Dr. Caponigro served as Co-Director of Implant Surgery at Columbia University in the Department of Dental & Oral Surgery. Additionally, he was an assistant clinical professor at Columbia for 13 years. He considers himself extremely fortunate that he was able to be on the ground floor during the early introduction and development of dental implants in the United States.

The field of dental implants was introduced to the world following scientific protocols developed in Sweden. Dr. Caponigro was in his surgical training residency during the introduction of dental implants to North America. This allowed for significant exposure at the onset of dental implants. After serving as Chief Resident at Nassau County University Medical Center, East Meadow, NY, he joined his father, Dr. Carmine Caponigro, who in 1969 had established Ramapo Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. In this very progressive implant based practice in Suffern, NY, Dr. David Caponigro was able to assimilate his fathers teachings and continue with his progressive thinking, enabling him to be on the cusp of current techniques. His extensive experience (over 25 years) and the luxury of long term patient follow-up care, provides Dr. Caponigro and his associates with the significant advantage of being aware of which implant techniques will optimize the esthetic results for each unique individual.

Throughout his career, Dr. Caponigro has developed and continues to evolve his minimally invasive surgical techniques. Incisions and exposure are minimized for all procedures, from wisdom teeth, to implants, to jaw reconstruction. Most implants are placed through small openings (punches) not requiring sutures. This greatly reduces, and often eliminates post operative discomfort and swelling.

Dr. David Caponigro presently serves as Chief of Dentistry & Oral-Maxillofacial Surgery at Good Samaritan Hospital and maintains staff privileges at Nyack Hospital. He has served as both Craniofacial Surgeon and Team Consultant at Helen Hayes Hospital; Director of Chief Subsection Dentistry, and Department of Surgery at Jawonio Development Center; Assistant Clinical Professor at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital; and Assistant Attending Nassau University Medical Center. He also has had the honor of serving as a volunteer surgeon, helping children in South America by repairing neglected cleft lips and palates.

Dr. Caponigro has resided in Rockland County since early childhood and attended local public schools. He attended Fordham University and graduated with top honors. From Fordham, he directly entered Columbia University School of Dental and Oral Surgery and finished at the top of his class. He was selected to Nassau County University Medical Centers competitive Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery residency, where in his last year he was chief resident. Here he gained significant experience with orthognathic (jaw straightening), facial reconstructive surgery, and implant dentistry.

During these past 25 years, Dr. Caponigro has been involved in the continuing evolution of the field of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. He became Board Certified, at first qualification, by the American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons. He remains as a fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, and the America College of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.

If you are seeking the most highly competent, experienced, compassionate, friendly, thorough professional, to take care of you and your family's oral surgical needs, you will have found all of that and more, in Dr. Drew Nunziata. He and his equally talented and compassionate staff, are, in a word, "amazing", in every conceivable way. In addition to using the most advanced diagnostic technologies, Dr. Nunziata considers all possible options for your treatment, provides highly detailed advice, and then partners with you to assure the very best outcome for your personal situation. After having 5 extractions and 4 implants here, it is difficult for me to imagine having a more positive and comfortable experience anywhere else. In short, Dr. Nunziata has my highest possible recommendation. I am most fortunate to have found him. You should consider his services - if you want the very best of everything!

If you work hard for a living avoid DR Hendi. I work as an ER Nurse, On my feet for 12 hrs a shift. Dr Hendi limited my recovery time to only a few days. His ability to empathize with others is limited.

From the moment I called to set up my appointment for a consultation with Dr Nunziata, I was put at ease. Anyone facing any type of surgery has some trepidation. Each person I encountered in this office helped me to realize I was in good hands. Genuine professionalism, knowledge, and calmness of this office allowed me to move forward with the surgery that had to be completed. Dr. Nunziata took the time to answer all my questions and explained thoroughly what the procedure was going to be about. All of his assistants that I came in contact with, were knowledgeable.and patient and definitely helpful in making me feel confident that I was doing the right course of action for the best of my oral health. I would recommend anyone needing Oral Surgery to see Dr. Nunziata at Ramapo oral Surgery. Also, I will add that the personnel in office help you with appointments and payments that best fit your needs ,in a very patient manner.

I had 3 teeth removed by dr caponigro with little discomfort or swelling. His office is extremely clean with the most updated equipment. Besides dr caponigro being a top of the line oral surgeon he has a professional staff to support his practice. Again highly recommended!

This is a caring and professional office . I had the opportunity to be treated by Dr Drew and his team. From the first call made to set my consultation through the surgical appointment and follow up it was an amazing experience. This is an office that has great rapport within the team which projects to the patient. I extend my utmost gratitude to Dr Drew and his team for caring for me and about me through my treatment.

I highly recommend Ramapo Oral Surgery and Dr Hendi. My daughter had two surgeries for a tooth that was going to come in through the roof of her mouth and all three of my children had their wisdom teeth removed by Dr Hendi. He was caring, informative and we had no major issues with all 5 of these surgeries. When we needed assistance they were a phone call away and very compassionate. The office staff is very professional, always on time and accommodating. My youngest child had some swelling a few weeks after the surgery the day we were leaving for her college move in and they squeezed her in the morning we were leaving. You will be very happy with your experience with them!

Dr Nunziato is the most professional oral surgeon I have ever been to. He is calm and doesn't rush me into surgery like other doctors . I have genetically bad teeth and will stick with him in the future. He is the only one I trust and is worth the drive.

I was so nervous about getting my lower wisdom teeth out. The staff was super nice and comforting. Dr. Caponigro talked to me and put me at ease...the next thing I know it's all done and in recovery under a warm blanket. My wife drove me home I followed their printed instructions with no pain just a little soreness. The called me to follow-up and see if I had any questions. Amazing!

I had a wisdom tooth extracted yesterday by Dr Nunziata and I must complement him and his staff on the extremely compassionate treatment I received. I couldn't be more pleased with Dr Nunziata! All of my concerns were addressed and his treatment was perfect. Today is the morning after and I just feel minor discomfort. I also must comment when you call his office a live person answers the phone and your question is answered at that time. Excellent experience!!!

My whole life I've "suffered" through various dentists and countless traumatic dental experiences . Until NOW! I was in tons of pain and and desperately needing to have work done but kept pushing it off because of the pain I would always suffer after procedures. Finally, I couldn't push it off any longer and went to see Dr. Nunziata at Ramapo Oral & Maxillo-Facial Surgery. I have NEVER had such a positive experience at the dentist in my entire life. Dr. Drew has been calm, understanding and extremely patient with me. He made sure I knew that he would take care of me and even though he assured me that I'd be fine, in the event that I'd be in pain afterward- He would make sure that I'd be able to reach him with a question. The office staff are friendly and professional (which is hard to find sometimes), and the nurses are caring, patient and reassuring, as well. KATHY was my nurse on more than one occasion and she's not only made me feel comfortable about asking a zillion questions, but she's calmed me down and assured me that it's normal and my anxiety was normal. BOTTOM LINE: This place gets FIVE STARS!!! It gets an A+++ RATING!!! MOST IMPORTANTLY, THEY HAVE A NEW CUSTOMER FOR LIFE!!!!!

I cannot express how thankful I am that I found Dr. Nunziata. I was very apprehensive to get my wisdom teeth extracted after two other oral surgeons were hesitant to extract the two that were severely impacted. Dr. Nunziata came up with a plan and did a fantastic job with my surgery. Not only is he an excellent oral surgeon, but he takes the time to explain everything and is so genuinely kind. The entire office staff from the receptionists, to the dental assistants, to the billing staff are absolutely superb as well. If you need an oral surgeon, don't hesitate to reach out to this office, you won't regret it!
