I love all of dentistry and am passionate about helping people. One of my main goals as a dentist is to help people understand the value of oral health. I am happy that I can make a difference in someones life, whether it is as dramatic as a smile makeover or as simple as being a good listener, it all matters.
My profession has helped me meet people from various walks of life and appreciate life and be grateful for everything. I am always amazed when I meet people with a positive attitude and realize how you can grow and learn from people every day. There is no dull or bad moment in life if you see everything as the glass being half full and not half empty. That is the way I see life and want to share that hope and message with everyone I meet.
I started my dental career in India, where I graduated with a Bachelor ofDentalSurgery from Manipal University in 1997. I earned my Doctorate of Dental Medicine from the University of Pittsburgh in 2001. The training I received during my general practice residency atthe University of Michigan gave me an edge over other general dentists, many of whom are not comfortable performing emergency trauma procedures.
My experience during the past 15 years has given me insight into not justthe clinical aspect of dentistry but also the business part of the field, which served me well when I createdmy own practice. I understand that for a practice to be successful, the dentist should not only have good dental skills but also be an excellent communicator, a great leader, and an effective businessperson with vision and purpose.
I constantly take continuing education courses in order to achieve fellowship and a mastership from the Academy of General Dentistry. I have taken continuing education courses in the diagnosis, prevention, and interception of oral diseases, cosmetic dentistry, minimally invasive dentistry, pediatric dentistry, and laser and implant dentistry, all from the best in the fieldso I can be the best. I combine new research and evidence-based procedures so I can offer treatments that are not only new but researched and time-tested as well.
I made up my mind to be a dentist when I was in high school, after my uncle passed away from an oral cancer that could have been treated effectively had it been diagnosed. Since then, I have been very mindful of whole-body health in my practice of dentistry. I know I maynot merely change lives, but also save lives!
My personal journey helped me take a whole-body approach to dentistry. Oral health is now more widely recognized as an integral element in overall health. The oral-systemic connection and the relationship of the oral-musculature to the spine as a whole are becoming more respected.
Many systemic and inflammatory diseases can show upin the mouth first, before manifestingin other parts of the body. I have helped several patients achieve overall health by connecting and coordinating with healthcare providers in traditional and non-traditional medicine.
My husband Balaji and I have two children:a daughter named Krisha and a son Aarit. We all love spending time outdoors and watching football and basketball. Im an avid member of Lifetime Fitness and enjoy biking, running, yoga, Zumba, and meditation. We love to laugh as well, especially when watching Seinfeld, The Big Bang Theory, and How I Met Your Mother.
I am passionate about working with children to help them improve their self-esteem and work with organizations that serve that purpose. I believe that the most important thing to learn as a child is self-esteem, self-worth, and self-confidence. To help achieve those goals, I take part in the Give Kids a Smile program to help kids get access to dental care, and workto eliminate the silent epidemic of dental disease for the millions of children who cannot sleep, eat properly, pay attention in school, or simply smile.
I believe in feeling great and living an extraordinary life. I want to surround myself with people who have the best attitude, are the best in their respective fields, and offer the best to people. I want the same for everyone and will try my very best to make my patients feel special.
At Ramani Dentistry, we treat every patient as a whole and not just as a set of teeth. We help you to achieve oral, cosmetic, functional, and overall health goals by listening to you first and foremost. We treat you the way we would like to be treated.

Dr. Ramani and her staff are fantastic. Patient care is their #1 priority. I was in a lot of dental pain so I called the emergency after hours phone number. It was late in the evening, but Dr. Ramani returned my call within 30 minutes. She set up a time for me to come in early the next morning despite the fact that the office was supposed to be closed for the day. Dr. Ramani and her staff went above and beyond to help me and were able to alleviate my pain. Dr. Ramani even followed-up with me over the weekend to see how I was doing. They were genuinely happy to help out a patient in need and for that I will be forever thankful!

JiJi is the best Hygienist so precise and wonderful. Rani is very friendly and informative. Emmie is always there and so caring. Minette got me seated on time every time.

Great first experience. Everyone was great, and the office seems to be very well run. There are a lot of dentists in South Lyon but I'd definitely recommend Ramani Dentistry and will definitely be back.

Just got back from cleaning ... perfect! -------------------------------------- The staff and Dr. Ramani were great ... friendly, accommodating, and professional! My entire family just moved from another practice and we have been very satisfied ... ---------------------------------------- Woke up yesterday with some pain in a tooth ... made the call ... they found a late slot for me, talked me through what was going on, explained the options, and laid out the next steps. Very satisfied!

Tom Stokes I was out of town and was forced to see a commercialized dentist. I was told they could not help me. Returned home and met with Dr.Ramani. After much consultation we came up with a plan she thought would best suit me. So far it has worked out and she has done a great job. Can't say enough about about how she has helped me out. Thanks

Dr Ramani cares very much for her patients and always wants to do what will be the best for them in the long run. she will work with her patients to find a solution to any dental problem while making sure they are involved in the process and are comfortable with the plans made.

I have been to many Dentist offices in my lifetime. Some were good but too far away from my home. Dr. Ramani's office is top-notch and close to home. Having a great dentist is a priority and one that's great AND close to home is the best of both worlds

Went to Dr. Ramani for a temporary insert for my upcoming crown. As always, they were professional, outstanding, and understanding of my concerns as someone who has a fear of dentists. She also is working with me to get a denture replacement for my 101 year old mother. If you have ANY fear or hesitancy to see a dentist, or even if you don't, there is no one better to see than Dr. Ramani and her staff.

It's been 20+years since I've needed anything other than a cleaning. I was very nervous and anxious to get two fillings done this week. Dr. Ramani made me feel so comfortable. Her assistant walked me through everything and made me feel calm. Dr. Ramani informed me that I may have some discomfort because they fillings were deep, however, I am no longer numb and they feel great! Thank you for taking such good care of me!

Dr. Ramani and the staff are FANTASTIC. I have never felt so welcome and appreciated as I do there. Today I was in getting some dental work done and I actually had some of the other staff come over just to say HI and see how I was doing. I can't say I ever looked forward to going to a dental office like I do here.
