID NOT expect for them to have ANY answers on how to fix my teeth. They were basically falling apart every time I ate ANYTHING. I had spent over a year at Western Dental fighting with my insurance to support me in getting new crowns & fix me up. The Western Dental team was pretty horrible, unkind, and unwelcoming & all of this is the COMPLETE opposite for Rancho Dental. Monica and the entire team have SUCH bright and warm energies. Within my first appointment, the dentist was pretty frank with me. He let me know that there was a lot of work to be done but the one thing he said that stuck with me was, "don't be worried, we can fix it!" That was the first time a dentist actually gave me true HOPE that all my years of failing to take care of myself didn't have to continue to affect me. After that, I spent time speaking with Monica. She recommended me to slide into a new insurance that Rancho Dental works closely with. I ended up getting accepted into this insurance and since that day, Monica fought tooth and nail to get almost ALL of my dental work covered. At the end of it all, I walked away with a new opportunity to take care of my teeth, have them all pretty and fixed, and gratitude for this Rancho Dental team. Thank you Rancho Dental, you changed my life forever and I will NEVER forget the pain and suffering you saved me from.

Had 4 minor cavities, the dentist I had 3+ years ago would numb the area and it would still hurt. This time I didn't feel a thing. Great personalities and friendly staff. Very professional, I would recommend to all my friends and family 100/100

I have been to three prior dentist before ending up at Rancho Dental Care. Each dentist said I had different problems with different teeth. None of it really made sense. Today I felt as if the dentist was actually extremely competent and explained with great reasoning why I was having certain difficulties with certain teeth. I will be going back in the near future for a procedure that other dentist did not recommend but I knew I needed. All the staff that I came in contact with were extremely helpful and patient. That means a lot to me deciding who I choose to work on my teeth. Hopefully all procedures in future will go as well. But so far I have a really good feeling about this place.

Canceled three different appointments within 24 hours of the scheduled time. Per their cancelation policy, they should owe me $120 as they charge customers $40 if cancelling within 48 hours. If you value your time, don't us Rancho Dental.

I treated first class. The employees were great and the doctor seems to know the best treatment plan for the patient. Just waiting on the treatment plan from the front office. Otherwise it would have a 5 star rating.

I hadn't met any of the four people I interacted with on past visits, but they have a knack for hiring the most wonderful staff. It's not often the case that people say a trip to the dentist is the highlight of their day, but for me it was.
