Shaun B. Rai, DMD is a diplomate of both the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and the National Dental Board of Anesthesiology, and is a member of numerous local and national medical and dental societies. He maintains a busy office-based practice as well and he also has privileges as an attending surgeon at Sentara Leigh Hospital and Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. Dr. Rai stays current on the latest surgical techniques by attending meetings, courses, reading journals, and visiting with colleagues around the country.
Dr. Shaun B. Rai has devoted his professional career to all aspects of oral and maxillofacial surgery, with an emphasis on dental implant cases, bone grafting surgery, surgical management of impacted teeth, and delivery of the highest quality sedation and anesthesia services in a warm and compassionate manner.
Dr. Shaun B. Dr. Rai is committed to humanitarian efforts and volunteers his time and expertise as an oral and maxillofacial surgeon in service to those less fortunate at the Park Place Dental Clinic in Norfolk, VA, and through the Virginia Dental Association Mission of Mercy programs.

Dr. Rai did amazing ! They got me in really fast and made me comfortable through the whole process. They worked with my anxiety extremely well, and they even gave me ice cream afterwards ! Definitely will be going back in the future!

Dr. Rai and his staff were so friendly and calming during my procedure. They explained every part of my procedure in detail and continued to do so during the procedure. Dr. Rai answered every single one of my questions even when I felt as though they were silly questions. When the procedure was finished Dr. Rai and his staff made sure I had everything I needed for a smooth recovery and he even made sure to say goodbye and good luck with my recovery. Something small but it was extremely valuable. Would highly recommend him if you need oral surgery

Dr. Rai and his team were absolutely amazing. I needed an emergency tooth extraction that my general dentist was unable to do. Their initial referral didn't pan out, so I took to Google and found Dr. Rai. They were able to squeeze me in that same day for a consultation and ultimately decided they could do the extraction the same day as well. Everyone was so nice and went above and beyond. Thank you all so much!

My daughter had to have teeth extracted as part of her dental plan. I found Dr.Rai's office online searching for an oral surgeon that could get her in before school started. I don't know where to begin. From the office staff to Dr Rai himself the best customer service I have experienced in a long time. They made her feel comfortable as well as myself. He even called the next day to check on my daughter to ensure we didn't have any questions or concerns. If my daughter or myself ever need dental surgery without hesitation I will be calling Dr. Rai.

I highly recommend Rai Oral Surgery!! Dr.Rai was so incredibly personable when we spoke at our consult and took the time to explain the procedure and answer all of our questions. He sat down with us right before my son's surgery and reassured us that all would go well, as it did, and answered any last minute questions and concerns. He genuinely cares about his patients. What a wonderful office! Doctor Rai and his entire staff were great. Went above and beyond to make both of my kids comfortable during their wisdom teeth removal surgeries. Took plenty of time with us during the initial consult to answer any of their questions and explain the procedure. Would most highly recommend them. Thanks for taking such good care of our kids!

From my very first phone call to the office, to the actual consultation and surgery, to the follow up from Dr. Rai himself the experience was top notch.
