Dr. Faler was born and raised in Hattiesburg, MS and grew up working summers in his fathers periodontal practice where he gained an early interest in dentistry. After graduating from Mississippi State University in 1993 with a B.S. in Biology, he went to dental school at UAB School of Dentistry in Birmingham, AL. In 1997, he graduated from dental school and immediately began a 3 year residency in periodontics. During residency, he was selected as the Research Fellow in the UAB Department of Periodontics Research Clinic and also won a research scholarship from the Department of Oral Biology. He received a Masters in Dentistry from UAB Graduate School, and a Certificate of Residency in Periodontics from the UAB Department of Periodontics and the Birmingham VA Medical Center in 2000.
After his postdoctoral training, he moved back to his hometown of Hattiesburg, Mississippi and began practicing with his father. In 2003, he moved to Atlanta, GA. Since then, Dr. Faler has been practicing periodontics in the metro Atlanta area with a group specialty office. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Periodontology and is also an adjunct professor at UAB Department of Periodontics. Dr. Faler enjoys hunting, snowskiing, cooking, and spending time on the lake with his daughter, Isabella.
Dr. Mindy Gil grew up in sunny southern California. After completing her bachelors degree in Neuroscience at Johns Hopkins University, she continued her studies at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine (HSDM) for her Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree. Following her passion for oral-systemic link of our health, she pursued her studies and earned specialty certificate in periodontology and Doctor of Medical Science in Oral Biology (DMSc) from HSDM. She is a board certified diplomate of American Academy of periodontology. She received extensive training in all aspects of preserving the supporting structures of teeth, and reconstructive dentistry with a special emphasis on biological and esthetic aspects of implant dentistry.
Her philosophy on dentistry revolves around preservation of health and prevention of disease in connection with the whole body wellness. Dr. Gil is dedicated to delivering compassionate, high-quality, and personalized dental care for each patient. She is a member of American Academy of Periodontics, American Dental Association, and American Academy of Implant Dentistry. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and baby boy Daniel.
Dr. Thao Nguyen was born and raised in Saigon, Vietnam so she is fluent in English and Vietnamese. She obtained her Bachelor of Science (BS) in Chemistry from University of Houston in 2014, and her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) from Texas A&M Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas, TX in 2018. After dental school, she pursued a 3-year postdoctoral residency in the field of Periodontics and Implantology at Louisiana State University (LSU) School of Dentistry in New Orleans, LA, where she earned a Master of Science in Dentistry (MSD) and a Specialty Certificate in Periodontics. During residency, she served as Chief Resident and her research project was granted an award by the Advanced Education and Graduate Research committee.
Dr. Nguyen is enthusiastic about providing outstanding quality of care with compassion in a comfortable environment to patients. She is also dedicated to community service through numerous voluntary work as well as dental mission trips to Guatemala and Jamaica. She is an active member of American Academy of Periodontology, American Dental Association, and Georgia Dental Association. Being an avid sports fan, especially soccer, Dr. Nguyen enjoys sporting events, running, motorcycle rides, exploring new food, and traveling when she is not caring for her patients.

I have a fear of the dentist and Dr Faler was nice and made me feel comfortable but it was his assistant that was rude and very rough because of his assistant I will not get anymore work done from him.

Dr. Faler did multiple gum grafts for me at the same time several years ago. A friend of mine asked me for a reference today which reminded me how great Dr. Faler was and that i neglected to write a reference. I had a gum graft by another periodontist 2 or 3 years before seeing Dr. Faler. The previous experience was terribly painful, the graft host area in the roof of my mouth was left unprotected and bled often, and the grafts themselves were stitched in place without protection. As a result, I was terrified to ever subject myself to that procedure again, but receding gum lines jeopardized my teeth in multiple locations, so i had no choice. Dr. Faler was empathetic, professional, reassuring and extremely gentle. Every location in my mouth that needed protection after the surgery was covered in a protective material that made it impossible to injure myself by accident. Because Dr. Faler knew I was so afraid, he agreed to complete all grafts I needed at the same time if at all possible. I've read some insurance comments on the recent postings. Yes, this type of work is highly specialized and it is up to YOU to do your homework to determine if you are covered. Even so, Dr. Faler's staff assisted me in that process and was patient with claim filings. Overall it was an A+ experience, and I will not hesitate to refer my friend to Dr. Faler. The grafts have held up well, and if i ever have to do this again, Dr. Faler will be the guy.

I absolutely love this doctor and his lovely beautiful staff. They always make me feel comfortable. I'm so terrified of anything when it comes to having work done on my mouth, I just hate being poked at, but they definitely ease my anxiety and nervousness.

This office doesn't tell u if ur in net work with ur insurance they just send u a bill and even when u call them about the bill they then tell u that ur insurance isn't in net work great right then I ask them why they couldn't let me know that before my visit and she said we don't tell the patients only if they ask really first and last visit that's trickery

Dr. Faler worked with my 85-year old mother-in-law. His entire staff was gentle and caring with her, but what really stands out about Dr. Faler is his honest integrity. My MIL has pretty horrific arthritis in her neck from a previous accident. She cannot open her mouth far, which prevented Dr. Faler from being able to do all he wanted to do for her. I was completely floored when he came out and told me he was giving her back half her money for that reason. This was the second time he had been incredibly generous with her. This man is pure heaven in a world of scary, pricy healthcare.
