Originally from Edgewood, New Mexico, Dr. Porter earned his undergraduate degree in biology at the University of New Mexico. He went on to complete his doctor of medicine in dentistry degree at the Arizona school of dentistry and oral health.
Dr. Porter has had the privilege of serving patients at various community health centers throughout Arizona, New Mexico and Texas. With a heart for helping the underserved, he really enjoyed participating in a dental mission in Atoyac, Mexico. He has also been involved in dental charity events like Give Kids a Smile in Arizona and Texas, and Mission of Mercy here in New Mexico.
He loves spending time with his wife Larissa, their daughters June and Kate, and their dog cooper. He also enjoys woodworking, dirt biking, horses, camping, playing guitar, and spending time with friends.
Following graduation from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry, he then worked for the Indian Health Service in Pine Ridge, SD, before returning home to Gallup to begin his practice.
Dr. Rainaldi has served on the State Board of Dental Health, and as a Trustee with the New Mexico Dental Association, but his greatest service is providing quality dental care to members of the greater Gallup area.
Porter and Rainaldi Dental is based on the philosophy of providing the best possible care in a caring and comfortable environment. The attentiveness to detail and training in all aspects of general dentistry have put this practice at the forefront of local dentistry. Today, as Dr. Rainaldi scales back from full time care to a limited schedule, Dr. Porter has stepped in on a full time basis to continue providing excellent care for the community of Gallup. Together, Dr. Porter and Dr. Rainaldi are committed to providing the best possible care for anyone who walks through the door. Wonderful experience. Can't believe I would say that about a tooth pulled. He does a nice pull. Didn't need pain meds. Wow, nice. Real nice person. Really nice staff and very helpful. Awesome

We were visiting Gallup and had a great experience. Kristy the Hygienist did a wonderful job cleaning our teeth and Dr. Silas Porter provided us a fantastic service in a short notice. We definitely comeback and visit them again.

I just left Rainaldi Dental. Dr. Rainaldi has been my dentist for over 25 years and I have received excellent dental care at this establishment. The entire staff is very competent and polite. Dental hygienist Kristy is the best in the west. I highly recommend this dental office!

All staff, from the receptionist to my dental hygienist and dentist displayed great customer service. I called in to be put on stand-by and was not forgotten. Maggie called as soon as they had an opening. When I got there Ann greeted me and screened me for Covid symptoms before letting me into the building. Staff wore PPE, which helped my confidence in going to the dentist. Christie, my dental hygienist has always been personable and on top of that she is a great hygienist. She did a great job on my teeth that hadn't gone to the dentist for over a year. Dr Rainaldi has been my dentist over the years. I always feel like I'm coming to see my friend, instead of my dentist. My teeth are clean and declared to be in good health. Thank you everyone at Lideo Rainaldi Dental office. Hope to see you in 6 months.

Dr. Damon was really nice and the place in general gets you in ASAP. So glad to have a dentist that takes all precautions in this difficult time and is able to see me for the emergency I had. Always a great experience and definitely my go to!
